Ohne Ankündigung wurde einfach eine Rechnung über den fünffachen Preis geschrieben. Auf Nachfrage wurde einfach darauf verwiesen das ich ja kündigen kann.

Wow! Excellent Service Every Time!

The customer support team is very friendly and helpful. They are available 24 hours a day and they are in contact with you in seconds. In the past 13 years with Servage, I have had about 4 major problems and each time the issue was resolved quickly. Most of my questions are answered on their blog and the web service is very affordable. I often recommend this company to anyone seeking a web host.

Nicht zu empfehlen

Nicht zu empfehlen! Finger weg!

Ich hab es probiert. Nochmal. Ich war vorher schon mal Kunde und war zufrieden. Jetzt habe ich mit meinen Projekten aufgehört, weil Servage den Preis gehoben aber die Leistung stark reduziert hat.

Es gab dauernd Ausfälle, selbst bei den "geschenkten" Monaten. Ich hätte lieber mein Geld wieder für die letzten Jahre. Das ist eine Frechheit und Zumutung.

Die einfachsten Sachen funktionieren dort nicht.
Wordpress wird angeboten mit Auto-Installer aber es läuft sehr langsam. Und: Als Grund wird angegeben, dass das der Standard-Arbeitsspeicher ist. Das Optimum von Wordpress liegt doppelt so hoch. Da tu ich doch nicht so als könne ich das irgendwie in guter Qualität anbieten.

Servage hat mir echt die Lust genommen eigene Projekte zu machen. Das ist richtig schlimm. Und die Hilfe vom Support kommt schnell. Aber auch nur in Form von Links. Hier kannst du das finden. Ja, danke, kenne ich schon aber der geschilderte Weg läuft ja nicht.

Es ist bekannt, dass es Raum für Optimierungen für Ladezeiten von Wordpress Installationen geben kann. Unsere Admins haben bereits an diversen Verbesserungen an den Servern gearbeitet. Daher sollte die Serverseite eine Performance bieten, die unseren Kunden eine gute Geschwindigkeit gewährleistet. Falls es hier noch Handlungsbedarf geben sollte, wird von den Admins natürlich gehandelt. Grundsätzlich hat auch der Support die Möglichkeit, die Installation auf Optimierungen zu prüfen. Neben dem Arbeitsspeicher gibt es hier eine Reihe von weiteren Möglichkeiten. Falls diese Optimierungen bei Ihrem Kontakt mit dem Support nicht besprochen wurden, tut uns das leid. Bitte öffnen Sie ein weiteres Supportticket. Wir können dann weitere Checks vornehmen.

Bezüglich unseres Supports: In Ihrem Interesse möchte unsere Kundenbetreuung Ihnen so schnell wie möglich Antworten und Lösungen geben. Natürlich ist jede Antwort dabei auf das vom Kunden beschriebene Thema abgestimmt und individual verfasst. Sollte es hilfreich zur Problemlösung sein, werden Links zu unserem Helpdesk mitgeschickt. Im Helpdesk System werden Prozeduren Schritt für Schritt und mithilfe von Grafiken beschrieben. Die Erfahrung zeigt, dass dieses Hilfssystem von vielen Kunden positiv angenommen wird.

Got worse after the move. MUCH worse!

I started using Servage back in 2006, looking for a cheaper host offering lots of bandwidth, which was an important feature back then and my website had gotten popular overnight. And it could support what was back then this hip new tool called WordPress. Back then they were supposedly "Europes" favourite.

There were times when they would disable my website due to heavy traffic and write that there were "allot" of requests. There was one enormously huge blooper in August 2011 when they modified my .htaccess file with no explanation, thus making the entire site inaccessible by disallowing hotlinking to ALL file types. I had weird stuff happen with other hosting companies, too. It's only that they kind of always shame the end user when something happens. And this was something nobody would have done to their own website.

Everything else worked OK until the February-April 2019 server migration. During the said move I lost the entire/ wp-content/uploads/ folder from my biggest website with images dating to as long ago as mid-2004! I saw people complain about the same thing and their folders were equally old and large. I asked Servage for my files and they SUPPOSEDLY could not retrieve it. That was the first big no.

But I was not well-off and I needed temporary hosting for other websites I maintain, so I brought them in, too.

It's important to notice that the problems persist only with the website that has been hosted by Servage since 2006. The "new" ones, one of them pretty large, had their own issues, but simple support requests were enough to solve the issues.

