Disappointed & Concerned – Sobe Burger Orpington Experience

I do not usually leave reviews of this nature, however after my recent experience with Sobe Burger Orpington, I felt it was important to share my concerns in the hope that standards may improve moving forward.

Unfortunately, I was served what appeared to be raw / significantly undercooked food, which was deeply concerning and disappointing. As a paying customer, one expects meals to be prepared safely and to an acceptable standard, particularly when food safety is involved.

Following consumption, I experienced symptoms consistent with food poisoning, which caused considerable discomfort and distress. While I appreciate mistakes can happen in hospitality, incidents involving food safety should be taken extremely seriously.

This experience was particularly worrying for me due to my personal health circumstances. I live with significant medical vulnerabilities and a compromised immune system, meaning that food which may simply upset another person can potentially have much more serious consequences for me.

In addition, I am autistic and live with OCD, and experiences involving contamination concerns, food safety, and unexpected health risks can be especially distressing and overwhelming. Instead of feeling reassured after ordering food, I was unfortunately left anxious and concerned about what I had consumed.

The situation naturally raised several questions for me:

* Were proper food temperatures checked before the meal left the kitchen?
* Were quality control procedures followed?
* Was adequate oversight in place regarding food preparation standards?

I understand restaurants can become busy and errors may occasionally occur; however, serving food in a condition that appears unsafe understandably affects trust and confidence in the service being provided.

I sincerely hope Sobe Burger head office and management take this feedback constructively and review food preparation standards, staff checks, and quality control procedures. No customer, particularly those who are medically vulnerable or disabled, should be left feeling unsafe after ordering a meal.

At present, I remain deeply disappointed by the experience and would appreciate a full refund, compensation, and a clear explanation regarding how this occurred.

I genuinely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future customers have a better and safer experience than I unfortunately encountered.

Burgers we're bland, pinky on the inside, smallest chicken wings I've ever seen. Stone cold chips. The place should be closed down.

Just tried the Truffle Burger and Fries,absolutely delicious,it was still hot after travelling the 8 miles from Chichester,highly recommend this takeaway,can’t wait to try more.👌

Advertising a cheeseburger for £5 on the window and on a board outside. But then saying it’s only Monday to Thursday even though it doesn’t say it on the sign the window or the leaflet. So won’t use this business again.

Buffalo chicken burger is 2 chicken tenders in a shoddy bun with a bit of siracha sauce. Terrible. Especially for the price. Worst rip off ever.

21 minutes late, the food was foul. No sauces to the loaded fries or burgers, no flavour whatsoever and all the food was stone cold. Won’t be ordering again!

Expectation vs reality.
Almost impossible to contact them so I'm writing a review here. I ordered the OG Chicken burger from the Cheltenham location today and it looked nothing like the photo in the menu. The worst burger I've eve had absolutely shocking I wish I could attach a photo!

SoBe started out great when they were introduced pretty much at the time of the pandemic.

Now they advertise photos of burgers with bulging patties that go from one end of the bun to the other end. When receiving this, what you receive is a patty that is half of that size almost.

This is in violation of Consumer Bill of Rights and also our trading standards in the UK and is not ok at all.

I won't be giving my custom to SoBe even if they amend this. This is not a genuine error like products out of stock or wrong product by mistake but shows they are manipulative and creating distrust for the future which is a crap business model.

Ordered the confit garlic cheeseburger but was not expecting that it would come without veg. The burger was cooked to perfection. Too much garlic source though, on the fries. Delivery was on time.

Absolutely disgusting straight to the bin! Got photos as well if I could upload it would be great! By the way ot was a SOBE Balham.

I live in Plymouth and absolutely rate SOBE in Plymouth. While working in Bristol I decided to order from deliveroo not thinking anything of it. It was disgusting, and nothing like sobe I tasted before. Upon investigation there sobe came from a kebab house? And it was basically a cheap frozen chicken fillet. Even the chips were terrible and covered in black crap. The fryer clearly needs cleaning. Was actually really difficult to chase down where my delivery came from. It should be criminal!! Big shame as I've always been so loyal to them.

I have ordered many times before but this took the mickey. I had my order plus a box of Kitchen waste which after going through Justeat I managed to contact the store. They said it was someone's food by mistake. It was off cooked crabstick. Off Frankfurters. Burnt red onion and peppers. Greenford Franchise aka Chicken Guys. I felt sick.

SoBe Burger in Braintree Essex. Ordered through Uber Eats, they managed to get 2 out of 7 items correct. The biggest mistake was the Vegan burger was meat. It does not help you can not call the restaurant, probably why no care goes into it. The food that was correct was disappointing.

Camberley branch ordered via Deliveroo. Food totally not as described, reporting them to local trading standards and food hygiene. Please do not order or buy from this company. Breaches all trading standards rules and regulations. Total misrepresentation by Deliveroo.
Con, theft, disgusting, No refund offered. Pushing my complaint to very department possible.

Seriously a poor experience with overcooked, dry, bland and dire food (with frankly and absolute howler of a bun)
They sell the dream on the website but quite honestly the worst burger I have ever had in Cheltenham.
With the burger scene being exceptional in Cheltenham with Holee Cow and others, this outfit can ill afford to sit on their laurels.
Personally I would avoid at all costs unless they address the quality issues rapidly.

Expect this not to be read, but feel that my Sunday treat was a waste of time and have been robbed in broad daylight.

Horrible experience never order from here again, a simple burger came after 2 hours cold and disgusting!

my burger was dripping in fat and one bite was enough. An apparent treat for the family has turned into a disaster. The only thing that was edible out of the whole order was the chips.
The restaurant details for Sobe are non existent even on their website and can’t write reviews either on website ( I wonder why).
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Order from Gosport Sobe. Most the order was missing. No contact number for the company or placed used. Have to wait for just eats to hopefully refund. As no way to dispute with Sobe directly.
