Customer Service is TERRIBLE and…
Customer Service is TERRIBLE and non-existent. I am currently on the phone waiting (45 minutes so far...again) to speak to customer service about an order I placed over a week ago that still has not even gone through fulfillment on their website. But they were very quick to charge me for my order! I have tried contacting them via phone & email, no response at all. The Live Chat doesn't even function. How am I supposed to get in contact with Customer Service if they don't answer calls & emails?? I can't even cancel my order. About to contact Better Business Bureau and my credit card company for fraudulent charge. Based on other reviews on this site, looks like ModCloth is a repeat offender at taking customer's money and not shipping the orders in a timely manner or AT ALL.

I have been trying to get a hold of mod cloth customer service for days now. Everything I call I go straight to voice mail. I’ve emailed them and called them multiple times. I need to initiate a return and I can’t. They’re customer service is not good at all.

Possibly the worst customer service I have experienced with online shopping. Requested information about return and had to go through three different emails over a 10 day period. They finally agreed to give me the shipping address but let me know that if the merchandise wasn’t in their office in one week that it would not qualify for a return (although my order took two weeks to arrive). They also said they would charge me for original shipping fees but did not tell me that amount. It was not worth taking a day off work to get the returns there in one week. I decided to cut my losses and donate the items to a secondhand store.
I just saw your response and think future customers should know that I contacted you within 24 hours of receiving package. It took ten days to finally get you to give me the return information with the one week deadline. Your return policy is nothing short of a scam.

Not at all happy with my purchases…
Not at all happy with my purchases mainly due to the poor quality of the fabric. The description said cotton/linen but the fabric is actually a very thin polyester - a totally different look than the shot in the ad. The colors are also inaccurately depicted. The delivery was ok, but would not recommend buying from this site.

I have ordered from here many times. The stuff I have bought has all been of good quality! I have had a few things that I returned and I have never had a problem.
Incredibly low quality products not worthy of the prices
The quality of their products have dropped significantly and somehow the cost has increased. I am someone that appreciates quality and am willing to pay for it. The chances of finding items off quality is a hit or miss and for the past several years it has been a miss.
I have also noticed off late poor reviews of their products are not posted on their website. I stopped shopping with them a few years ago and decided to give them another try at the end of last year; not much has changed. I also find a lot of the messages of the products directed at angry feminist or lonely cat obsessed people. I am a woman, I support women and believe in women’s strength. However, I am able to do so without the angry feminist messages.
Most recently, i purchased a cotton dress and followed the instructions when washing it somehow, it fell apart in the washer. Several seams just came apart with no identified cause and it did not happen to any of the other items (not from ModCloth) I washed together. I had to throw it out.
Fortunately, there are many other companies providing vintage inspired products with significantly higher quality. Without the angry feminist messages or the generic responses.

Not shopping there again - expensive, poor quality.
I've given ModCloth a good few chances to impress me... and I've finally decided never to shop there again. For the prices they charge you expect them to deliver on quality, but it's just not there.
My experiences have been the following:
* Ordered multiple shoes - received them in a decent timeframe however quality was abhorrent. Some were so stiff I couldn't get my foot into them without damaging them (permanent and ugly creases in the fake leather outer lining), some were covered in glue (how?) and two pairs had the heels fall off after one day's wear, yep - one day! When I tried to put up a review about the worst pair, I was told they wouldn't publish it and was given a full refund without me even requesting this. I can't leave an honest review?
* Ordered a skirt - material much thinner than what it appeared to be in the photos, and after one day's wear already had pilling from where my arms rested on it during the day. A $70 skirt should get me a few years, not hours.
* Ordered 5 pairs of pants ($250), all ModCloth brand, all the same size. Two pairs were too small, and had what looked like oil smudges all over them, two pairs were too big and the seams were weak, and one pair fits but looks like it will last me a week before it will begin to fall apart. I returned all but the last pair (another saga in itself).
* In my last package they kindly included a discount code for 25% off my next purchase... which expired two weeks ago. Hello, Mod Cloth, overseas orders take longer to arrive so maybe give us codes with longer expiry dates? It's not an issue though as I won't be buying anything else.
* You pay AU $14 for return shipping, which is fair enough, except if there's no DHL outlet near you, then you're out of luck - it's Australia Post and at it's not capped. Prepare to spend just as much in return postage as you did on the products themselves. When the website mentions "easy returns" you don't expect this much trouble.
To balance the review somewhat, there were some positive things.
* Shipping times were fairly good, even through COVID restrictions. Items were always well packaged and arrived in good condition.
* Staff are friendly and do try to help - it's not their fault the quality isn't there.
All in all, there are many websites out there to purchase from that deliver the quality you'd expect from high prices. In my opinion, ModCloth isn't one of them.

Do not bother with Modcloth.
I ordered some rather expensive dresses late 2020. Understandably there'd be some delays. Once received, I realized the items did not fit. I went about returning them on the same day of opening. I was out of pocket almost $70AU in international shipping. The package took over a month to get back. I checked in on the tracking and it was received, but Modcloth have not issued any response or given me a refund. I had gone on to reorder and the new items ALSO don't fit. The returns process is horrible. International shipping is expensive and the company have not responded to any emails. I would not recommend. I'm out of pocket by hundreds of dollars.

