Best holiday of my life, like ever.
All organisation by Llama travel was impeccable.
Loved it start to finish. Amazing wildlife, amazing scenery.
The small group (13 of us) gelled well together.

From first contact to the end was very good service .All aspects of our adventure was expertly arranged from the transports to and from the hotels to the airports , Our itinerary consisted of constant internal flights and changing of hotels which went so smoothly. The guides they use are so friendly and knowledgeable that you feel that you have known them for years . It was everything we wanted and hoped for and would recommend to all if you have a desire to feel like your getting out there for yourself and travelling but reassured that experts have got your back than llama travel is for you.

As a solo traveller, I was a little apprehensive about booking with a company I'd never heard of, but Llama Travel surpassed my expectations. They were informative on the phone before travelling and everything on the trip went like clockwork. All the complex pick-ups were punctual and the guides and drivers were excellent. I travelled in a group of 7 people and made friends immediately. All the hotels were of excellent standard and our rooms seemed to have the best views available also. I chose the upgraded option at Tortuguero, the Manatus Lodge, and it was wonderful. Costa Rica was hit by hurricane Otto while we were there, and although Llama couldn't be held responsible for this, they gave us a free meal as compensation for missing a guided walk.
I'd love to visit other Latin American countries & wouldn't hesitate to use Llama Travel again.

Tour guides were well informed and had valuable opinions on life in Chile as well as other world events. Some interesting conversations about the US election!!
All hotels were good quality and, as a solo traveller, I had very spacious and well appointed rooms.
Needless to say the landscapes were stunning and on an immense scale.
I visited Patagonia, the Atacama desert and Easter Island, 3 very different areas and all worthy of future visits.
Llama Travel's staff are excellent, everything went as planned and nothing was too much trouble.

Recently back from a month's travel in Latin America arranged with Llama Travel and its local agents.

I cannot praise Llama highly enough. From first contact the company was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. These are all attributes that should be expected but, while they describe the service of the company, they cannot do justice to the patience, professionalism and 'feel good' factor of working with the staff to put together a complex trip.

The London based staff were very supportive through the long process of deciding what to do and when, and virtually all of the local staff - of Condor Travel, Andean Travel Services and the Galapagos Odyssey company - could not have been more helpful, supportive and encouraging.

I could go on for pages but suffice to say that I would recommend Llama Travel without reservation to anyone thinking of a trip to Latin America.

We have recently travelled to Guatemala on a trip organised by Llama Travel. Our experience of this company has been five star throughout. The guides in Guatemala were first class, the tour and accomodation well though out - a very enjoyable experience. The group size was small - 10 in all - which was ideal. A number of people on the trip had travelled with Llama Travel before and had found them to be excellent each time, so clearly this was not a 'one off'. I would not hesitate to recomend this company to anyone planning a visit to South or Central America.

We enjoyed the freedom to vary one's itinerary and the consequent variety of fellow travellers who were there for all or part of our trip. We were met without fail at every airport by local guides whose knowledge of the history, politics, geography, flora and fauna of Chile and Argentina was exemplary. We would certainly use Llama for future trips to South America having used an equally good but more expensive specialist company on a previous trip to Peru. Our only complaint was that we'd have liked more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery in both the Chilean and Argentinean Lake District.

As a former travel agency owner - prior to retirement - I do feel well positioned to compare the service and prices offered by Llama Travel against alternative companies offering similar trips.

In our experience, Llama Travel were absolutely superb from the time of booking, up to and including our return home and later still.

The cost of our very extensive trip was extremely good value and their ground handlers in Peru - Condor Travel - were exemplary.

If we ever decide to visit South America again in the future, we wouldn't even bother looking elsewhere. Couldn't possibly settle for "Burger service" after sampling the finest "Fillet steak of service" so to speak.

