Order Canceled Without Communication
I've been a Torrid customer for nearly a decade. Last weekend, I placed an order and received confirmation that my order would be delivered on 6/19. On 6/16, I logged in to track the status of my delivery. To my surprise, my order status was 'canceled'. I did not receive an email or text message from Torrid notifying me that my order was canceled, and I have been expecting my package to be delivered this Friday for an upcoming event. Torrid's behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. I was essentially ghosted by Torrid after placing my order, and they thought so little of me that they didn't feel the need to let me know they'd canceled it. Customers spend their precious time shopping on a website and committing to spend their money with a business. The business should appreciate that the customer chose to spend their time and money with them, but my experience shows that Torrid is arrogant and jaded; those aren't the descriptors of an organization that wants to remain a player in the fashion industry. I will not beg a company to take my money, and I will not pay a business to disrespect me. As the saying goes, 'there's more fish in the sea'
Returns a Rip Off
Order came to £47 had to return it and they charged £30 postage. Absolute rip off. Would never buy from them again!
Doesn’t refund canceled items
Ordered numerous items and one was canceled as it was no longer available but they never refunded me. Back and forth with customer service 5x’s over the past 6 weeks and still haven’t received the promised refund. I will not shop online with them again.

I think they sell quality clothing for women!
Poor quality products, misleading sales promotions and poor return experiences
I can remember when store #6 opened in Annapolis MD back in 2003 and I can tell you the store and web experience has nosedived since then. What went from progressive fashion in inclusive sizing and a positive customer driven experience has fallen off into poor quality uninspired fast fashion with poor service.
The stores are generic looking, understaffed, and prices are artificially inflated so daily discounts and coupons can be added to create a “deal”.
The quality of garments is now on par with Forever 21 and other fast fashion. Their boutique sizing is inconsistent as well. 80% of what I have bought here in the last 4 years has been unusable due to sizing and/or quality issues. Checking out item reviews on their site sorted by date is an eyeopening experience as it seems to reflect a manufacturing shift for the worse. (Poor quality in house labels only. They have stepped away from carrying external brands.)
I have been returning to this retailer mostly for work clothes as I don’t know where else to shop in the US for contemporary plus sized clothing.
Lately the return process has been misleading and costly. As their brick and mortar locations have been closing, in person returns are no longer feasible for me. Returning through the website is archaic. They don’t use QR codes to generate your shipping label and packing slip like other major retailers who utilize UPS. Instead, you are charged $6 from your return value for a UPS label and packing slip that still have to be printed out. Torrid also no longer uses boxes for their shipping, just cheap, low quality plastic mailer bags that are impossible to reuse for return shipping. So printing fees, packaging and the return fee really comes out to $9-$12.
The message you get when initiating your return is to expect your refund in 1-2 weeks after receipt. According to their customer service rep Peter J who I spoke with today via chat, that is either misleading or outright false. He stated it takes the return processing team 1-2 weeks to inspect returned items, then another week to process accepted returns, then up to 5-7 business days for the refund to be processed by whatever payment service was used in the original transaction. This is 2026 and that is the longest returns processing timeline I’ve heard of in years for a stateside retailer other than their sister company, Hot Topic.
For example, GAP uses a returns process that just involves a QR code and requires that the tags are on the item. Their returns are FREE and UPS handles all of the packaging on GAP’s behalf. They acknowledge the return electronically as soon as UPS has accepted it, and I’ve never had to wait for more than 5 days for my refund.
In a nutshell, these experiences are probably why the company has been shuttering stores instead of using their unique position in the retail market to stand out like they used to. It is noteworthy that their corporate office currently has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website.

