One star is generous, slow, difficult to deal with, on the purchase of a piece of land known to us, they carried out a raft of searches that were not necessary, did not adhere to our instructions with regard to indemnity insurance from the vendor, and then tried to charge more than quoted. and the SDLT form is still not correct !

If your call is not related to making a payment, expect to be waiting on their call line for a barest minimum of 2 hours (most times even closer to 3 hours)

If you've been awarded with a public contract from Companies House, the least you could do is hire enough people to work on your phone lines

It isn't fair to have people waiting so long when we have no other option to settle issues related to the filing company accounts (particularly if there are time pressures related to this call).

This isn't acceptable.

Shocking communications and the concept of Customer Service clearly bypassed the induction process, HR team and Senior Management. Avoid after six months of rubbish communications.

I deal with lawyers, attorneys, and solicitors worldwide, and I've never encountered such unprofessional legal representation in all my life.

ShakespeaerreMartineau / Lime Solicitors represented me in a civil lawsuit against a school's negligence in a childhood abuse case. They were handed my case when my previous solicitor retired. The first thing they did was ensure that the school outside the settlement paid all their legal fees - outside of the settlement amount. This ensured they were paid a nice fee and allowed them not to care as much about any settlement amount. So when the school's representatives offered a settlement with seven days to respond, my Shakespeare Martineau attorney failed to pass it along promptly and professionally.

After requesting I deal with another solicitor within the company, I was denied; consequently, I accepted the school's offer, not because it was a fair amount but because I didn't want to have to deal with ShakespeaerreMartineau / Lime Solicitors any further. That decision cost tens of thousands, but it was worth not dealing with such unprofessional incompetence.

In being handed the case, my attorney still made me go through hours of detailed interviews with therapists and resubmit all paperwork and receipts from doctors from decades ago. This was after a successful criminal conviction, with police interviews and reports. It was a painful and arduous task with the information they had previously had, and I realized it was causing me more trauma in dealing with my own solicitors.

The solicitor's communication, or lack thereof, was exceptionally slow, and I complained numerous times.

When I officially complained to the company through the proper channels, they didn't respond promptly according to their policies.

In my criminal case, the school teacher received 18 years in jail, and seeing the British justice system work was the best day of my life. My one regret in the case was engaging ShakespeaerreMartineau / Lime Solicitors to act as my representatives.

I'm writing to you so you won't make the same mistake I made!

Terrible service - they do not answer the phone. Also if you leave a message they will not call you back.

I have called 3 times, been on hold as caller number one first time 2 hours, then 1 hours then 3 hours. Shocking customer service, Companies House must find an alternative supplier.

I have also emailed them but no response.

I am a chartered accountant trying to pay a client's late filing penalty. Over the last week I have called 3 times to pay the bill. The first two times, I was 12th and 15th respectively in the queue. It took 15 minutes approx to progress one place...I could not wait 3 hours. There is a message saying please leave a message and we will call you back. I did this at the first failed attempt to get through and I am still waiting for a call back, days later.

Today I rang at 8.00,the start of business per their correspondence and to my delight was number 1 in the queue. My call was answered at 8.26.

Supreet, who took my call was a delight, very efficient and helped me to make the payment. Shakespeare Martineau - you need more Supreets or Companies House should take this work away from you.

3 hours on hold!!!

A company that chases for payment but doesn't reply to any emails, or pick up the phone.

Been on hold a total of 3 hours 28 minutes, started at 9th position in the phone queue and only moved up to 4th in the queue.

Sadly another "transferee" from NBM whom I engaged in September last year to transfer ownership of my flat. Delays were mainly down to Lewisham council (poor before Covid, disastrous since) and was aware that NBM was closing before Christmas.

Supposedly the files had been transferred to Hutchins but when I checked 2 or 3 months back, they disclaimed any knowledge of our business. As very little had been paid for no progress, I engaged a local solicitor as replacement. For the last 2 weeks I have received numerous emails from Shakespeare Martineau that look like they have been written by a scammer rather than a professional law firm (Come to think of it, is there a difference?) seeking "information" and inviting me to "click below for an easy and secure way to complete the steps required to proceed with your matter" (without indicating what the "matter" is). As the email comes from a dubious source, I am guessing that I am being invited to a follow a link where scammers (lawyers?) steal my information and/or my money

On 14 February 2024 the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“the SRA”), exercised a statutory power by intervening into the law firm Nigel Broadhead Mynard. In summary, the primary objective of the intervention is to protect client data and monies. We act on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

WHAT
I have called this company constantly, sent them emails not returned. They have been appoint by the SRA, the reason stated is to protect clients. Can something explain on what basis they made this appointment? What is their qualification, obviously customer service is not one of them. They combard me to date: 20 emails asking for me to make contact but no one is available. Looks like another QANGO insider job, I had no problems personally with Nigel Broadband Solicitors can't say the same about Shakespear Martineau. We want accountability not rhetoric!