We have just returned from a holiday in Peru with Llama travel who were recommended by 'Which' and they did not disappoint. They dealt with our enquiries and booking efficiently and all our transfers and connections were well organised and punctual (they use Condor travel in Peru to oversee these). We had three internal flights and two bus journeys and the guides facilitated all these journeys. The guides on the tours we took were also helpful, pleasant and well informed.
The hotels used were mid to upper mid range and all were good to excellent (upgrades were available but we didn't use these). We found their prices competitive.
Peru is a fantastic country with a wide range of scenery and experiences to offer as well as excellent food and friendly people. I would not hesitate to recommend either the country or Llama Travel

Just returned from an excellent holiday in Peru. Llama Travel and their Peruvian Partners, Condor Travel have been excellent from start to finish. The choice of holidays is very good and value for money. We chose Incas and Conquistadors combined with Sacred Valley, Inca Trail and Condors and Convents. The hotels were good, transfers punctual and friendly, tour guides extremely professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Llama Travel.

I have wanted to go to Peru since studying the Incas at school when I was 10, and my husband and I decided we would save up to go as a 50th birthday present to ourselves. It took quite a few years of saving, but was absolutely worth it.
We chose Llama because their prices seemed reasonable and they had a lot more choice, it's great how you can pick and choose what you want to do. Everything was absolutely perfect. The Llama travel reps who helped me book everything (we did EVERY trip) were great.
All of the Condor reps in Peru were so knowledgeable, and passionate about their subjects. Everything ran like clockwork, and we felt comfortable and safe the whole time. It wasn't like some tours where you are with the same large group the whole time, we met lots of different people, as some were doing some parts of the trip but not others, so they came and went. The maximum we were with was 5 or 6 other couples, and in Nazca it was just us. It was impressive how organised everything was.
Highlights of the trip were the Peruvian people (just so genuinely friendly, happy and kind with no agenda), the scenery (so diverse) the jungle (early morning wake up calls from howler monkeys - wow!), Lake Titicaca (fascinating people on the Uros islands and Tequila), Colco Canyon (a night time dip in the hot springs watching shooting stars and scenery so stunning it made everyone cry), and of course, Machu Picchu (again, a fair bit of crying was involved).
I could go on forever and bore you to tears, but basically, book a trip to Peru with Llama, you won't regret it!

An excellent holiday.We would recommend Llama Travel to anyone going on holiday to South or Latin America.We were able to choose the elements we wanted,choose our flights(in our case KLM from our local airport Leeds Bradford via Amsterdam( Schiphol) avoiding travelling to Heathrow) and in small groups throughout the holiday. Condor travel, the Peruvian company supporting Llama, were very efficient.All of the luggage arrived on time and there were no problems.The guides on the tours and transfers were pleasant,helpful and well -informed with impressive language skills. We had no complaints about any of the hotels.We upgraded only once but all of the hotels were of a very good standard. The memories of Peru,the wonderful landscape,and warmth of the people will remain with us for ever. If you are thinking of going to Peru go for it.You won't regret it. Llama will help you organise the holiday you want.

From booking, where I was able to tailor my holiday to my needs and not restricted to a set itinerary, to the logistical organisation of getting a number of travellers to a variety of destinations I cannot fault anything (excellent service from the local company Condor Travel). I'd highly recommend walking the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu (a magical experience) and one I will remember for a long time, just be prepared for a hard days walking. The guides and transport drivers were knowledgeable, friendly and great fun. I will definitely be booking any future trips to South America through Llama Travel and I'd highly recommend them to anyone thinking of going to that part of the world.

Travelled with Llama a few years ago to Ecuador and the Galapagos, choosing them because of value for money and the size of boat for the Galapagos trip. Our experience there meant that, when we decided to go to Costa Rica, we did look at a couple of other providers, but did not take long to decide to travel with Llama again. First, they are excellent value for money. The hotels and accommodation were all good to excellent quality. The service is really excellent from the time of telephoning to ask for advice about a trip before booking, to the the booking process, the information available in advance and the superb service whilst in the country. Guides are knowledgeable, professional and friendly (in Costa Rica, provided via Swiss Travel in association with Llama). Transport was comfortable. We were in a nice sized group (11 people) that fitted into a single minibus, with a delightful and safe driver. After our first holiday with Llama, I recommended the company to a friend of a friend, who then booked the exact trip we had done and also was impressed. As another reviewer commented, we weren't offered a direct flight to Costa Rica and understood that the BA flights hadn't yet started, but I'm not sure whether this was the case. I would definitely want to fly direct another time, because the transfer within the US is very time-consuming - a three hour transit time disappears quite quickly when you are in a long immigration queue and can be quite stressful. We transited through Newark on the way out (where we had to collect and recheck your luggage) and Houston on the way back (where we didn't). Be aware that if you want to eat at Newark, every eaterie runs by self-order menus on iPads at the table and it takes ages. We nearly missed out flight because we thought we were eating right next to it but it changed and it was only through a kind airport driver that we made it to the furthest end of the airport on time. So, if you can avoid a US transfer, for many reasons, do! Costa Rica is a wonderful country and Llama made our experience there wonderful.

