Scrimba has a really cool in-browser code editor that makes learning fun, but the yearly price feels a bit high. You can find similar courses elsewhere for a one-time purchase at a much lower cost. And honestly, you can get the same practice by coding on your own laptop with free tools like VS Code.

I’ve actually had a very good learning experience so far and have learned a lot — until I reached the ES6 JavaScript course. The instructor constantly refers to himself as a “coding god,” which I really dislike. He frequently brings religious references into the course instead of simply providing professional, focused content.

I had purchased tons of courses on other platforms, but I always finished them feeling like I did not learn much. I heard good things about Scrimba, so I gave it a try. Suddenly I was actually learning the content. The principle is called active recall. We learn by doing, and being challenged on what we just learned, and Scrimba does an amazing job weaving that directly into all the content. The concept of the Scrim is also amazing, and brings the learning closer to home as well. It also helps that the instructors are personable and actual humans. Scrimba has made me a better developer, and I am excited they are adding backend courses soon.

The best platform out of all the ones I've tried, with the most practical and useful tutorials on the internet today. Endless value!

I love it! For the first time, I find coding courses really clear for me!

I originally had issues subscribing to the Pro access where I was charged for it but I did not get access to the Pro account. I reached out to the support team and the support person was rude and careless. After escalating my ticket, I finally got ahold of someone that was very nice and fixed all my problems very quickly and apologized for the behavior of the first person.

As for the content, so far I really like the product and how interactive it is.

Scrimba is the best place for learning React!

I believe that Scrimba is one of the better places to learn programming. Most courses offer video after video in hopes you would practice on your own. With programming you have practice daily to build muscle memory. That's exactly what Scrimba offers, you watch bite size videos and right after learning something new, you are required to put it into practice. It's proven that this method of learning makes better developers. I recommend Scrimba to everyone.

The course content itself is very high quality, but Scrimba avoid giving any facility to cancel, so once they have your card details they will continually attempt to take subscriptions each & every month.
So for THAT reason, I suggest all avoid signing up until Scrimba start respecting consumer’s rights.

I am in the middle of the beginners CSS course. I also did the React one. Scrimba are the best providers in my opinion because : they break the course into manageable chunks, they test you as you go along and they provide solo projects, which you may need to subscribe to and I did and found it hugely rewarding.

Pressure tactics to get you to continue with the course, no way of having a break from the course, threats to close my account down and charge full price to what new paying customers are paying. Very poor.

Scrimba courses are decent for complete beginners, but after some level of learning, i think the ROI becomes less, The course lessons are divided into so many pieces that it takes a toll on learning. The number of advanced courses are very less and they are not great as their beginners course.

Review for website UI - I really think Scrimba UI is very revolutionary, to have editor and presentation together and ready to edit feature is excellent, but right now it is very buggy, sometimes i cannot edit the editor until i refresh the page, i also had console blocking my lesson view and if i raise a bug it takes more than a month for someone to respond. I hope they fix these issues and not everyone will be active on discord or other platforms. The turnaround time for bug reporting should be improved in scrimba website.

I still recommend Scrimba for getting introduced to a topic but nothing else.

Scrimba is nice for beginners. I took mostly the frontend stuff and CSS. But there are 2 main things I'm not too fond of.
1. While teachers like Kevin Powell are great, others talk to you like you are a 5-year-old. This isn't very pleasant.
2. The exercises are too easy, its just too easy to do and in a live world example it won't really help you think logically because most of the times your boss won't leave you a comment on what to do with that for loop you just created. While this is nice at the start after a few modules or lessons this should be changed to something more challenging so it reflects the real job you are going to have.

I LOVE THE PLATFORM. I love how i can pause the video anytime anywhere and just work on the code on screen without any hassle! Defn recommend it to someone starting their career in frontend!

Scrimba is a great platform for learning web coding as well as other technical skills. I'm an experienced developer, but had never done web programming. Scrimba made it easy to get started and provides bite-size lessons so you can learn at your own pace. I recommend both beginners and experienced devs learn web programming using Scrimba.
