Sam and his team did a wonderful job replacing our warm air unit heating system with combi boiler central heating.

Some minor amendments noted after the job and Sam was quick to arrange for the team to come round and correct.

We used SJW Plumbing for a bathroom repair involving removing and refitting tiles and replacing a shower tray, and overall I’m very happy with both the work and the service.

From the start, communication was good and the quote was clear and in the range we were expecting. The main work was done to a high standard — they managed to remove and refit the tiles without damage, which I know isn’t easy. There was a small issue when fitting the doors where a tile was damaged, but they arranged for it to be repaired properly, which I appreciated.

The only real problem was the initial silicone finish, which wasn’t up to scratch at all. I raised this with them and held back the final payment, and to their credit they were completely reasonable about it and sent someone back to remove and redo it properly, no arguments and no hassle.

More recently, when a flat below reported a leak, they also came back out to check their work thoroughly, ran the shower for an extended period to be sure, and touched up some sealant as a precaution — even though nothing pointed to their work being the cause. That gave us real peace of mind and helped resolve what was quite a stressful situation.

Mistakes can happen, but what really matters is how a company deals with them, and in our case they were responsive, professional, and took responsibility to make things right. Based on the overall experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others.

Fantastic service, called out on Boxing Day, part ordered and returned to fit part as soon as part had arrived. Can’t thank them enough for the service we received.

First time user of Sam's services. Sam arrived on time, immediately set to work. He cleaned and checked my warm air boiler thoroughly, ensuring the NEST thermostat was fully integrated. Some wear and tear items were notified to me, recommended for a summer visit. Sam cleaned up his workplace, leaving a tidy passage. I can recommend his services, he is very knowledgeable.

We had an ongoing boiler issue that two previous plumbers, both well rated on checkatrade had failed to address, but had charged significant costs for. SJW Plumbing, recommended through word of mouth, spent time diagnosing the problem fully, carried out the actual repairs required and the boiler has functioned perfectly for months since. Outstanding service.

Sam was wonderful, he came out at a weekend within 30 minutes of our call. Identified the problem, got the parts required and fixed the problem within an hour. Total efficiency - very pleased and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Sam installed a new shower pump, his quote was very competitive, his communication skills were excellent. His work was excellent, he was very tidy, removing all used parts, he was very timely and I’d highly recommend him. I’ll definitely use his services again. We had the pleasure of meeting Sam today when we were using SJW for the first time to undertake the annual warm air system service. He was obviously knowledgeable and friendly. He forewarned his arrival and came on time despite traffic delays and did the task efficiently and cleanly. Cetainly no doubt about intending to use SJW again next year.

SJW installed our new AQUAIR warm air system and a gas Combi Boiler, took out the old cold water tank from the loft and the hot tank from the airing cupboard. All done on time and to budget. All work done to a high standard. Highly recommend SJW!,

We thought that we might have to have radiators installed throughout the house, with all the associated disturbance and subsequent redecoration. Delighted with the AQUAIR/Combi boiler system. Continuous high pressure hot water and warm air heating, all installed with zero disturbance to the rest of the house.

I contacted SJW Plumbing to request a quote for installing a new warm air boiler when the fan on my mother's existing boiler stopped working properly and multiple visits from a BG engineer had failed to solve the problem. When Sam came to the house, I explained what was happening. Instead of seizing the opportunity to sell me a new boiler, he told me that he thought the problem could probably be fixed and got out his toolbag. Sure enough, he diagnosed the real cause, rectified it and got everything working again - speedily and efficiently. I was greatly impressed. I also appreciated his courtesy and, above all, his honesty. Sam is a genuinely good, trustworthy heating engineer.

An annoying dripping tap - so a small job but Sam came out, told me what to order and then returned to fit the parts. Whole process was most efficient. Sam was prompt and courteous. I will definitely call next time a need a plumber.