Llama travel was helpful and readily available throughout the arrangement process, which was rather tricky because our various adult family members all had different requirements One couple eventually had to drop out for personal reasons, despite Llama being very accommodating in making the changes they wanted. Apologies to Llama for us being such difficult customers.

When we got to Costa Rica everything went faultlessly except for the interface between two local agents where the transfer from one to the other, involving two buses being in the right place simultaneously, resulted in a delay as one bus went to the wrong place for the pickup. I should say that the hotels, the tours and the guides were all great, and just as we expected (we had been to Costa Rica before and liked it so much we went back with the family).

So why only four stars? That was down to the flights which were were routed through Houston Texas with United, when direct flights with Thompson had become available a few months before we flew. Routing through the US, with the need to go through full immigration and security, is always a risk, and weather related delay on our inward flight to Houston on the way home meant we were within ten minutes of missing our trans-Atlantic flight, which was very stressful.

We had a great holiday and would definitely go again with Llama - but we do recommend a direct flight whenever possible.

It was our first holiday with Llama Travel and I can't praise them enough!! Our holiday was well organised from start to finish!! Llama Travel were always at the end of the telephone to answer any of our queries. The hotels chosen by Llama Travel were excellent and all in a central location. Llama Travel even changed one of our hotels before our holiday began as customers were not rating the hotel, this to me shows how much Llama Travel listen to their customers and how much satisfying their customers is important to them. I would not hesitate to book with Llama Travel again!!

It was our first holiday with Llama Travel and I can't praise them enough. From pick up at the airport to return to airport the service was amazing. Our guide In Ecuador was very knowledgeable, kind and considerate, the transport was first class and very comfortable. For the Galápagos cruise we were on the La Pinta where once again the staff, guides and accomadation were fantastic. The cabins are very roomy with comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for the shower and excellent food. At the end of our eight day cruise we then stayed for three nights at the Finch Bay hotel on Santa Cruz, where we chilled out by the pool...perfect! This holiday exceeded our expectations and would recommend it to anyone. We will have no hesitation in using Llama Travel again.

The organisation was faultless.The transportation,hotels and tours all excellent.We saw many beautiful and interesting landscapes and so much wildlife.Met a great bunch of people and the guides were fantastic.This was truly a holiday of a lifetime,

First trip to South America and made the right choice by booking the trip with Llama Travel. The Incas & Conquistador tour was the perfect introduction to Peru. The chance to group some excursions together to save a bit was a good idea. Good choice of hotels in the different cities. Well worth upgrading to the higher class ones. Brilliant, informative guides brought the trips to life. We were lucky to have our time in Cusco coincide with the annual festival time. This put the icing on the cake but the trip still had many highlights on top of that. Thank you Llama Travel for an unforgettable experience in Peru. Thoroughly recommended.

Throughout our holiday their associates in Peru [CondorTravel] were excellent with knowledgeable guides for day trips and a thoroughly prepared and completed 4 day Inca Trail.
The holiday featured Lima hotels and excursion, Cusco hotel [before and after the trail] plus excursions, The 4 day Inca Trail with magnificent porters and guides and finally a relaxing time in Paracas, with transfers to and from Lima on 'Cruz Del Sur' plus two excursions. Timekeeping for every aspect of the arangements was spot on. Ride a Llama - you won't be disappointed.
