My son, Juan, is a student and applied to work at O’Reilly. Unfortunately, the manager treated him very badly during the process. As a company that many young people see as a first job opportunity, I expected more professionalism and respect. This experience left us very disappointed.

O'Reilly Employee Attacks Veteran & Caretaker

Subject: Formal Complaint – Incident at O’Reilly Auto Parts Store #5327 (Beville Rd) on September 15, 2025

Dear O’Reilly Auto Parts Customer Service,

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an alarming and unacceptable incident at your Beville Road location (Store #5327) on Sunday, September 15, 2025. This matter endangered my father—a 100% disabled Navy veteran with terminal prostate cancer—and caused significant stress and hardship for our family. I request immediate investigation and corrective action.

Background
I have been incapacitated for four weeks with severe sciatica and back pain, making it impossible to replace our dead car battery myself. Reliable transportation is critical for my father’s medical care. AAA jump-started the car, and my father drove it directly to your store with both the vehicle and the old battery to ensure the correct match.

Your staff sold us the wrong battery. When asked about installation, the employee falsely claimed the job was “too hard” for O’Reilly and that the air filter box would need to be removed. In truth, the procedure required only removing a single bracket bolt—a basic step on nearly every vehicle. Because of this incompetence, I was forced to install the battery myself despite my injury.

Attempts to Resolve
When I called the store, the employee was rude and refused to help. I then contacted customer service around 4:00 PM. Their only suggestion was for me to purchase a second battery online and wait for Instacart delivery—completely unworkable at that hour. As my father’s VA-registered caregiver, I cannot be left without a functioning vehicle.

Escalation at the Store
I returned with the incorrect battery to resolve the matter personally. Anticipating problems, I recorded the encounter on video. Instead of addressing the issue, your employee escalated it:

He argued rather than assist.

He ordered another employee to photograph our vehicle, clearly to antagonize.

He then called the police and falsely claimed I had threatened him.

Filing a false police report is a serious offense. Such behavior placed both me and my veteran father at genuine risk of harm. We left before officers arrived (after waiting 15+ minutes) to protect our safety. I am now pursuing the official police statement to confirm exactly what was reported.

Requested Actions
This situation demonstrates severe failures in customer service, training, and professionalism. I demand the following:

Immediate suspension of the employees involved pending investigation.

Direct contact from the district manager and escalation to senior leadership, as I have heard nothing after four days.

Full reimbursement for the incorrect battery, AAA service, and compensation for the unnecessary hardship caused.

A written corrective action plan, including retraining on installation procedures and de-escalation.

I have preserved video evidence and will share it publicly if this is not resolved. I am consulting with Morgan & Morgan regarding legal options for harassment, endangerment, and emotional distress. Formal complaints are also being filed with the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, Google, and the Florida Attorney General’s Office.

O’Reilly Auto Parts has lost our business permanently due to this ordeal. What should have been a routine purchase turned into a threatening and dangerous experience. I expect immediate action and a written response within 10 business days.

I’ll be going to oriellys from now on

After another auto parts store had sold me two identical parts that were labeled as different manufacturers.the guys at oreilly showed me how to cross reference part numbers and were able to get me a part that actually works . Good vibes from professionals 10/10 would recommend!

Oreilly will not stand behind their products, warranty or return policy.

I purchased a “rebuilt starter” on 7/31/2025 from “Chuy” at store 4708 O’Reilly auto parts. The starter they sold me left me stranded on 8/13/2025. I attempted to return their defective starter with receipt and “Dario” at the same location refused to accept my return stating this wasn’t the same starter sold to me. I explained I purchased this starter as a rebuilt and this is what was given. Return was refused and they would not take responsibility for their defective product. BUYER BEWARE, OREILLY’s WILL NOT STAND BY THIER PRODUCT AND WILL NOT REFUND WITH OR WITHOUT RECEIPT. Bad business and I will not step foot in another Oreilly Auto Parts ever again. I will even advise my employer (US Gov) to not do business with OREILLY’s as they don’t honor or stand behind their products.

El 31 de Julio compré un motor de arranqué de este local. El motor de arranque estuvo defectuoso y me dejó en la calle. Tuve que comprar otro motor de arranque y intenté devolver el motor de arranque y me negaron la garantía y no me quisieron devolver mi dinero. NO LE COMPRAN PARTES A ESTOS LADRONES QUE SI TE SALE DEFECTUOSO, CON O SIN RECIVO TE QUIEREN DEVOLVER TU DINERO.

Placed online order mentioned above. 2 cans out of 6 of tire spray came with no caps and employees explained to my pick up folks it comes that way. Cans appear used and cannot store properly without lids, just BS.

RUDE EMPLOYEE - PIKEVILLE KY LOCATION

MALE EMPLOYEE ANSWERED PHONE WAS VERY RUDE. MY HUSBAND CALLED ABOUT A WASHER FLUID CAP, THE GUY TOLD HIM HE DID HAVE ONE AND IT WAS $14.99. I CALLED BACK TO MAKE SURE BEFORE HE DROVE 25 MINUTES TO PICK UP. THE SAME GUY ANSWERED AGAIN AND TOLD ME THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE AND SOMEONE HAD CALLED ALREADY ABOUT THE SAME THING. MY HUSBAND CALLED BACK TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN TOLD 2 DIFFERENT THINGS. THE SAME GUY TOLD HIM NO HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE AND WHAT WAS UP WITH PEOPLE CALLING ABOUT AN AVALON WASHER CAP. VERY RUDE AND LIED AT FIRST ABOUT HAVING THE CAP.

