I was thinking about taking a Plumbing course up when I came in to having more time during and after the COVID, but as the new year started I was unable to find the time to study and keep my mind focused while working a retail job and a landscaping job, but overall there was aspects of the course that was mostly common sense and explained

Poor Customer Service – Not Worth the Money

If I knew how poor the support would be, I would’ve never signed up. The sales team painted a great picture, but once you’re in, you’re left to figure things out on your own — all while paying a huge sum each month.

No updates, no proper guidance. I called customer service to ask about my NVQ progress, and the guy I spoke to, Anthony, just said, “You’ve not completed yet, so I don’t know.” No help, no effort — just passing me off.

One of the tutors didn’t even sign off my work properly, which held me back. When I called to report it, again, no real support. It feels like once they get your money, they stop caring.

For the amount we’re paying, this level of service is unacceptable. Learners deserve better.

I got to module 10 on the Electricians course and I have given up. Cancelled my direct debit and I’m looking for another course provider. The RIC modules are not written well at all and they are very disorganised, no clear lesson objectives, no numbered contents sections, no numbered indexes at the back of the workbooks. The modules flit from subject to subject with no clear path at all and are excessively wordy. After a year of studying I don’t really understand oí have to do next to become qualified and I’ve wasted over £2000 in course fees. I rang to speak to a tutor yesterday and I got a Gas Tutor again as there were no Electrical Tutors answering the phones… again!
The IT system the course is on is NOT iPad compatible in some modules. And finally I’ll add that the RIC courses and modules are not symbiotic with other literature available or the information you can find on the internet. Badly worded test questions exist which make progress very frustrating.
It’s a shame, RIC obviously have good, experienced people in Electrical but the course isn’t written in a way that makes it easy to study. The whole thing needs re-formatting into bite size modules that drill in real life examples of calculations and practice.

I enrolled with Routes Into Construction and paid over £4,000 towards the course. Due to personal illness and family responsibilities, I was unable to engage with the course content as much as I intended. I contacted the company to cancel due to genuine financial hardship and requested flexibility, but was told I must still pay a 3-month termination fee, even after over a year of payments and minimal course usage.

Despite raising legitimate concerns and requesting consideration under the Consumer Rights Act, the company refused to show flexibility and responded with defensive and borderline intimidating language, including warnings about defamation when I mentioned leaving an honest review.

This experience has been deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this provider to anyone who may face unexpected circumstances, as there is no real support or empathy once you’re locked into a contract.

Hello people I was also scammed by this fraudulent company they stated the same thing that I’d be free to leave during the cooling off period which I did ask to do so and they turned round and said I’d have to pay £4,000 pounds to be able to leave. I’ve been going back and forth with them as well as a debt agency they use to make sure your making payments to them I thought as me disputing them it should scare them to refund me and cancel my course but no it did nothing. I’m writing this to inform whoever has been scammed to reach out to me as I want to form a group complaint and take them to court what they are doing is wrong and they need to be abolished as a company. I’m planning to hire a solicitor to take them head on and earn everybody’s money back if you are interested and want to help put an end to this scamming company please leave a way for me to contact you as Trustpilot do not allow you to put your email in the review

They have changed their website from ricstudy.co.uk to ricstudy.com and completely deleted the website of ricsrudy.co.uk and don't know my username off by heart as it's number and letters and now I can't get in contact with them. I'm very worried and need a contact number for them. Help someone please

The access to a tutor isn't exactly great. I've tried contacting a tutor on a few occasions and can't remember actually getting any valuable assistance, even when I do finally reach the right person.

Today I have a full day in which I can't really do much else so was wanting to spend the entire day going through the online training, which is no longer issued in paper form to apparently save the planet. The servers are down so I can't access the learning material. I've contacted someone from RIC and told them the issue that they aren't aware of. I was told I'd get a call back once the issue has been looked into, not sure when that call will be.

