The sofa store Swansea has been the worst customer experience of my life. On 2/1/19 I visited the sofa store in Llansamlet, I had an old chap called Terry served me. I found a chunky leather sofa which was my preferred sofa, on the pricey side but couldn’t fault it, explained to Terry how important a comfy sofa was for my health problems and that I need to be sat just so to be comfortable, he did a big sell on another sofa and although it was manual for 200 extra per sofa it could be made a power sofa. I was hooked it was a damn comfy sofa and I was happy, so I paid a deposit on it, was told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery but to ring in 6 to see where we were. So at six weeks I rang them and asked was there news on my sofas, as I explained who I was and what I had ordered they told me the computer had gone down and they couldn’t bring my order up but it would defo be here in two weeks and a note left for someone to contact me with a delivery date. Two weeks later still no contact from them so I rang again, this time when I told them who I was and told why I was ringing I was told by the guy on the phone sorry he couldn’t help as this wasn’t the store he worked in and someone would ring me back, ten mins later I got a call back to say Mark the manager would ring me in the morning as they couldn’t help. The following afternoon mark called and said I have bad news you can’t have that sofa with electric they don’t do it and he’s had words with the sales rep and he feels bad all that BS. I explain I have sold my sofa on so will be without a sofa soon for however long it takes to get another delivered which is an uncomfortable situation with my health at the moment, and on top of this I have gone to the expense of a total redecoration of my room to go with this new grey colour scheme, I am upset about this and left without furniture all down to his company. He said to come down and try some different sofas I asked did he grey leather electric and he said no micro fibre but he did have an Italian leather which he would let me have at the same price. Mark says he it’s their fault he doesn’t want bad publicity and and the last thing he wants is for me to have a bad customer experience as reputation is everything. So next morning I travelled back down to Swansea and tried the different sofas and they were not suitable so I had a look at the Italian one, It was quite comfy but not as comfy as the other one I had ordered even if it was better quality ( in marks words the difference between sitting in a ford and Ferrari) he also says they knew at the 6 weeks point I couldn’t have the electric sofas but they panicked and choose to hid the facts from me, they were going to try fit electrics from another sofa but it couldn’t be done. I wish they had been upfront I wouldn’t be in this position of having gone and sold my furniture on. I feel a bit desperate and I settle for the Italian sofas they feel good quality but the one he’s offering is brown and I need it to be grey so he says he can order it but its going to cost me more money and again a six to eight week weight, so something that wasn’t going to cost me more is now costing me more, never mind I have the extra weeks to get some more money together. As for being left with nowhere to sit for all them weeks and he can see I’m not well and he doesn’t want bad publicity over what has happened, Mark offers me the manual version of my original purchase as a loan, I didn't ask for them he offered which seemed very kind at the time, we shake on it and he writes a new receipt, tells me I made the right choice as the one I had ordered originally is a cheap shipment from China that’s why there’s no electric in them and it won’t last as long( they advertise quality sofas mind!)
So my own sofa goes to its new owner and I wait 2 days for my loan sofa the new Midas suite while sat in a camp chair, I tell them to make it easier for them and the delivery guys I would have a 3 and a chair, he thanks me for being so understanding and I’m just relieved that I will have furniture.
And here comes yet another sting in the tail the delivery guys drop off the loan sofas and it's not what was promised it a stinking filthy 3+2 sofas they smells so musty and damp it has scuffs and stains and is so low and uncomfortable I am not able to use it for eight weeks. The delivery guys say he’s gone back on his word as he had sold all the others and ill have to have this or be left with nothing to sit on. I explain the situation and the delivery guys are embarrassed and shocked and apologetic, I tell them I need to speak to mark and they say he won’t be available until the morning. So here I am with two absolutely stinking and I can’t underestimate how musty they smell they making my chest wheeze, I am not happy and having this filthy crap in my house.
On top of this I think maybe its been in a house with pets there is hair and filth down the side cushions and a used q tip cotton bud, how disgusting is that? I was going to give it a damn good clean but I am not going to put my hands in someone else filth I have no idea what types of homes this sofa has come from or even if it was pulled out of a refuse skip, it's disgusting and it is distressing to be treated so badly. I am tamping mad I have thrown out better condition furniture. And to think they know I have sold a damn good sofa to be left with this piece of crap that I can’t use. Having just had a tearful conversation with marks dad Terry ( who seems p*ss*d that Mark has offered me sofas at cost price as a solution to their mistake) they have agreed to pick their rancid sofa up in the morning but are leaving me with no furniture, they don’t have the sofas to lend and are not offering any other clean sofas as they don’t want the expense and inconvenience of making any more tips up to Merthyr, never mind that I have had to pay them more than one visit and numerous calls to try get this sorted, The truth is they dropped a b**lo*k and don’t really want to honour what was promised and they will be happy to give my deposit back to me to see the back of me and see me without anywhere to sit knowing I am in poorly way at the moment. This mess is all down to them and this is the worst customer experience I have ever had. There is nothing honourable about this company or the way I have been treated and left in the lurch. Then Terry rang me an hour later off their sofa store number asking am I mfc sofas, taking the pee or what, get this man to a dr , this is an abrupt man who sold me a sofa they couldn’t deliver on and made me wait almost nine weeks to say the truth and take me back to square one, only now I am I have decorated for a non-show set of sofas and left me furniture-less. what the hell are they doing with this man in charge and dealing with customer care? abrupt snappy and rude.
