I have just moved into a property in Addlestone rented through Seymours Estate agents. The landlord of this property is Runnymede council. As is usual, when I placed the offer, a holding deposit of 1 weeks rent (£300) was taken , and the referencing process was started. On passing the references, my moving date was agreed as the 12th of February. usually, the 1 week that the agent had taken as a commitment deposit is decuted from the moving in funds of 1 months rent and 5 weeks deposit. However, the landlord, Runnymede council, informed me that they had copied in Seymour Estates to this email to return the 1 week deposit to me, and in the meantime, I had to pay the full funds to the landlord. I did as suggested, and the landlord had instructed the agent to refund the 1 week that same day (12th Feb).

It is now 2 weeks later, and everytime I call Seymour estates, they either ignore my call by saying accounts team are not available, or tell me I have to wait 3-5 working days... today they told me this for the third time. I have now contact the property ombudsman, and will be sending them a letter before action for this disgraceful behaviour.

Seymours handled our house sale very professionally, and were always available with advice to make the whole process as smooth as possible.
They have an excellent knowledge of the local area, which is great for non-local families.
The marketing and publicity were excellent, enabling us to negotiate a fair price. The team was responsive at all times - vital for a complex process such as a house sale!
We are happy to recommend them unreservedly.

The Seymours – Woking was given the whole combo of bad experience you can get from an estate agency. They gave me Inventory report in the beginning, and I was assuming the LL is aware of all damages; comes up there were 4-5 blurry photos and they charged me for the scratches from previous tenants.
There was no water & electricity one weekend, and no one answered the emergency nr. – why wasn’t I surprised?! they answered the email on Monday 10Am saying someone will be coming to check after lunch.
They use photos in the advert from when the flats were refurbished several years ago; people travel from another city to find a dilapidated flat for inflated prices. Good luck to whoever takes a risk to rent from them!

Seymours did a very good job for us in selling a flat. They were energetic and attentive. They got the sale through in challenging circumstances. Particular praise for Clive Gee, Luke Minto and Simon Kelso.

The team worked as one. A long haul but the end is in sight.

I have been attempting to purchase a 2 bed since October last year. During which we discovered a defective lease that my lender rejected my mortgage for.

Seymours hid their knowledge of this defective lease along with an awareness that the managemeny company does not want to budge on changing it.

Information like this should be provided to anyone who makes an offer, a company that is willing to lie about something that can harpoon a sale like this is not to be trusted and I will never be using their service again.

The reason I selected Seymours to market my property over other agents was due to the volume of helpful data provided for valuation and the "testing of the water" on the value with a few viewings which enabled us to adjust the marketing price before it went online and I had several viewings with two offers very quickly. The Sales Progression Team (in my case Clive and Tracy) were very helpful throughout. The reason I haven't given this 5* is because I understood from my buyers later that the agent that showed them around my property knew very little about it and a point I wanted all viewers to know about was NOT made clear and could have jeopardised the offer that I had accepted.

Seymours did a fantastic job marketing my property. They were always courteous, timely and helpful without being pushy. Everyone involved was friendly and helpful at all times. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to others.

Exemplary service throughout the whole experience . Always notified regarding upcoming viewings and comments from prospective buyers afterwards. Honesty and integrity throughout the process Certainly a far better experience than I had with a different agent 20 years ago.