Problems with the "old" site continue.

Ever since the move, I have been experiencing glitches whenever I try to update my website, upload something to it and whatnot. 100 Kb images take up to fifteen minutes to upload, they lag at about 10% for a long time at first and they STILL might end up showing as blank placeholders on pages. I keep on getting connection errors when editing one page at time and it takes so, so long to do anything.

For example, it takes twenty seconds to load a post gallery with a single image if I click on a feature image to change it. Twenty.seconds.

Once I press "save" or "publish", it may take up to two minutes for the operation to finish.

Support told me to edit the .user.ini file and increase memory, but this makes no sense. If you have anything even remotely large - it won't work. I don't think that a WordPress website that isn't corporate, commercial or receiving a six-digit number of page views per day actually needs 256 or 512 for anything. It's impossible.

So, wasting time doing super-simple things, such as adding a new post or an image? Yes. And it goes on behind the scenes, too.

The new control panel for the customers lacks an awesome old mySQL one click backup feature as well. One has to access each database separately and back it up through phpMyadmin.

Similarly, you can only download your website to back it up through FTP, which is slow and nowhere near as good as it used to be up to early 2019.

As others suggested, nothing improved when Servage was purchased by the (in)famous Loopia. We got a new support system which requires us to log twice as if we were not already logged through the control panel and it works even worse than before. I never had two support tickets at the same time, but I was told that you get locked out if you do. That's just terrible, given that one can have different issues on multiple websites.

I am planning to move my stuff someplace else once I have money to spare and so should you! Every penny is precious in 2020.

OMG! "Was very nearly about to pay them for shared hosting tomorrow".

Cant believe what I've just read!!

I just did a search to investigate if Servage is any good or not but thought Google it and see reviews etc.

Form the last 7 reviews I have just read. Think I will pass and search for a stable WordPress server...

Thank you all on Trustpilot as all these reviews are recent and not old.....

So as the saying goes. "There's no such thing as smoke without fire" so if you are reading this be forewarned.

Thanks everyone and will now check all server providers using this website now.

thanks for your comment. We moved all of our customers to our new datacenter some months ago. The transition came with a lot of work and many hurdles had to be overcome to ultimately make the project a success. We are very grateful that our customers made that journey with us – the road was sometimes rocky and bad comments were dropped. However, the move was for good reasons. The aim was to provide an environment which is fast, secure, modern and, last but not least, green and sustainable. We succeeded that project with completion of the data center move.

Of course, we provide stable Wordpress server – it is even super easy to install, upgrade and back up Wordpress via our one-click-installer. You can also adjust your php variables for each host in accordance to your needs. And, if problems occur, we provide a real 24/7 ticket- and chat support which is keen on assisting our customers. Rubbish!

Rubbish!! Been with Servage for 7 years and when the last management SOLD out to Loopia we thought it would improve (LOL) its the same and if NOT worse and NOT worth [ wasting your time ] reading the website, paying to test it, then having a bad experience sending messages to support all the time... go to known Top 10 WordPress servers in online searches

The bottom line, it can't support WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, or Opencart, etc.

Be warned and if reading this after you set up an account with Loopia / Servage? Good luck trying to get your money back....?

It is true that Servage is part of the Loopia group since 2019. However, of course you can run tools like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and many other on our server :) It is even super easy to install, upgrade and back up these tools via our one-click-installer. If you shouldn’t be able to install these tools, you may have to upgrade your PHP version. For hosts which run older PHP versions some tools may not apply. Stay away

Stay away, there's simply no reason to stay with Servage. I created my account with them in 2004 and was a happy customer until things started getting worse and worse. Slow websites, errors, issues with the database. For a time you couldn't even pay with a credit/debit card.
Read other reviews and stay away from them, plenty of better options out there.

However, we have no indication that there were recent server issues. If your pages should run slow or your databases are acting up, we ask you to get in touch with our support. The support is available 24/7 and will check your pages to identify the potential bottleneck. We can, among other, check whether some settings need adjustments to make sure that your applications run better.

Related to credit card payments, we checked the settings from our end to make sure that everything runs smoothly. If there are still issues with credit card payments, we need a brief ticket related to that and we can take a look here as well.

Ive been with Servage for 14 years

Ive been with Servage for 14 years.
Last couple of years just been getting worse and worse.
Support is bad, websites are slow - hanging - offline - etc.
Extremely frustrating and now looking to other provider.
Shocking how badly downhill servage has gone.
This was once a great host provider.

