Bitterly Disappointed: 25 Years of Loyalty Broken in Less Than Two Months As fiercely loyal, long-term Stressless customers, we never expected to be writing a review like this. For over 25 years, our home featured a Stressless 3-seater, 2.5-seater, and recliner set. We loved them. They were flawless. When the cushions finally collapsed after more than two decades of heavy use, we looked into replacing the foam. Finding the refurbishment costs prohibitive, we confidently decided to invest heavily in brand-new Stressless furniture, choosing the Fiona Wood collection (3-seater, 2.5-seater, and chair).Our ordering process was a test of patience; we waited months for delivery, with the set finally arriving in May 2026. Shockingly, in less than two months of light use, a seat on our brand-new 3-seater has completely collapsed. The internal structural support—whether the springs or the frame itself—has totally failed. To go from a set that flawlessly lasted 25 years to a premium replacement that failed in weeks is incredibly disheartening. The drop in quality control is staggering for a luxury brand. We have officially initiated the repair and replacement process with our local retailer in the Southampton area. However, after reading numerous widespread complaints across multiple review platforms regarding modern Ekornes/Stressless after-sales service, we are incredibly anxious. We are currently awaiting their initial assessment, but given the online feedback, we aren't holding our breath. We will update this review as the vendor's process unfolds. For now, potential buyers should beware: the legendary durability we enjoyed for decades seems to be a thing of the past. Let's see if their customer service can salvage their reputation.

Extremely well made and exceptional comfort. Only down side was that I was offered 50% off leather conditioner but no way to purchase it on the stressless site.

We purchased the Buckingham range. The product itself looks lovely despite the wrinkled leather and insufficient padding but we are experiencing some initial problems with the Glide System tensioning for the recline function, in that the wheels are either ridiculously stiff or jammed. This is currently under investigation. However, we have since noticed on these chairs/sofas in furniture stores that even when working properly, it is very difficult for the average person to adjust the 'glide' wheels which are sited on both sides of the inside of the seat between the seat cushion and the armrest. They both need to be adjusted at the same time. It is extremely hard to even reach both wheels at the same time while seated, let alone actually manage to turn them in harmony (if at all). Don't be fooled by the lady with beautifully manicured nails in the Stressless 'how to' video! Glide lightly with the merest touch they don't. Judder and stick, squash and hurt your hands badly, and wrench your shoulders they do.

I'm also really disappointed with the Stressless after sales service. There is no ' Welcome to Stressless furniture, this is what you need to know' pack.
No instructions are given to the customer, for example, on adjusting the tension which is so fundamental to the whole system. Trying to get information from their consumer service team in the UK is extremely frustrating. You'd think they would be proud to pass on as much information as possible about their hallowed product to the customer but that has not been our experience. They give a strong impression of not being much interested in their customers' concerns. The company ethos appears to be all about sales and not customer satisfaction.

I love my stressless chair so comfy ive got the navy leather one

Requiring a chair in which I could rest as well as for sitting I opted for the Stressless Consul, small size. It's perfect and so good to have a seat where my feet touch the ground. Should I wish to 'put my feet up' the accompanying stool is ideal. Easy to recline. Quality is great and delivery was when promised and on time.
Early days yet but very happy with it.