Most of these reviews are from pissed off people trying to cancel the course- you sign a contract like you would any other credit lender, like car insurance for example.

For people who actually want to do the course, it's great! The material is useful and the tutors are helpful.

Their website is down at the moment, like any other company experiencing technical difficulties- Please take the angry reviews with a pinch of salt. They only annoyed because they can't commit to something!

This company is a scam they just want your money and the people who come to enrol you don’t tell the truth the company are here to rinse your pockets and give nothing.
I got told that i can cancel the course whenever i want which was told by the person who enrolled me, i call them a month into the course and they said im not allowed to cancel and have to pay £2000 to cancel the course.

The worst decision I've ever made. I've to cancel the direct debit after I realised I have been scammed! Well over £2000 gone!

The best company for getting into construction, so supportive and the communication is quick fire. Always there to help when I need something and to assist me also. Would highly recommend 10/10

This is a scam and nothing else can describe this company .false advertisement in other to put you in terrible contract. My worst decision ever ..very rude customer service who keeps raising their voice at you when you try to reach out ..
I won’t advise my enemy to have anything to do with them.I wish I read other peoples experiences before proceeding..

Awful company. First of all please note that a good 98% of the good reviews written on here are so obviously written by paid people or people who work for the organisation. The customer service is poor I ended up paying 1.5k for one workbook asked to cancel and it was a nightmare and half. Do not reccoemend. Worse training provider ever and surprised they haven’t been shut down yet someone definitely need to take them court or something :)

This company/college is a nightmare. The sales people promise you that you can cancel at any time which is not true. Once signed up and the 14 days are over that’s it. The second thing that is really horrendous is their payment department. The customer service is saying contact the bank payment department and they don’t respond. It takes weeks for them to answer an email. Usually you have to write to them 5-7 times for them to respond. The customer service department is a little better but they have no clue. At least the respond to your requests and I hope they Gary the login and payment link sorted soon.

The Electrician course itself isn’t very good structured and the tutors are hard to get hold of too. I’ve been on the course but I have decided to go with another training provider that offers more support. Your course questions hardly get answered and your assignments are checked very slowly.

Upon my experience I would not recommend them to anyone if you want to focus on learning go somewhere else they are a waste of time and money only after your 7K in fees. Absolutely no good experience.

Absolute rip off company there sales people talk crap and tell you you can cancel at any point which is a lie . When you talk to them on the phone the staff are rude

I have been enrolled over 2 years now and never had any issues or complaints regarding tutors ,booking practical sessions or attending the centres ,really good customer service experience throughout staff and tutors at practicals ,had an issue with a sessions but was quickly and swifly sorted out by the team without hassle, definitely going for level3 heads up and would recommend Routes into construction to néw students .

I've had numerous problems with these too is viktor still about on here how do I contact you or anyone else that has had a good outcome from these c****s I'm in arrears they ring me up everyday even after they phoned me yesterday I'm wondering if anyone has taken action on this company it's owned by Sevenoaks,jamie Lewis or has anyone won a case about them viktor try reply please contact jamiehawman 2017@ gma** .com they also phoned me off 2 different numbers first was 0808 yesterday and then the second 0141 today exactly the same person which states glasgow

In general this company needs to change in terms of practical sessions where there should be more practical and less theory. Also they need to book students in quicker so people can progress going into the course.

Paying £190 a month for f*** all basically, all I've been doing is H&S related stuff. I've learnt more and done more just by going out onto site with my Dad and working with him, the fella who come to the house and sold this to me waffled so much sh*te about it being the best thing since sliced bread, he made out like I'd be in the workshop within a few months doing practical's, yeah well that's not happened, oh and if you fail a test you're locked out of it for a WEEK, so that's near £50 WASTED if you're looking the cost on a weekly breakdown, f***ing bollochs to be honest, If you're thinking of coming on board with these f***ers then just DONT, go to any other company, oh and the Customer Service agents have room temp IQs.
