Responded very quickly to my request for support. Understood my technical issues and went out of their way to find answers.

Just replaced old copper hot water cylinder with hot water from wood burner and oil boiler inputted via a big heavy metal heat exchanger with a Telford with its internal heat transfer. The reduction in time for the boiler to heat up the water is huge, maybe 50%. Wonderful bit of kit. Plus hot water is now mains pressure not gravity fed.

Excellent customer service, let myself and my son try out some products.

Context: I missed the annual service by 18 months. The cylinder has been working just fine, then it packed in. I called as soon as Telford Group were open and spoke to customer services - and this is what i told them:
I just wanted to write and say that I think you went over and above to help me today. From no hot water at 08:00 to seeking the nearest engineer to me, and linking us up – and by 12:00 the matter was sorted - thermostat had cut out. Sure, it cost a bit more, but so worth it. Great engineer and your customer service is 5 star. Thank you so much, I am very grateful.

I moved into a flat with a Tempest boiler and had absolutely no idea how to use it and had no instructions either.
I emailed Telford group for some help on Sunday and had a reply from Sean at 08:30 Monday morning with instructions attached and a video about programming the timer.
Absolutely fantastic service and I'm really grateful to him for doing this for me.

In a panic when our water cylinder was leaking and our local engineer was struggling to fix it, I phoned Sean at Telford Group. He was super helpful with advice and even offered to speak with the engineer. We ended up with it fixed and I was hugely grateful to Sean for his prompt, considered support and advice for a resolution. Highly recommend them - especially if everyone is as helpful as Sean was!

While I haven't actually received and fitted my Telford tank yet I have been really impressed with the customer service so far. Any questions I have had have been answered quickly without making me feel like a pest for asking. Even to the extent that Sean Reynolds in technical support emailed me with extra information that he felt might be useful. I was very impressed

Well what a team ...I had a noisy expansion Vessel ..my plumber swore blind it was the valve ..but Sean said 200% it was the vessel after listening to the recording of the noise .. Telford sent new vessel ..my plumber fitted same day , and brilliant no noise ...all in all problem solved with perfect expertise .

Great customer service, needed some technical support & their team did their best on the phone to answer my questions very professionally.

I had a Tempest un-vented cylinder installed about 18 months ago and it started making noise like a kettle starting to boil (the water here is exceptionally hard).

I was able to reach someone at Telford's customer service who had the expertise and took the time to help me arrive at a solution to the problem.

I'll be happy to do business with this company in the future.

Firstly, I am and end user i.e a customer and Telford were more than happy to talk to me.

I had a specific requirement for 2 electric immersions heaters as I wantto use the tank as a 'thermal store' in the summer, utilising excess solar electricity to heat the water.

Again not a problem, we can add that - some manufactures only allow this on the larger cylinders. Post the install, very happy with the quality and performance of the cylinder, they are competitively prices and provided you service them, come with a lifetime warranty.

Under what country laws is this company able to claim they have lifetime guarantee? UK? I think somebody has to challenge that nonsense claim. The contractor who renovated my house used their Unvented 250litres Cylinder. They could find the serial number etc in their records. But was not 'registered'. Even if registered, the tank would require annual 'servicing' before it can even be considered for any guarantee.
My boiler is serviced annually understandably. A tank that requires annual servicing will need to be assessed differently from the sort of claim this company makes.
The aspect of my renovation requiring the tank was done in 2014 and the tank was bought in July 2014. So mine did a mere 9 years before 'pissing' water all over the place. Compared to the experience of others, I count myself lucky to have had 9 years good use. So much for life time warranty! Is it a good product, I would say, may be! .......that needs improvement. Lifetime Guarantee? Your chance of getting that is as good as catching smoke in the air and putting it in your pocket.

Before you buy, carefully read their terms and conditions specifically section 5:1 as added below. The stockists or direct sales department don't give you this clear information for you to make comparison. Even most installers I believe have never read it! You will understand it is not intended to actually provide any real support but to compile a database for future purchase when the existing one packs up! Which it will .....if you are line me, less than a decade (Lifetime indeed!).

(e)       Lifetime Guarantee: The stainless steel unvented cylinder carries a lifetime guarantee against faulty manufacture or materials, provided that: The product is used solely for the storage of water from a mains public supply. The product has not been modified or tampered with. The product has been installed and maintained in accordance with the installation instructions. The product has not been subjected to damage caused by frost, or other external influence. The product is registered on the Product Registration section of the TC&SC website within 28 days of installation. The immersion heater, water control valves, cylinder thermostat, expansion vessel and energy cut out valves are guaranteed for two years from the date of manufacture on a new build and once replaced for one year. This guarantee is only available in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Claims made against our Lifetime Guarantee must be supported with evidence of purchase and the product serial number, along with a copy of the completed Benchmark Checklist and service record. Your Statutory rights are not affected by this guarantee. All cylinders are WRAS Approved.

Exclusions to the guarantee:

* Any labour charges associated with replacement of the unit or any of its components.

* Any consequential losses caused by malfunction or failure of the unit.

* The effects of scale build up

I’m sorry for the delay in coming back to you. Thank you for the further images.

I’m sorry this is happening to you- please accept my sympathy on behalf of the company for your situation. We take immense pride in our product & with that in mind we offer a lifetime warranty on the cylinder body however the unit was never registered / activated for the lifetime warranty & from your email it is clear the unit has not been annually serviced / maintained as per our terms & conditions.

Servicing is essential to the lifespan of the product as parts should be reviewed & replaced every 2-4 years as needed. By not following this process the cylinder body is placed under extra stress when the expansion fails which can eventually cause the unit to fail (leak).

If there was a leak / failure down to manufacture defect we would expect it to be present within 6 months of initial installation, so after 9 years we can almost certainly say it won’t be a manufacturing issue affecting the cylinder, it will more than likely be extra stress placed on the unit from not servicing or even limescale / water corrosion.

In this situation we would strongly recommend you contact your local merchant / stockist to purchase a replacement unit & ensure it is registered as soon as it is installed.

Our Telford unvented cylinder split open at the seam and sprayed hot water everywhere after less than 12 months of use. Instead of reimbursing us Telford offered to replace the cylinder but the cost of reinstalling it was too high so we declined the offer. When we took the burst cylinder to the scrap merchant the inner cylinder was found to be made of mild steel not 'stainless steel' as advertised. The only stainless parts on this so called 'stainless steel cylinder' are the threaded inlets. Do not buy these cylinders. In my opinion they are dangerous and poorly manufactured. We lost a considerable amount of money having this installed and are very angry with the plumber for recommending them and with Telford for not reimbursing us for a faulty product that misleadingly claims to be made of stainless steel.
Responding to the comments by Telford below : I have sent numerous photos of the faulty unvented cylinder to your customer services team at Telford so don't suggest this is not a Telford cylinder ! The scrap merchant stripped off the outer shell casing and tested the inner cylinder with a magnet to show it was made of steel and not stainless steel.

At first I was a little nervous with the other reviews on here after our new unvented cylinder had a leak, but Telford have been absolutely fantastic to sort it out. No issues at all, very friendly and communication was spot on. The engineer did a great job and was very tidy, and all issues were resolved. Couldn't have asked for a better service. Would like to put in a special mention for Elaine B and Sean R for answering all our questions and keeping in touch.