I recently shopped at Torrid in Clark NJ and Edison NJ, both stores customer service was EXCELLENT! I was greated but not bombarded when walking in the door, I browsed the store quickly not seeing what I came for but I did notice a lot of really nice new styles not typical of Torrid, softer styles, colors, really nice. I quickly found an available employee who cheerfully helped me. She called the Clark store finding a clearance item I showed her online. The other store had it and off I went although I really was hesitant since this young woman was so helpful! I arrived at the Clark store to the same helpful attitudes! How refreshing since shopping can be stressful. They had what I was looking for and the young women helped me brainstorm some accessories. I left a very happy customer. Thanks Edison and Clark I’ll be back!
Canadian buyers beware
I was very disappointed with Torrid’s return process for Canadian customers.
Their website states that a $6 return shipping fee will be deducted from refunds, which strongly suggests that a prepaid return label is provided. However, after initiating my return, I discovered that Canadian customers are actually expected to arrange and fully pay for return shipping themselves (including expensive international shipping and customs costs).
In my case, returning the package would cost approximately $50 CAD.
Customer service later confirmed that the $6 fee only applies to U.S. orders and that prepaid labels are not available for Canadian returns. While the representative was polite, this information is not clearly disclosed on the website or during the return process.
I’m leaving this review because Canadian shoppers deserve transparent information upfront before purchasing, if they don't live near a storefront. Hidden return costs on international orders are a major issue, and Torrid should clearly separate U.S. and international return policies instead of presenting them as if they apply universally.
INCOMPETENCE AND ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
found a blouse in one of their mall stores that worked well for me until i washed it and line dried it. it shrunk anyway. i liked the way the blouse was cut and thought i'd order it in a larger size to accommodate the cheap material. on line, this shirt came in multiple colors and patterns and i had been looking for something with specific colors and found it with this blouse. ordered it along with another item on a TUESDAY morning. the following SUNDAY MORNING - SIX DAYS LATER i get this notice "One or more items was removed from your order."
it happened to be this blouse that i needed for something specific. 30 minutes on hold before anyone answered from an outsourced location and heavy accents. back and forth with scripted apologies, supervisor too busy to talk to me, supervisor gets on after several attempts by agent, zero resolution of any kind, wasted over an hour listening to these scripted apologies.
this was completely unacceptable. it didn't take them six days to take my order or charge my credit card and they wouldn't or couldn't explain why it took so long to notify me that there was an issue. now i'm pressed for time trying to find a blouse with specific colors / pattern that i need. thanks, torrid. too many other places to shop with quality merchandise that actually care about their customers.
From my review on April 7
From my review on April 7, 2026, still waiting for my refund. My thoughts are, I will never see that money😡
The quality of product has gone into…
The quality of product has gone into complete free fall. A shame when they are one of the few plus sized options
Where's my refund?
Placed my first order April 13. One item was cancelled, saying it was no longer available. Never received a refund for it.However,it is still on the website at full price! I have emailed numerous times and finally put in a complaint on PayPal,still no response. My second order was fine but my third order was cancelled almost as soon as I paid for it without reason (I was refunded for that one). Will not be ordering again. I gave 2 stars because the clothes I did receive are lovely.
Frustrating!!
Frustrated!! The online shopping is terrible. I would like to place an order without rushing in hopes that the items in my shopping cart do not get removed before I can finish placing my order. You should at least hold the shopping cart for 24 hours before discarding items. I lost two item today from my cart while trying to place my order. Also if you have over 100 plus items listed in the clearance section, how can I look through the items of my choice if you’re removing my items for another customer before I can finish and place my order. Please do better with your online shopping. It’s just frustrating and disappointing.

I really love the clothes and would order again except your return sucks. I live in Canada British Columbia and ordered on line as I do not live any where near a torrid store and to return something that I don’t like I have to send it back to the states which will cost me at least 40.00 to 50.00. But if I lived near a store I could just go to one and return mu stuff. Why can I not just be able to mail my stuff back to a store in Canada
This been said because of this return policy I will no longer be ordering from this company and I have informed all my friends of this as well

Torrid EX shopper!