I used to love ModCloth
I used to love ModCloth, it was the only place I bought dresses. However the quality and overall experience has gone downhill since they have gotten more popular. It used to be a fun website with a vintage feel but more staple pieces for the everyday wardrobe and the average dress for the higher end was around 50-60 dollars. Now all the dresses are heavily vintage with. Strong feminist vibe, not for a classic wardrobe and they are very expensive the more popular they have gotten with the average dress starting around 90-150. And the quality has gone down. I used to be able to count on ModCloth to find great quality dress that were affordable and I could keep in my closet that were timeless. Not anymore. I haven’t bought a dress in a long time because nothing is worth it. Sometimes I think I find a nifty coat but those are 250+ and the sizes are never around long enough if I did want to buy it.

Modcloth used to be great, declined greatly over time
I recently had an experience I didn't think it could happen to me. I bought from Modcloth a tunic that didn't resemble at all the pictures - color much paler and sad, and due to that and the uneven coloring, it just looked very dirty instead of the interesting yellow from their web page. I tried to explain this to the customer service, and I felt I just hit a wall. I was explained what Internet was, and about monitors, and pictures, and why different lighting makes items look different. But yellow should look yellow in any light, right? Why should my light be defective? Insult was added to injury. I was treated condescendingly, I felt humiliated and felt like they didn't want my business. You bet this wish will be granted.

I have never once encountered an issue with shipping. In fact, I have always received orders soon after buying! Modcloth clothes are always as-advertised and cute. The only suggestion would be to have more models wearing the clothing on the site, as you can't always tell what it'll look like in-person.

Cute clothes, but sizing/shipping are issues.
The clothes are adorable, but sizing can be inconsistent, even when you use sizing charts. I've received a number of items that don't fit, but which I have had to keep anyway because return shipping is so expensive. It should be free, like with other US retailers that ship to Australia (eg. Urban Outfitters, Amazon).
Most important for Australian shoppers: NEVER CHOOSE STANDARD/FREE SHIPPING, unless you're okay with waiting months for your clothes. I'm currently waiting on an order placed more than a month ago - tracking tells me it took 19 days after dropoff for the courier to accept the parcel and process it for delivery, so god knows when it will arrive. Past packages have been similarly slow. Fast/express shipping is pretty quick, and 100% worth the extra cost.
I wish I could give ModCloth five stars because I love their aesthetic and philosophy, but alas. I hope that one day they get their act together with regard to sizing/shipping, so that we can see them at their fullest potential.

I ordered a dress on the 30th October. Was told it can rake up to 7-10 business days to arrive. It's now December 7th and it still hasn't arrived.

Received wrong order and now they're out of what I actually ordered
I ordered jeans. They sent me a really ugly dress that wasn't even my size. I emailed them to fix it and they said they were out of the jeans that I ordered now and will send me a shipping label for the dress but refused to send packaging and expect me to get packaging for it!!! Didn't offer anything to make up for the massive inconvenience!! They finally gave me a "refund" and didn't even give all my money back!!!!

Early Morning Messaging
I visited this site on my phone and evidently I entered my phone number. I have been getting some kind of message from ModCloth in the early mornings. The message says "This site has been updated in the background". The messages are coming in at 5:03 am, 3:31 am, 5:54 am. I called the phone number attached to the message and the Girl I talked to said ModCloth doesn't do that and if I emailed a screenshot she could look into it. Haven't heard a thing - these messages are almost daily now. Can someone help me, I'm about ready to contact the Better Business Bureau. I work hard and I need my sleep!!

Amazing costumer service! I purchased some boots that were too big. I contacted customer service at 8:30pm and they helped me exchange them quickly and easily. They also shipped my new item for free and included a free shipping label for return of the boots I had! So pleased with how easy and pleasant this experience was. Thank you!

I unfortunately I’ve had an Unprofessional Experience with them.It was my first time buying and it will be my only time. I was trying to receive their coupon for 15% off an item that was over $100 and they would not respond to me. You’re supposed to sign up through email and I never got it in my email. I then called since emails and commented on their Facebook. I did not get a response until I told them on Instagram that they clearly don’t want my business. Members then started to make fun of me and harassed me all because I left the comment about how I had not received a response from them. They only responded to me when I left a negative review but then when I needed help they chose not to respond.I had already ordered the jumper and paid full price for it Or I would have just canceled the order after that incident. When I did get the jumper it was incredibly small and very very itchy despite being cute. I hope they take this as an opportunity to have better customer service.

Clothes don't last
I bought a few outfits pre-pandemic and after only about three months of wear they are unraveled, ripped, or have strings hanging from them. I followed the dry cleaning instructions exactly. The clothes are overpriced and don't last.

Given a returned sweatshirt instead of a dress
Interesting experience. I ordered a dress for my 5 year anniversary dinner and had it express shipped for 2 days. I opened the package and it's a grey used sweatshirt... No receipt, the bag that had the sweatshirt literally has packing tape on it to keep the sweatshirt inside and it smelled like perfume. And the address that was shipped from was from Modcloth Returns?? I immediately call customer service, and the lady who helped me was so apologetic and kind. I think her name was Lana. She was wonderful. She overnighted my dress to get to my anniversary in time! Hopefully, it comes in time!! I feel a little icky and worried about touching it because of COVID. By hoping by sharing my experience, this wont happened again haha. I have a newborn at home so I'm sanitizing my everything just in case...
