Great product
Great product. Easy to order. This is my second bag...and for my daughter who is just getting into biking. My original is still tried and true...holding up to 3x per week commute ride. Timbuk2 is a great product...worth the price.

I tried
This is the second back pack, bought it to replace a waterproof expandable version that I loved. This backpack however is made of material that attracts dirt, it has a lot of straps that fall off easily, the pull straps to adjust the shoulders are so slim and are indistinguishable from other lose straps and nothing fits in the water bottle holder. The design is frustrating, which defeats the purpose of the purchase.

I ordered a custom bag
I ordered a custom bag. The creation process was easy and fun. Shipping was on time. The materials and construction are sturdy and well crafted. The bag was slightly larger than I had anticipated so I recommend double checking the measurements. otherwise everything was fantastic!

One of the plastic buckles broke within…
One of the plastic buckles broke within less than a month. And the padded shoulder add-on was way too bulky and stiff to be usable so I just decided not to use it at all. I also miss the colored contrast stitching from the previous versions of this bag I’ve happily owned (was such a fun detail). This is maybe my fourth (third in this size). All in all getting this newest bag felt like a downgrade. I wish it were otherwise, because I have historically been happy with these bags. But it’s the general trajectory of things, so…

I'm keeping both.
I ordered 2 different bag designs thinking I would choose the one that fit my needs best. Instead I kept them both as they are so well make and designed that I had uses for both. What a great company and commitment to quality!

The new shoulder strap is heavy
The new shoulder strap is heavy, cumbersome and does not cinch tightly. It makes my go-to travel bag much less convenient to use. Please return to the previous strap!

Repair
I inquired about a repair for my backpack and while I couldn’t get a definitive answer about whether the repair would be fixable or covered under the lifetime warranty, I received a prompt response from customer service under 24hrs with details about how to ship my backpack to the repair center to check. I live in the San Jose area and saw that I could actually drop off to the Timbuk2 store at SF Premium Outlets in Livermore, so I did that instead of packaging it up and mailing it. Within a few days, I received an email notifying me that my backpack was accepted for repair and that it would be covered under the lifetime warranty. Several days later, I got an email notification that it was shipped to my house with an estimated date of arrival. I received my backpack all fixed up, about 8 days after I dropped it off. It was a fantastic experience, especially considering that I was notified that the process might take 6-10 weeks. Hopefully I won’t need another repair for a while but I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to their customer service again, Timbuk2 made the process so easy and I know so many other brands make the process more challenging so that they don’t have to fulfill their warranty. This backpack was a gift back in 2018 and the only item I have from Timbuk2 but I might have to change that after this experience!
