Estimated delivery time completely wrong
Ordered a roof window.
The website says estimated 2-3 working days delivery. Only after ordering it did I find out that it was actually 15-20 working days as they have to order it from the manufacturer and the manufacturer sends it.
I would expect an 'estimated' delivery time to be fairly close to the actual time - a few days, not a few weeks.
Their emailed receipt said 2-3 working days, and their website (3 weeks later) still says 2-3 working days even though this product is still not in stock.
Our new roof cannot be finished until this arrives. Had we known the accurate delivery time we would have chosen a different window.
The websites order status says 'shipped', but apparently this only means they have sent the order off to the manufacturer. Completely useless.
All the poor customer service people can say is 'sorry, this is the way the system is set up' or similar. They have been polite, but so far that's the only good thing I can say.
At least other suppliers of this product have the honesty to put the correct timescale on their websites.
Will update this when (if) the window eventually arrives.
Update: Dale in customer services was excellent, trying several times before he managed to get a despatch date from the manufacturer, and keeping me informed by email.
SterlingBuild have responded to my review below, but that reply does not address several of the points in my review.
They say they have updated the website with accurate lead times, but I'm still seeing the 2-3 days estimated delivery.

Regrettably, there are occasions where unforeseen circumstances outside of our control can impact delivery schedules. As advised via email to you today, your order is due to be dispatched on the 13th April, and we have updated the website lead time accordingly.
We work hard to keep lead times as accurate as possible across all ranges, despite the ongoing changes within the logistics and roofing industry.
Please be assured that we are actively monitoring the order and will continue to support you with updates where available until delivery is completed.

Absolutely fantastic experience
Absolutely fantastic experience - we had exhausted all options with both our own builders (and a second building firm we tried just on the off chance!) trying to source a tile that we wanted with no luck. (Rosemary Brindle 3/4 tile) Jamie sourced a batch, a few broke on the first attempt at delivery so he replaced them quickly and efficiently. Without contacting JJ Roofing I honestly believe we would not have been able to source what we needed. THANK YOU

This product was fitted by ourselves, only for the customer to complain and tell us they weren’t happy with how the product had been manufactured. We will now have to source another product and remove yours and install the new all at our cost. Not happy at all.

We do not manufacture rooflights; we are a supplier. Any concerns relating to manufacturing quality must therefore be reviewed by the manufacturer directly.
You contacted us on Friday 6th March and we responded the same day. The reported issue was immediately forwarded to the manufacturer for assessment as advised, which is the correct process for any potential manufacturing concern. We are currently awaiting their response.
As the manufacturer is still reviewing the issue, it is not appropriate at this stage to assume responsibility for any replacement costs. We will continue to assist in resolving the issue once the manufacturer has completed their assessment.

Delivery updates good, product quality is excellent and no issues . As a novice fitting velux blinds a note to say locating points will already be on all velux windows would be helpful. Overall excellent.

Don't limit your search for a Velux product to the Velux website.
I wanted a like for like replacement of a specific type of Velux blind. This was unavailable on the Velux website, but Sterling were able to source this from Velux. So, well done Sterling.

Outstanding customer support
I cannot speak highly enough of the customer service I received from Elena at Sterlingbuild E-Commerce.
Without her professional support, I genuinely don’t think I would have managed to resolve the numerous issues we experienced with the couriers. We had skylights delivered damaged, and on one occasion an expensive wooden skylight was left outside in pouring rain for several hours despite very clear instructions not to deliver before a specified time. The instructions were completely ignored, and the window was left exposed, soaking the timber and causing further delays to our roofing schedule. The entire situation was incredibly stressful and significantly delayed our roofers. However, throughout it all, Elena remained calm, professional, and proactive. She took full ownership of the problems, organised a replacement window quickly, resolved an issue with the Velux solar controller, and ensured everything was followed through properly. Her communication was excellent, and she genuinely cared about getting things sorted. I have another six skylights to order very soon and, after the courier issues, I was understandably hesitant. However, knowing Elena would be handling the order gives me complete confidence that it will be in safe hands. Thank you, Elena, you have been an absolute star!

Estimated delivery 1-2 days more like weeks
They are saying estimated delivery 1-2 working days and it transpired that they sold me a window which they didn't have in stock. Sending you false track delivery details. Really disappointed.
I am sorry I haven't noticed that the essentials part has a different delivery schedule. Today (17th ) the DX delivered collar, insulation and flashing. No window yet. I will see if it comes tomorrow.

You placed an order for 1 window, 1 flashing, and 2 insulation collars on 08.12.2025 at 8.03pm.
The order was processed on 09.12 at 2:55pm - less than 24h after order placing, as per our SLA.
We had both the window and flashing in stock, but had to order the collars from Fakro. The order for the insulation collars was sent to FAKRO on 09.12.2025 at 3:01pm. Both insulation collars are shown on a lead time of 5-7 working days, which meant the window and flashing would then be aggregated and sent through together, as we are unable to separate despatches due to a single delivery fee being charged.
You contacted our customer service on Monday (5th working day) and as a good will gesture our team has despatched the order on a premium AM delivery for Wednesday 17.12.2025, 7th working day and within SLAs.
Furthermore, as stated on the website, all delivery times given are estimates, subject to delays and rescheduling based on stock or courier issues.
