I approached Tonic about in regard to surgery, questioning what would be the best decision for me. They were extremely friendly, welcoming and supportive during the decision process and didn't put any pressure on me at all.

I decided to book in and pay my deposit. I then had multiple phone calls discussing my relationship with food and how I was feeling with a very friendly, calmly spoken lady who helped me understand the reasons as to why I was struggling so much.

I also had a dietician on hand explaining to me how my life would be impacted long-term with lots of information, advice and guidance for post-op.

My operation went very smoothly (at Derby Royal), recovery was swift and with minimal pain and discomfort. I had multiple emails during my first week of recovery and also a phone call everyday which was fantastic. Anytime I was anxious about something during my recovery the team at Tonic were there for me to answer my questions and put me at ease.

I am now 4 weeks post-op and already feeling a drastic change to my health, weight and mindset.

Its a scary decision to make but one that will change your life for the better in the long-term. Trust the process, listen to the team and their advice and follow the program properly and you will see the benefits very quickly.

I had my Surgery in July 2025 . Best decision I made after lots of yo yo dieting in the past . I was developing health issues which was having an effect on our life and what I wanted to do with it . It is not an easy option and you still have to work hard but within six months my health issues disappeared and I haven’t looked back. The surgeon I had Mr Awad was thorough and put me at ease. The care from start to finish for me personally was fantastic. This is a tool to help regulate your weight and get it to where you need to be. Use to support that is available to you. Life has definitely improved for me

I first contacted Tonic in August 2025 after a conversation with my GP about a Gastric sleeve. I spoke to the wonderful Lydia and she helped me through the whole process, I've a few medical conditions and didn't want to travel outside of the UK for the surgery. Lydia helped me with all the paperwork and no question was a bother for her. The whole team has been amazing from first contact to even now 4 weeks after surgery. I had my surgery on the 23/03/26 in Salford at the Oakland's hospital, My surgeon Mr Bilal Alkhaffaf was brilliant. I spoke to him twice on the phone and then the day of the operation. He reassured me and spoke through all my concerns, I felt really safe with tonic and the surgery went well with no complications. The after care team Rebecca, Lisa, Paula and Louise have been magical. They've been checking in on the phone and emails with me. Helping me throughout this whole process and any worry or concerns they've been on the other side of the phone straight away! This wouldn't have been possible with out you all! I'm four stone down since the operation and life has a completely different outlook now! Thank you all everyone at Tonic weight loss and especially Mr Alkhaffaf.

If you’re thinking of going for weight loss surgery, I would recommend Tonic . I have recently undergone weight loss surgery with this company. The Service I have received has been absolutely fantastic.The aftercare is amazing every single member of staff I’ve spoken to have been really helpful. And very kind.

I cannot fault Tonic at any point, the whole experience has been amazing, from the day of booking until after surgery they have kept me informed on every step of my journey, the surgeon Dr Adamo in London was so great and put me at ease. The after care was brilliant and you couldn’t ask for better. If you ever think about using Tonic for your surgery then you will be in safe hands.. the after care is amazing

I did a lot of research before I decided on Tonic. What did it for me was the aftercare package and follow up. I had my operation on March 20th and the "journey" so far has been faultless.
From my first consultation with Mr Maddock and the pre op, I have found ALL members of the team so helpful, informative and polite, willing to help always.
On operation day I had a fabulous room and clinical staff were amazing, honestly I cannot say one thing negative. I was discharged making sure I had meds(all explained to me) and discharge papers.
After day 3 I had no pain and pain meds were a thing of the past, I was up and downstairs every day. I received a daily telephone call with the nurse which was great for any niggles. by the end of week 2 the dietician was calling, and still is now (week 6).
The one greatest benefit is to my health, the knee pain I had been in for 2 years and on pain meds every day just went! That in itself was amazing. My asthma wheeze has now gone and I am sleeping better than I have in years.
You have to be in the right frame of mind to have surgery and I thought long and hard (for 2 years) but when you are sure then definitely go for it.
I was expecting my cravings to be there still but in all honesty they have gone. At work I am surrounded by cakes,chocs and biccies all day and it honestly doesn't bother me.
Advice, well everyone had a different journey and I can only comment on my experience but one thing I would say is do the liver shrinking to the letter! its very important.
I am sure I may have blips and questions but I know I can pick up the telephone and speak to the Tonic Team.

The tonic team were fantastic. I had my surgery August 2024 at Nuffield in Leeds and haven't looked back since. I'm 8 stone 4 pounds down and I have been weight lifting. I feel stronger and more confident. I'm even the first up dancing at any event, something I would have never have done. I totally recommend.

When first phoning Tonic a lady called Lydia spoke to me explaining how Tonic could help me and she was so understanding never pushy. She then asked if i would like to speak to a surgeo n. Wow. Told i had an illness not my fault. When i decided my choice there was a cancellation and i went to London and had amazing treatment. I have no family and made the change all on my own. Always someone on the end of tge phone. Support was second to none. Never felt i was on my own. I was over 17 stone. Now 9 stone 8lbs after 3 years in September. My life is amazing now. Size 8 to 10 never alter and go on holiday and my time isnt thinking about food. Swimming walking enjoying my life. My life is great now at 67 years. Should have done it earlier. Dping the Brighton Marathon next week and did last year. I have worked with it as it is a tool and i go to the gym regular. And always listenered to all the Tonic Team for advice. Thank you Tonic. I got weight loss surgery from Tonic nearly 4 years ago. From start to finish the service was superb. Dr Awad was amazing. I haven't had any issues or concerns at all. The Tonic team were and are incredible. The private hospital in Birmingham was fantastic. I've lost 6 1/5 stones so far and feel great. No more jount pains. No more diabetes and a lot more confidence. In fact, I recommend Tonic to my brother and sister in law and they had the surgery too and are very happy. All in all, I'm really happy and glad I went with Tonic weight loss.

Had my surgery here in February 2026 and could not be happier. Great care and aftercare is fantastic. I was always made aware of everything about my surgery going forward and after.

This company is clearly a quality business. Even though they have a large Client base, I was made to feel as though they were with me every step of the way. From the beginning of the LRD, through the surgery (29/1/26) and afterwards, I have been looked after. The Tonic team, the surgeon and recently Harry on the physio side have been there and kept in regular contact. I can't recommend them enough and I would give them 6 stars.

Would 100% recommend tonic! I had a gastric bypass back in January 2026 and I have no regrets. When I first phoned the adviser was helpful and not pushy. Mr Dexter phoned me the next day and did a consultation and was very informative and helped me make a decision. The op went great I was well looked after at Leeds Nuffield and then you can not

6 weeks post op and the whole experience from the start has been amazing.
My surgery got delayed 12 months due to health issues but Tonic supported me throughout that time.

I’ve had such a fantastic experience with Tonic Surgery that I wanted to share a review for anyone considering them.

From the very first phone call through to my operation and the months of support afterwards, the entire journey has been phenomenal. The hospital staff, surgeon, dietitian, PT, and nurses have all been incredibly supportive and genuinely caring.

In the first few weeks after surgery they contacted me daily to check in, which made such a difference during recovery. Even now, five months post-op, I still receive regular calls to see how I’m doing and to make sure everything is on track.

The app is also brilliant for tracking progress and staying accountable. Harry, the PT, is especially amazing — he’s very active on social media and runs weekly live chats on Facebook, sends helpful emails, and is always available through WhatsApp. You can tell he truly cares and is there to support you 100%.

I honestly can’t rave enough about Tonic Surgery. The level of care and ongoing support has exceeded all my expectations, and I’m so grateful for the whole team.