Stay away

Stay away! I have been client with them for 12 years and will be leaving now. Fed up with not being able to send/receive emails for 3-4 weeks and in general many periods of downtime. I paid for a service and their support desk just don't care, at best you get arrogant replies back. It is having some resemplance of a scam by stealing your money for nothing in return. There are much better companies out there so look for yourself

Same bad experience as everybody

Same bad experience as everybody, used to be fine but TERRIBLE since early 2019... no emails, sites down for 2-3 weeks...i guess on average it doesn't work at least ONE FULL WEEK per month… AVOID at all cost.

Very bad provider. Not worth a star

Very, very bad. I have been a customer for years without any issues. Service was perfect but the past weeks have been hell. I have lost some customers and i will hold servage responsible. I want my money bad and a claim.
I cant keep coming up with the same constant excuse that the server is down every time i get a phone call from a client. This is very frustrating and damaging.

Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen!

Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen!
Ich bin/war lange Jahre Kunde bei Servage, jedoch was in den letzten Monaten abgeht ist nur mehr als unzumutbar zu beschreiben!
Keine Woche vergeht, wo nicht ein mindstens mittelgroßes Problem auf den Mailservern vorherrscht. Teilweise ist das Mailservice über fast 48 Stunden und noch länger NICHT für den Kunden nutzbar (auch nicht via Webmail)... Dann schleichen sich so nette Sachen ein, dass man Mails doppelt, dreifach und noch viel öfters ins Postfach bekommt.
Zu alle dem kommt auch noch eine absolut grottig langsame Performance von Web und auch Mailserver dazu.
Support ist abolut unfähig und dreist, verweist nur bei einem Problem auf eine Status Webseite hin -> das kann man mit einem Autoresponder auch erreichen
Absolut dreist fand ich und da warte ich noch auf eine Antwort der Datenschutzbehörde, die Frage in einem Ticket, dass man im Ticket eine Mailbox MIT Passwort (eh nur zur Überprüfung ...) darlegt? Also spinn ich??? Am liebsten hätten sie dann wahrscheinlich auch noch meinen PIN der Geldkarte etc...

Ein Stern ist eigentlich 2 Sterne zuviel!

Für mich sind die Tage auf jeden Fall gezählt bei diesem naja nicht wirklich vertrauenswürdigen "Provider" irgend ein Service in Anspruch zu nehmen

Very very bad provider. Avoid !

Been with servage for many years, they where good but now they are very very very bad. Once again I cannot reach my E-mails.
Why can't I give zero stars ? 1 star is 1 star to many for this company.
I am moving to another provider.

Been with them for 15 years: Servage was a very good hosting company, with an excellent tech support.

Now they are very, very, very, very bad!

I've lost all email accounts, all databases, all files. A nightmare.

Shame on you!

They were very good 13 years ago up…

They were very good 13 years ago up until about 2 years ago when I started seeing more and more outages.

To the point of "today" October 15th, 2019 - I finally capitulate to find another host. The last year specifically was a nightmare..

Nothing works properly anymore since the migration, which in itself was a disaster, to say the least.

I feel sorry now that I waited that long. Quit nearly 6 months ago yet still gave them one more chance - oh, what am I saying: more than a few chances - until today. Again, just the generic reply to the ticket. Of course also no time frame, not even estimation when anything will work again.

I lost a lot of time and money because of their disaster - I will not renew my account now anymore. Plus, how on earth could they justify the price hike? They should be reimbursing their customers.
After 13+ years with Servage - what a shame witnessing a good company turn so very sour.

They used to be ok until this year

Was with them since around 2000 but ditched them after the debacle this year when everyone lost access to thier accounts. Took months to sort it out. Once I got my log in back I moved everything to another host. Avoid this company if you want a stable service.

Great if you like downtime

If you're a fan of downtime, then Servage is for you! They offer the best downtime your money can buy. 36-48 hours of your websites and emails being down, at least a hand full of times a year is just spectacular; there's no better way to lose business than with Servage!

But wait, there's more!!!
If you hate great customer support, hate getting responses right away and hate your issues being solved by competent people, then take advantage of Servage's amazing customer support service! Whenever you submit a ticket, you don't have to worry about being bothered with a response, although every once in a while they'll get back to you a few months down the line, but I can look past that for such a great price.
