Willing to be helpful but sometimes lacking in control and checks over contractors works. A dedicated Maintenance Manager controlling/checking all contractors/suppliers and their works would be good.
This has been an ongoing problem over the years... date specified below bears no relation to my comments.

You can rant all you like, Speirs Gumley, but fact remains that as at February 2025, you had a Trustpilot score of 1-star and none of 2, 3, 4, or 5-stars. You had the lowest score possible. But now, September 2025, your 5-star has risen to a whopping 47%. The positive comments are very clearly BOGUS and intended to boost your TrustScore. I bet you think people who come on Trustpilot to read read comments are irredeemable dopes, don't you? Plus, one does not need to be a client of a company to be able to spot fake comments designed to bolster that company's reputation. I don't know where you got that conclusion from. You and James Gibb are constituent companies of the same umbrella company, the insidious and criminalistic STRATHSPEY CAPITAL. I have nothing further to add.

Proactive management at a reasonable price

Whenever I have been been required to contact staff I have found them engaging, conscientious and keen to help. It can’t be an easy job managing property, especially where owners/tenants may have conflicting views and requirements, but I have always had a great service.

A problem arose due to a Speirs Gumley contractor assigning work to the wrong property. Our new Speirs Gumley PM, Abby Barclay personally picked up the problem, investigated it, and resolved the issue.

Prompt efficient service

On the rare occasions I have had cause to contact S&G, I have always had prompt and courteous responses. Whilst I have not always had the outcome I was seeking, the communication is robust and a solution is always sought.

I own a small property business and Speirs Gumley factor two of the three properties in which I own flats. Without hesitation, I can say that they consistently do an excellent job. To my annoyance, I recently had reason to revisit 2021 when a retrospective question came up from a tax office regarding property expenses. One call to Bruce McKerrow, Property Manager, and I had their complete statement for the relevant 12 months emailed to me, and it made a significant contribution to enabling me to address the potential problem and make it disappear. Thanks, Bruce, and thank you, Speirs Gumley.

Our estate paid into speirs and gumley 2 years ago to fix our entrance walls and we are still waiting on our money back as we eventually did it ourselves.

I have been very impressed by the quality of service of a number of Speirs Gumley personnel in recent times, and over a number of years. I deal regularly with a number of property management companies, some of whom could learn from Speirs Gumley’s hands-on approach to maintenance and communication with owners. Allan Lavery has worked tirelessly and diligently recently on a major project to resolve significant parking issues in a development near to the city centre, and has taken this to successful completion despite a number of challenges. This solution-focused approach to property management is just what owners need and want. Many thanks for this. A special mention also to Cheryl Dearie for the high quality of service, attention to detail and her very proactive approach to communication and maintenance. Megan Kerr also sets a great example in dealing impressively with any issues and for regularly updating owners on all aspects of their property. In an industry where we often hear of the negative aspects of property management, I am very happy to feed back on my overwhelmingly positive experiences with Speirs Gumley.

The property manager we have is exceptional. Her updates are clear, helpful and considered. I have the sense she cares about the property and us as customers.
I recently have had to deal for a prolonged period with another large factoring company and they were awful. It made me appreciate the service I receive from SpeirsGumley even more. No one is perfect nut I am very pleased they are our factors.
This trustpolot review has cone about as I wrote to the area manager to praise our property manager, and SG asked me to complete a review. I rarely complete pnpine reviews but I will as this company make my life easier and I trust them.

I have always found all the staff at Speirs Gumley to be very efficient, professional and helpful. Always quick to respond to any repair requests or concerns I have had. Staff who genuinely care and are there to help you in every way they can, in many cases going that "extra mile". I am extremely impressed and happy with the services they provide. I have complete confidence in Speirs Gumley in looking after their clients and keeping the properties they manage well maintained. 5 stars all the way !

Would rate Mandy M more than 5 stars if it would let me. She is very efficient and you can tell she cares about her residents. She is always willing to help and look for a solution that is best for all. Thanks for everything Mandy :)

I needed information regarding current building work and historical information regarding the building conversion, from factory to flats. The factors were great. They got back to me quickly. Also they assured me they were here to offer any advice or assistance whenever I needed it

The company has been generally helpful and almost efficient . Two of us were pleased to meet our new agent Bruce and found him to be both interested in our ongoing problems and hopeful regarding present propositions. A good meeting.

Spiers Gumley is the property factor managing common repairs, maintenance and insurance for the shared parts of our tenement building.
