I wanted to relocate to a Lovell home from a current new build. The marketing suite representative put me off. They did not seem to know much about the development and told me the development had had to pause for 5 months due to issues. Not a positive sell. Before I even got to the questions I had about the home I was interested in, they told me they were very busy, had other people to call and implied I was wasting their time. They called me. During the day. While I was at work. If anyone's time was being wasted it was mine. I am not sure what house building companies are thinking? Or their sales reps. Perhaps they are thinking that they are doing such a great job for their development that buyers should be grateful for small amount of information provided. Perhaps they don't realise just how in competition they are with one another for eyeballs and footfall. Perhaps they make assumptions about who the person is and their financial position too soon in the process. Perhaps they are not ready for the well informed purchaser who has everything available in the public domain to track planning applications and conditions, company performance and neighbourhood issues, market values and risk. Perhaps they only sell to people who don't ask too many questions. What I do know is that regardless of my status I was treated with disrespect by a representative of Lovell Homes and the rub of it is, they called me and disturbed my day and left me upset for the rest of my day. House building and selling is not a robotic, automated, volumetric endeavour for the purchaser. The customer does not need to hear about how busy the sales rep is, what the rest of their busy day is like, and how the person they have called is getting in the way of their next call. Enquiring about a new home is a human, personal, emotional and community focused future investment in a house, neighbourhood and region. Even if the customer does not buy that home on that development, surely Lovell Homes wants to protect its brand overall. If Lovell read this, I am sorry I wasted your time with my enquiry about your new development which meant one of your sales reps had to call me to give me a bit more information before I booked an appointment. It won't happen again.

Excellent Customer Focused Service
So far, everything has gone really well. We’ve recently reserved a property in Burton through the part exchange plus scheme, and every query we’ve raised has been answered honestly and handled positively. Chris, the sales advisor, has been exceptional throughout the process.
With my partner currently going through cancer treatment, the part exchange option has been especially helpful, taking much of the stress and uncertainty out of moving. The offer we received was fair and reasonable, and the 8-week part exchange plus scheme is a fantastic, customer-focused deal. While many builders tend to structure offers around their own needs, this genuinely feels different—it’s a win-win, and it’s clear that customer satisfaction is at the heart of Lovell’s values.
I’ll continue to update this review as the process progresses, but for now, I’d like to sincerely thank Chris and Sally for everything they have done for me and my partner.

Went into Lovell home with little previous knowledge on the whole home process. Loved the show homes and knew we were interested. Jacqueline at Central Square Winchburgh made our experience flawless. She was extremely warm and welcoming. She helped put any of our concerns at ease and was always contactable and quick to reply. She let us look at the show home without breathing down our necks and gave us the freedom to explore. Being first time buyers, Jacqueline provided us with all the information and reassurance we needed to go ahead and purchase our first home. Would highly recommend.
Avoid. At all costs.
I have just written a 5 star review for a car dealership that I purchased a 35k car from. Sadly, purchasing a £500k property from Lovell is a completely different story. You would think purchasing a property of this specification would be luxury in today’s market. However we have experienced major health and safety issues and ongoing plumbing issues 16 month down the line. We also experienced a delay in moving in due to boundary issues that actually didn’t exist, nobody had bothered to conduct a site visit to realise the plans and boundary were actually correct. This was following mounting pressure to ensure we were in a position to buy, which we went above and beyond to ensure our homes were sold in time…only to end up in a hotel as Lovells didn’t meet their end of the deal. When I was a few weeks from giving birth. We have had water pouring through light fittings in the kitchen onto our baby’s high chair due to poorly fitted showers. Water saturating carpets and ceilings in our 11 year olds bedroom due to poorly fitted showers. Water saturating ceilings in our 11 year olds bedroom due to bricks being missing from the front of the house. Windows whistling with wind into our 11 year olds bedroom due to poorly fitted trickle vents. 7 foot wooden planks falling on the back of my partners head when he opens the garage door (luckily he is made of tough stuff - this could have been either my 1 year old or 11 year old which could have been a different story), junk that was buried underneath our garden turf popping up and slicing the bottom of my 8 year old nephew’s foot, heating that malfunctioned and went above 28 degrees when we brought our new born home, along side a huge huge list of other avoidable snags that if the property had been finished properly wouldn’t have happened. We also have a constant loud knocking sound during water running and draining. We have highlighted these issues constantly with no real resolution so we have had no choice other than to instruct NHBC for intervention. We even experienced a recent customer service phone call where an advisor was clearly having another conversation during the time and we were met with “you’re joking!” Rather than a hello. The professionalism and conduct of this company deserves a 1 star and to be honest I could write an essay here with everything our family has been through when it should have been a very pleasant experience and time of our lives. I have purchased 3 new build properties in my time so far, one of them being known as a budget builder, and not experienced anything as poor as this before. Please think twice before you purchase a Lovells property, especially if you’re spending half a million. To summarise I feel like the experience we have received, we feel like we owe them something instead of the customer is always right. Tara Pearson.
