Beautiful Cabin, Thoughtful Touches & the Perfect Location
We had a wonderful stay celebrating our daughter’s birthday! The cabin was beautiful and so clean. We arrived late, and they had the whole cabin lit up for us—it felt so welcoming! We especially appreciated the firewood and refreshments waiting in the fridge. Those thoughtful touches made our arrival even better.
The location is clutch—you’re just 10–15 minutes from all the popular waterfalls and hikes, making it easy to get out and explore. Such a special place to make family memories. Highly recommend, and we would love to come back!

Awesome Experience
We have only had two stays with ThirdHome but both of them have been awesome! Homes were clean, in great locations and had everything we needed.
In addition, we have had several guests stay at our homes. Most everyone had been wonderful, communicative and respectful of our properties.

Excellent stay at Kona view house
We had an excellent stay at this very impressive and comfortable house. It is very well located on a mountainside above Kona, with a back terrace with a spectacular view of the ocean. Everything on the west side of the house is geared toward enjoying the view, including sunsets every evening. There is a nice infinity pool and adjoining hot tub, where our family members spent hours swimming and relaxing. The house is open and spacious. The main house does not have air conditioning, which we had some concerns about before arriving, but we learned that the weather does cool down enough in the evenings for sleeping to be comfortable. We even found ourselves pulling on blankets during the night. The separate bedrooms above the garage are also comfortable and functional, and do have air conditioning. The hosts are super friendly and communicative, and ensured that everything ran smoothly for us. They agreed to extend our stay to 12 days, which allowed us to include two different groups of kids and grandkids, all of whom thought the vacation was a 12 out of 10. The stay was a huge success all around.

Perfect
We had a wonderful week in Seoul South Korea at Seoul Forest Trail Retreat. The apartment was really nice, roomy, and in a nice building and location. The neighborhood is not at all touristy and we felt we got a feel for what it would be like to live in the city as a typical Korean. Getting around the city with K-ride, and using buses and metro was super easy from the apartment. Our host really stood out. She met us upon arrival and oriented us to the apartment then took us on a stroll to show us the neighborhood - including the grocery store, coffee shops etc. During our walk, we stopped at a coffee shop and bought some excellent beans that we enjoyed through the week using an excellent expresso machine in the apartment. She was always available and helpful. I was looking for a specific gift and she sent me places to check out and also offered suggestions (hotels) of where to stay when we took an excursion to Busan. This was so helpful to us as my husband and I were winging it! She was also super responsive. One night there was a false alarm in the building and we were able to get a hold her immediately and she assured us. Lastly, my husband and I joked about stealing the bed it was so comfortable. Just an outstanding place and experience.

What Happens When An Owner Quits Third Home
We booked a home in July for a Christmas gathering in Utah. We were confirmed by the Third Home owner of our booking the next day. We called our kids and they booked their airfares for their families.
In early October, we were notified by Third Home that, despite all of their efforts, the owner severed their relationship with Third Home. We believe Third Home did all they could to encourage the owner to abide by the contract.
We fortunately received 100% of our rental fee back and Third Home reissued the "keys" we used to rent the Utah home. They also were very kind to give us two extra keys.
However, we now have $4500 in air tickets that will not be refunded, only available for future use.
We are also now leery of booking any home outside the US if Third Home's policies do not hold the owner accountable and impose a more significant penalty (other than a loss of keys and return the payment fees) based upon the contractual rental agreement. We think this might cause the owner to really reconsider their action.
We imagined booking a home in Europe or Asia, purchasing air and possible tour tickets and then finding out the host owner bowed out of the home rental contract at the last minute
We think Third Home needs to really re-think their penalty process when an owner fails to hold their end of the rental transaction.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to lose the planned stay and still be left with $4,500 in airfare that could not be refunded.
We're glad our team was able to return your exchange fees, reinstate the Keys used for the booking, and provide additional Keys, but we understand that those steps don't fully make up for the inconvenience and expense you experienced. We also appreciate your recognition of the efforts our team made to work with the homeowner.
Your feedback about homeowner accountability and the protections members have when a confirmed stay is cancelled is important, particularly when members are making significant travel arrangements around a booking. We'll be sure to share your concerns with our team as we continue reviewing how we can best protect our members and provide confidence when planning future trips.

Great location and stunning home
Great location and stunning home! The host is incredibly communicative and made us feel right at home. The house has a great kitchen and stunning backyard. The hot tub was hot and ready to go when we got there! We can’t recommend this stay enough and will be booking again!

Great Ocean Views
We had a great time and beautiful place with incredible ocean views. Only reason not a 5 star review is there is no AC and it didn’t make it difficult to sleep some nights despite having lots of fans running.