I have shopped with torrid for 15 years. I shop online. I am a credit card holder. I ordered 5 different orders, they canceled the last 2 when I used my $20 rewards on each order I had $40.00I had acquired .They said it's because I had too many orders and I had to pick it up at the mall okay so I walk with a cane or a Walker. It is very hard for me to get to the mall and I don't care for that store at all. There's stuff that looks like it's been thrown all over the floor torn up nasty returns and they never have my size or what I need when I go in there so why would I go to the store?? I like the convenience of ordering online and receiving it at my front door. Torrid has done this to me before, but since it was my birthday and I had $40 in Torrif rewards I thought why not give it a try again. Im happy with my previous orders that I received in the last couple of days.... So I talked to the representative in CS and she said that I have to pick everything up in the store, but they just cancel my orders they don't give me that option they just cancel it !!!! THEN they Want me to pick it up in the store... So I said give me back my reward money and they've only given me $20 back so far...PLEASE stay away from Torrid their items are miss sized, poorly sewn, pockets have holes or are half sewn closed, the quality has gone down to less than Walmart quality and I'll tell you what Amazon has some amazing unique items that fit well and are made well!! I highly recommend that people just go to Amazon or anywhere else but Torrid!! They are a scam of a store and the way they treat their customers is beyond horrific!! So stay away from Torrid They just sell very poorly made clothes now it's just junk sheen is better than Torrid lately!
Great Experience
I have never had any problems with my online orders. The clothes fit great. They are on the expensive side, but they last years. Very happy customer
Order your items with caution on rhe…
Order your items with caution on rhe Torrid site like many of the others here, ordering online feels more like a scam than anything, but i dont know what other site to go to since Addition Elle was shut down. I've had three purchases cancelled on me randomly in 2025. I was tenacious enough to keep on top of the orders and refunds. Was offered 20% off coupon for next perchase and was never given it by email or attached to my torrid account. I don't have much hope for 2026. Best to go in store OR we all start a big woman/persons shop together in Canada. Clearly they don't want our buisness.
Return/Refund Nightmare
I have ordered from Torrid for years and haven't had issues, until this last year. They changed their return policy almost everything ordered online is marked "return by mail only" or "final sale, no refunds, no returns". I unfortunately had to return a pair of shoes and they were marked "return by mail only". I followed the instructions, I provided my own box, printed out the return packing slip and return label (they do not provide these things for you, unfortunate). I returned the item with zero issues, tried the shoes on and they were too big, never even wore them outside, didn't keep them on my feet for more than a minute, they were returned in "brand new" conditions. This was 3 weeks ago and I have yet to receive my refund. Called customer service and got the run around. Then saw the refund in my account yesterday. I was happy to get my refund, finally, until I was looking at my statement today and noticed the refund was gone. They took my refund back and I am very upset. I now and on the phone with customer service again trying to find out what happened and why they were able to take my refund back. I have been very disappointed with their new return policy. It's very difficult to deal with customer service. So not only did they take away the convenience of returning items in store, they also make you provide your own return box, label and packing slip, and to top it off they take $6 off of every return. Disappointed. They lost a "VIP" customer.
Loyal customer. Simple request. Eight days of runaround.
I purchased four items in store at Torrid on 2/28/2026. That same evening I went to Torrid.com to place an order for additional items, and discovered that all four items I had just bought in store were listed online for $55.78 less than I paid, even after my in-store BOGO 50% discount. I was not looking for a problem. I was about to give them more business.
I requested a price adjustment. Customer care denied it twice, offering only two options: return to the store in person, which I am not able to do, or mail everything back and repurchase online, a process that would cost Torrid more in fees and shipping than the adjustment itself. I escalated to executive leadership. No response after 8 days.
I filed a BBB complaint (ID: 24601063). Torrid's response cited an online order policy that does not govern in-store transactions. I reviewed every policy document Torrid publishes. None of them prohibit what I asked for.
I have been patient and professional throughout. The facts speak for themselves.