Lazy workers

Tonight I took oil to O'Reilly's to be recycled, the attendant starts yelling at me asking where I got the oil, I told him out of a tractor, he then states that they only take oil from people who buy oil and starts screaming DIY DIY DIY, I asked what he meant, he screams DO IT YOURSELF, I asked him to show me where it states that as no other employee has asked where the oil came from or if i purchased oil from them and plus I have purchased oil, filters, transmission fluid starters and parts. He said we will no longer take your oil, this is the last time. I told him this will be the last time I purchase anything from this store, there is no reason to act like I stole used oil to bring it in to be recycled.

Worthless workers

They can start by firing everybody in Duncan,ok I delt with them for about 20 years with no problems now I returned a part today that I bought today and they treated me like a criminal for returning the wrong part .it took about an hour to get my money back.ill never trade there again and I will tell everybody I know about them.

Want a store that has 0 experience for automotive help. Run as fast as you can from this establishment, it will save you time and money big time. It's a joke that this Oreilly auto parts is a poor excuse for an auto parts store. High prices, no experienced help, and poor quality parts. If you like getting garbage for service, then this is your kinda place. Enjoy it!

RACIST STAFF

first of all, the staff working here are not educated don’t even have basic education, like example, how to speak to human beings outside that is not the same skin color as them, cos his mentality is still in the 50’s. 2nd of all, A Racist, intimidates people in public, as you probs see if u seen on social media recently their true colors. 3rd telling people to go back to their country when in fact these are the people that are building their crapp¥ country. Only if they educated themselves and seen thier own president cant deport them back, because trump knows the downfall will happen to his country. As everyone knows only the immigrants and colored people are doing all jobs in the US to be lasting whilst the original americans only know how to smoke weed, and be racist, as u can see from the staff at this place, from his disgusting attitude! 4th of all, going back to the phrase “Go back to your country” the answer is, which country, cos our 🍉 country is the one you are constantly attacking, destroying the middle east and the brass neck you have to say “Go Back! Maybe stop touching what’s ours, including babies, cos u have a thing for babies clearly! 🩸 I’m speechless at the americans illeterate mind, but then again aint suprised they think London is a country 🤣🤣! Replace those lazy men with half the amount of women

I have never been to OReillys and received good service. One visit I went for a oil filter for my Beetle. The filter they said would fit I had purchased before and it was the wrong one. Even though I told them that when I got home I had a different wrong filter even after telling them which one I needed. On this visit today I went for parts but when I walked in there were 4 men standing by a register talking. I asked for my friend Amanda who was in the back working hard putting away freight. She had told me that those guys were bullies and mean to her. I went back out front and said that she could use some help she was working so hard. The guys said while laughing "That's what women are good for." WTH" If that's the case those 4 men should be fired and replaced with 2 good women because it would only take 2.

Bad business in London Ky

They checked my husband's battery and it showed a dead battery so he purchased a new one and 2 boy's came out to put a new one in and in the process of doing so one of the boy's leaned against my husband's bug shield and broke a big chunk out of it. This happened in London Ky. They ordered him a new one but said he would have to put it on himself or pay someone else to install it. In my opinion that's bad business when you break something on a customers vehicle you replace it and have it installed for them at no charge since they broke it and calling customer service was no help at all it was a waste of time calling them.

honors warranty

Needed a separate starter battery (vehicle has two)
reasonable price and quick install. Battery failed during
warranty period. It happens they sell them, they dont make them. They had a new battery under the warranty delivered for install within a few hours and
were helpful working with shop.

Horrendous Service

I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts today, on S Miami Blvd in Durham NC. I was trying to use my Synchrony Car Care card, and the employee assisting me was unfamiliar with the process. Instead of trying to understand or resolve the issue, he became belligerent—yelling at me, the computer, and even his coworkers in the back, who never came to help. At one point, he was hitting and unplugging the computer, making the situation worse. When I needed help finding a part on the shelf, he refused to assist and just motioned in the general direction of where the parts "should" be.

To make matters worse, he called another worker on the phone and complained, essentially threatening to quit. Later, a worker named Chris arrived and attempted to assist, but when I asked him if the car outside was still running (as I couldn't turn it off without securing a new battery, knowing it wouldn’t restart), he gave me a rude, dismissive response and a look of disgust. When I expressed that I didn’t appreciate his attitude, he became hostile and accused me of being the one with the problem. All I was trying to do was explain the poor treatment I had received from his coworker earlier.

Chris then had the audacity to tell me not to "antagonize" the other worker, completely disregarding my concerns. There was a line of customers witnessing this entire interaction, and I have never felt so disrespected by employees of a business I was supporting.

Adding to this, Chris completely dismissed any explanation I provided about how the Synchrony Car Care card works. When I contacted Synchrony, they asked for the merchant's code to troubleshoot, but Chris flat-out refused to provide it. This left me unable to complete my transaction or resolve the issue.

After this ordeal, I spoke to some local mechanics who have a business account with O'Reilly, and they were familiar with how the first worker behaves. They advised me to bypass him in the future and go directly to the lady in the commercial department. While this advice is helpful, it’s unacceptable that customers have to navigate around employees to receive decent service.

This experience was completely unacceptable, and I will seriously reconsider ever shopping at O'Reilly again.

I recently visited the O'Reilly Auto…

I recently visited the O'Reilly Auto Parts in Zephyrhills, FL, to purchase a new battery, expecting the advertised "free battery installation" service. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Despite buying the battery, the staff refused to install it, claiming they were "too busy." However, it was clear they were more interested in playing on their phones than helping customers.

It’s frustrating to see a business advertise a service they aren’t willing to provide. If you're going to promise free installation, make sure your employees are trained and motivated to deliver on that promise. I'll think twice before returning to this location.
