After good start with Mrg on buying a car , the relationship turned sour . Firstly second key wasn’t working and was actually damaged on visiting them they explained it wasn’t covered by warranty. They said they do 200 pounds even thou obviously damaged before we had key . We ended up going somewhere else was charged a lot less . Couple month later we had tyre sensor come on and wasn’t sure why so we visited mrg yet again and was met rudely and unhelpful never even moving from seat . We explained issue was told we had come back Monday we asked if cover by warranty to be told it was and was done in couple day . Than another one went again and again e took car over and explained it happened again and was it covered to be told it was . Work done and now It turned sour , to be informed it wasn’t covered and last time was a mistake and we shouldn’t been covered and paid for it . We double checked number times we asked and was told it wasn’t covered and needed to pay . When asked speak to manager we told no one was available and had call back. To be told it covered and than not yet no one contacted us before doing work that wasn’t covered and would be charged . The lady who tried cover it wasn’t at fault and was trying to be helpful.but each time we been dealt with by sale person rudely . After all this we certainly wouldn’t come back .

Ethan invited us down and despite how late it was he allowed us time to view and test drive the car without rushing us. Ethan was very knowledgeable, friendly and so accommodating. He really did go above and beyond making us feel like we got a great deal. We have had the car little over a week now and couldn’t be happier! I would recommend to friends and family… ask for Ethan! We’ll be back when it’s time to upgrade for sure.

I was looking for a Toyota Yaris Hybrid. I went to MRG Chippenham and spoke to Ethan. I was really impressed by his knowledge and how helpful he was. I picked up my new car today. So pleased with such great service . I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are after a car. Definitely deserves 5 Stars.

Sold me a faulty car with undisclosed…
Sold me a faulty car with undisclosed damage and a short MOT. No repairs done. After I complained, I was pressured from a personal number to withdraw it or get nothing fixed. I have video evidence and the case is now with Trading Standards, the Financial Ombudsman and the ICO. Avoid.

I wouldn’t even give 1 star. They ripped me and my partner off. They’ve sold us a car that had a months MOT and also a dodgy gear box at the time of selling. They’ve then tried to get the warranty claim which is illegal as the issue was there at point of sale. This dealer ship then has gave us nothing but issues since. Since then saying it was a recalled gear box they sent the car to get fixed only to be bought back with more issues. Now we have a faulty fuel line, gear box still not fixed. We’ve been told to remove our complaints as the issues would be sorted and told word by word what to write to make them look better (we have video evidence of this) Us giving them the benefit we agreed to now them getting a solicitor involved to reject fixing the car at their expense. Absolutely SHOCKING service. Avoid at all costs. To add aswel my partner who bought the car used to work within the company to which he knew some of the staff there and they’ve worked very unprofessionally with him as a customer making threats to come to my home and we are lucky the kids are there and taking the mick out of his spelling belittling him (again we have evidence of).

Terrible service
My husband took our Volvo in for a service (under a 2 year service plan) and MOT. He arrived around 10.30am and had been unable to book a courtesy car so waited & was told it take around 2-3 hours.
At around 10.45 he was told the car had failed its MOT because all 4 tyres had splits. Tyres would be ordered and should arrive mid afternoon. He asked if he could go home and return but was told it would be illegal to drive the car and he would be picked up by ANPR.
This was fair enough until another gentleman was told that his car was about to fail its MOT because the brakes were “dangerously faulty” so would he like to go home and come back the following day when the parts had arrived ……
My husband was directed to the automatic drink dispenser and the gentleman with the dangerously faulty brakes was asked if he’d like a ‘proper’ cup of tea as the machine tea was so awful …
Finally around 5pm our car was finished and he was presented with a bill for the service, the tyres and the MOT. My husband explained he’d purchased a two year service plan and was told he hadn’t.
He got home around 6pm.
The following day he called the dealership that sold us the car who said they had only entered half the service plan when we purchased the car but would do a refund.
I wrote to MRG and received a rather sarcastic response.
I’m going to trade in my Volvo for a Mercedes as I’ve had many and have never had such bad service.

Exceptional service
Having experienced difficulties with my recently acquired used Volvo (from another dealer), Val and the service team went out of their way to assist in solving the problems they discovered - and in order that background information was available, used their Volvo service network contacts to help identify the cause of the issues. They did not need to offer such outstanding assistance but did so willingly, which helped resolve the problems I encountered. It is a long time since I have received such good customer service.

Kind and Efficient
We had a family emergency and my bomb proof Volvo flashed an ABS warning. I was fitted in same day to a busy list and was so well looked after. All fixed and fine. A lovely garage, can't recommend enough.