Company never answers the phone and when they do you get fished around to multiple different departments none of which know what they're doing with their jobs

Rubbish,pretentious customer service, terrible communication skills, I wont be using them again

No care or concern for anyone. I've been trying to call them for 4 DAYS! On hold for over an hour on a few occasions, left voice messages on 3 SEPARATE PHONE NUMBERS and filled out the enquiry form about 12 times as no one there has the decency to call you (despite saying they will within 2 hours). After over 24 hours STILL NO CONTACT!

Absolutely pathetic, I cannot believe our tax £'s are being used to pay a company like this.

I have received a MCOL for late filing fees - fair enough a mistake was made. I'm trying to rectify it, but have spent DAYS worrying about the payment. MCOL don't give an option to make a payment, this Shakesperian company with clearly ancient working methods don't have any payment option and it is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE to treat people this way.

I sincerely hope that Companies House take a long hard look at who they employ to operate for them, this firm is a joke and I would advise you to look elsewhere for ANY SERVICE THEY OFFER.

If they can treat someone that is TRYING TO PAY THEM, in this way and with such DISDAIN AND DISRESPECT, PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANY SERVICE! They know we have to contact them and pay, they simply DO NOT CARE!

One day it may be you who accidentally misses a payment and then has to use these clowns, they are an awful example and an absolute DISGRACE. I honestly have NEVER experienced anything like this, it is unbelievable.

DO NOT I say DO NOT USE this absolute joke amd shambles of a company, they have the audacity to send me a email saying I haven't corresponded with them, well in fact I have done on many occasions to try and sort an issue out, they have ignored my emails and never ring back when promised they would. And believe it or not they are the main agent/solicitors for the corrupt company "CADENT GAS" who thinks it's acceptable to charge over 600 quid for a Job, when in fact the parts were only £1.64. Three blokes turned up and only one Carried out the work, yet I'm billed over £600. As of today 16th February I have rung this joke company 3 times and have had no call back or correspondence back, apart from "if you don't pay we will proceed to legal proceedings" so basically threatening court, when in fact you can't actually speak to a proper human being who understands the Real world. Iv even offered a payment plan twice and both times its been ignored by cadent themselves and these unworthy so called solicitors. Il ring again Monday and if no joy, il send them a bill for time out of work and phone calls, and time spent writing and sending emails, I'm sure I can soon rack up a nice 3/4 figure sum for them like they do.

Terrible to deal with. No-one calls you back when you leave a message on their system. I'm always caller No 7 everytime I call them, strange.
Emailed 10 days ago - no reply.
They claim to have a judgement against us that we have no trace of from them or their client. Awful

I received a threatening letter from this company regarding a ‘debt’ that was paid some years ago. I have phoned the number on the letter, but not answered, I left a message but got no response. I have contacted an alternative office who couldn’t help but assured me they would look into it, still no response. I have emailed but had no reply. This is so frustrating.
Obviously this company doesn’t care about reviews, there’s plenty of business around so who cares.

The senior staff who work here are not supportive of their junior members.

The audacity of turning up to my fathers funeral as a friend, makes this whole situation all the more insulting.

We instructed these people to deal with my fathers probate, a large part of his estate having to do with an ongoing litigation regarding his ex partners. Come to find out one of said ex partners is working for the bloody firm and no one thought it appropriate to mention it to us. To make things even worse, they then lied about their knowledge of said litigation and claimed they knew none of the details, despite having had lengthy discussions and documents in their possession.

I am disgusted at the behaviour. Since my father’s death I am learning that there really are no good people left in the world.

After my negative review and experience, the next day a very friendly lawyer called me from the company and sorted my case out. He was efficient and cleared things up for me. I was very satisfied after all. It started slowly but went well after all :-)

This company has been dealing with my divorce proceedings and I can safely say they have been extremely unprofessional and not helpful. They asked me to pay a retention fee upon signing their terms and conditions which I have done without any delays and in the same manner with any of the invoices they have sent since. I knew they are retaining some of my money as I have paid every single invoice in a timely manner. Upon completion of my divorce I have asked for my bill - well it has now been 2 months I have been waiting for them to send me the bill and refund me my money. I have called several times to speak to my solicitor and ask for this and was told she is either not there or sick, the accounts team also not able to respond. On the 21st of May they told me that they had finally resolved their billing issues and will send me a bill next week - it’s now been 10 days and nothing came through. They are unreliable, unprofessional and they don’t communicate - once they don’t need to invoice you any further they will not treat you like a client and you will be waiting for a response for months on end. Please do try to avoid and search for a trusted company if you don’t want to add to the stress and anxiety.
