Created by Abi Selby, Spabreaks.com is a spa booking service working with more than 1300 spa destinations in the UK and overseas and arranging spa days and breaks for up to 6,000 people each week. From a small team of three, we have grown to a family of more than 90 members of staff with an office of knowledgeable spa consultants in Brighton. But those are just the numbers. Spabreaks.com's founding principle was to make the world of spa more accessible to anybody and everybody who wanted to go. We wanted to bring back the ancient purpose of spas as places of sanctuary for mind and body. We wanted to showcase the variety of spa experiences available to every individual, occasion, location and preference. Crucially, we wanted to make spas more accessible to anyone with a major health problem or disability, and work with industry leaders to make sure that anyone who had previously felt marginalised never feels that way again. Over the past decade, that’s exactly what we’ve done. We believe in the many positive benefits of spa experiences and that they can and should be available to help the health and wellbeing of everybody. That’s why we are working to make spas accessible and enjoyable for every body by providing an unrivalled choice of spas and spa packages, through first class service and convenience for all of our customers. Our ‘spa break for every body’ ethos is central to what we do. When we started Spabreaks.com, spas were often seen as the domain of women with too much money and too much time on their hands, and that they were for a stereotypical ‘body beautiful’. We believe that spa experiences are for real benefit to all of us and that spas are places where everyone should feel safe and looked after. We believe they are for everyone at every age, gender, weight and state of wellness, and that there are experiences, treatments and destinations that everybody and every body can enjoy. Non-refundable vouchers

A family emergency came up and I had to cancel, I wasn’t interested in credit and wanted a refund to use for the issue at hand. Vouchers are non-refundable, no exceptions. So that money’s gone down the drain simply because of a strange policy.

We were sincerely sorry to hear about your family emergency, which understandably led to your wish to cancel your forthcoming spa day booking at Macdonald Houstoun House. We fully appreciate how difficult this situation must have been for you, and we are sorry that we were unable to provide the outcome you were hoping for.

As a third‑party booking agent, Spabreaks.com is required to follow the cancellation policies set by each of the 550+ venues we partner with. In this instance, Macdonald Hotels advised that they would only authorise a date change and were not willing to approve a cancellation of your booking.

Because Macdonald Hotels did not permit the cancellation, we were unfortunately unable to cancel the booking on our side. While Spabreaks.com would have been happy to cancel and issue a credit note directly, we were unable to proceed without their authorisation.

Consequently, as Macdonald Hotels did not approve the cancellation, Spabreaks.com was unable to offer your preferred resolution.
Although Spabreaks.com vouchers are non‑refundable after the initial 14‑day cooling‑off period, we would have been more than happy to issue a full credit note had the venue authorised the cancellation.

We are genuinely sorry for the added stress this caused at an already difficult time, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Would book with Spabreaks again!

This is the first time I’ve booked a spa day with Spabreaks and i’m so impressed with the service. I spoke to Bianka who was very friendly in her demeanour and was super helpful and understanding. Absolutely disgusted with this company…

Absolutely disgusted with this company I bought my partner a spa break for mother's day on a deal at the time and added my daughter to go along with her and keep her company, it could be used anytime within a year i think? We my daughter went to add my daughter in-law to go with them and when she's gone to pay they've said the price has gone up on the original deal I paid for so she has to pay more for themselves too? What happened to contracts these just make it up as they go along, I won't be using them again.

We sincerely apologise for the pricing issue you experienced when purchasing your voucher for your spa day at Bannatyne Ashford. I completely understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have been, especially when you were expecting a smooth and simple process.

As a third‑party booking agent, our prices are set by the 550+ spa and hotel partners we work with. In this instance, the Bannatyne group increased their rates after your voucher was purchased. While many venues will honour previously purchased vouchers at the original price, this is entirely at the discretion of each individual venue, and I’m sorry that this was not possible in your case.

Please be assured that your feedback has been taken seriously. We are reviewing this internally and will also be discussing it with xxx to help prevent similar issues from arising in the future.

Sophie at Spa Breaks 5*

I called spa breaks after booking a gift voucher for myself and my wife to do the sunset experience at Celtic Manor.
When going to book online via spabreaks website the experience was no longer there. Sophie took the call and was efficient and attentive and took the voucher details from me and then contacted the spa to arrange the booking for my desired date and time. She the called me back within 30 minutes which is usually unheard of from most companies when they say they will call you back and confirmed that all had been booked.
Appreciate her getting all that sorted so easily 5*

Second time a booking has been…

Second time a booking has been cancelled due to poor communication with venues and money refund will be delayed. Poor unreachable customer service. Trip away in 48 hours and now unlikely to be able to find somewhere of acceptable price. Will not book again. Please be warned of this issue before booking

I booked my spa experience for my mum’s…

I booked my spa experience for my mum’s hen do through Spa Breaks and spoke to a lovely girl called Sophie via the WhatsApp service. It was so easy to do and I managed to give all my preferences and get it booked super quick! Planning a hen do is stressful but this part has been a walk in the park.

All confirmation and booking details came through email quickly, and when I was having trouble with my card when trying to pay I simply gave them a call and they helped as much as they could their end which was great!

I will definitely be using them again, thank you so much!
