We were in a difficult position being tied into a legally binding contract with a company whose services we no longer wanted and yet whose charges were increasing year-on-year.
Stephen Boyd at Athena Law successfully negotiated for us an exit from the contract at a relatively low cost, meaning we are now no longer liable for any further charges from the company in question.

I received a response from Stephen Boyd, since leaving the above review, excuses were given as to the reasons for not responding to my emails. I was then informed and I quote "Given your rather unfair comment on Trustpilot (which I will now have to remove) I am unable to act for you in any event."
Since leaving the review, I have been contacted by Trustpilot to provide evidence to show that Athena law and I have had correspondence and that the review is a true representation of events (Athena Law wanted the review removed). After much consideration to review's online re:- timeshare problems we engaged Stephen Boyd "The Timeshare Solicitor" to deal with our case.
What a first class service we got from Stephen gave him all our information,once he'd reviewed it all email me our options.
Once this was agreed he was able to free us from our Club Paradiso membership within 3 weeks.

I wish to commend Mr. Boyd for the way the problem with my timeshare of many years has been dealt with. With my income on pause due to lockdown I finally acted to try and terminate my holiday ownership. I hadn't acted and had been putting it off because of being ripped off in the past by a charlatan of a company. Mr. Boyd listened to my several issues and made clear he was a solicitor and couldn't just take my money and disappear, which eased my worry. Within a month I was out - years of stress gone. Now he is trying to get me a huge rebate as he states my contract was never legal! Thank God I found you. That rebate could save my troubled guaranteed company.

Stephen Boyd carefully examined all of the papers relating to my case and provided sound advice. He explained the options open to me and suggested the best method to satisfy my requirements without making any false promises. Once we had agreed a plan Stephen then negotiated a satisfactory outcome on my behalf.

I foolishly entered a contract with what I now understand to be a dubious operator, this was on last Friday afternoon. This was to claim money back which was wasted on recouping cash spent on a Timeshare related product. The contract was for several thousand pounds and one I certainly wouldn't have been able to escape from. As soon as I'd paid the deposit, I knew I'd done wrong and felt sick.

After researching for help online, I came across 'Athena Solicitors' who came out as being all above board. So I left a message on their website. This was the wisest move I've ever made.

I received a phone call from one of the associates the following morning 'Martin', He put Me at ease straight away. He knew of the company I dealt with and their operating method. He was genuinely annoyed that this had happened to Me, and I wasn't the first this week either. He assured Me it would be fine once The Companies Solicitor 'Stephen Boyd' got involved, and He would call Me shortly. Stephen called and explained what He'd do. Stephen pointed out their wrong/illegal actions and pretty much assured Me that once this company were aware that I was aware, and had consulted with a legal expert, they'd return the deposit and cancel the contract. Stephen wasn't lying. The company emailed Stephen within two days, cancelled the contract and the full deposit to be refunded. I was so happy. The deposit was back on the Credit Card last night, so all sorted in 7 days. Stephen was quick to reply on any communications We had and great to work with. I have even got Stephen working on something else too now, as I've so much faith in Him and Athena. I can't recommend them enough.

Sixteen year ago we were enticed into Timeshare and enjoyed a few years of pleasant holidays, until the novelty wore off. We abandoned it because we were pestered by salesmen trying to upgrade us, along with escalating maintenance fees, with nothing to show for them as the accommodation was looking very tired.
Recently we have been plagued by unwanted cold calls offering to release us from our Timeshare contract and win our money back, all for an upfront fee!! We had no intention of following this path but it did cause us great concern and stress, they told us we were about to be chased by Apollo for unpaid maintenance and that the debt would fall to our children, as there was no way out of the commitment. It made us very fearful in case there was some truth in it.

They assured us that these people are scammers with no regard for their fellow man, they simply want to make money from other people's misery.

We had researched our options for terminating our membership, and contacted various companies to find out how each could help us.
We contacted Athena Law, and initially, and spoke to Martin. He was very knowledgeable about our membership. He gave us a realistic assessment of our options, and explained the costs involved for Athena Law, (and Stephen Boyd) to act for us.
We decided to ask Stephen to act for us because, a) they fully understood and were familiar with our particular membership, b) their fees were clear and fair, and c) they are a UK based company and fully regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
We instructed Stephen to represent us and we are delighted to say that within two weeks, he had negotiated our exit from the timeshare. We have received a letter from the Timeshare company, confirming our termination. Also, we have since tried to access the timeshare website but our membership login details were not recognised, giving further proof that we are OUT.
So our repeated thanks to Stephen Boyd for helping us to extricate us from the Timeshare and the burden of the ever-increasing annual maintenance fees.
