I bought the insured measurement and it’s was definitely worth every dollar, came out perfect!

I had a gazillion questions, which their support site (Joshua Hartnett) answered .. EVERY question, and they even sent me a sample packet of their products so I could see the choices and know exactly what we were purchasing.

As senior citizens we don't do "DIY" projects any more, and they referred me to a local handyman (who incidentally was terrific and very knowledgeable about the shades - and complimentary about company and product) to measure and install the shades.

These shades are just fantastic -- we had that real "WOW" moment when they were installed and the shades were lowered the first time... no light coming in the window at all-- zero! They ARE what they advertise. We opted for motorization and it's very easy to get the charging cord onto the shade. The shades and frames themselves are very well made and do not detract from the room style at all.

If you are thinking about purchasing them and wonder if they are worth the money ... the answer is yes. YES. They will block out all light and make you wonder why you waited so long!

Best blackout shade I’ve ever had! I’ve tried plenty of blackout blinds and shades over the years and they always leaked light a little bit of light, usually on the sides. Not this one, it’s like sleeping in a cave. Plus, having a motorized version that is controlled by Alexa is completely awesome!

These come packaged very well with super easy instructions. I couldn’t be happier.

The shade not only keeps all the light out, it keeps the heat of the day outside where it belongs. My son installs them for me and he has said several times how impressed he is with the amount of thought that has gone into this product.

We had to contact support once we received our shade to assist with a fit up issue. We were given step by step instructions and the issue was resolved while we were on phone.

As a third shifter, I've had a lot of trial and error with blackout shades, curtains, blinds, and the like. But I've never gotten a completely black room. That was until today! TOTAL BLACK! The installation, TOO EASY! Took less than 20 minutes. The price? Expensive, but WORTH every penny for a daytime sleeper! Also, the fact that this shade has no exposed cords is a huge plus for our family of four cats. My only word of caution is to measure twice before ordering. I personally did not have an issue with fit; mine fits like a glove, but it would be easy to get it wrong if you don't double check. I cannot express how excited and thankful I am for UBLOCKOUT! The owner even reached out personally to follow up on my purchase. When was the last time you got contacted by a business owner to make sure you're happy with their product? Best blackout blinds in the market. The install takes about 20 minutes. Be sure to watch installation video for measurements and how to install the side rails. The blinds absolutely will black out a room at high noon. I have blinds installed on doors and windows. Worth every penny if you're a shift worker who sleeps during daylight hours.

What a great product. Only bought one unit because I was a bit skeptical if this product would achieve “total blackout” or not.
After a super easy installation, it was exactly what is advertised. This is the perfect solution for total blackout in any room.

Wow, what a product and what award-worthy customer service! If I would start a company, this would be what I would model it on: killer engineering, excellent website, A+ customer service, super flexible payment options, unprecedented helpfulness in their interactive installation videos, and top-notch packaging and delivery. These blinds aren't cheap, but the blackout effect still melts my brain after decades with Venetian blinds and then Wirecutter-recommended disappointments. These blackout shades from Ublockout were a fantastic purchase! Installation was a breeze and they look incredibly stylish, seamlessly blending with our room's decor. Their ease of function is a huge plus and I can confirm they provide 100% blackout which has been a game-changer for our west-facing room. Not only do they effectively block out all the late-day sun, but they've also noticeably helped keep our room cooler, leading to less reliance on the air conditioning. We have purchased from they twice now and both experiences, including interactions with their amazing customer service, have been excellent!

I replaced my window and had some issues reinstalling my ublockout shades. Within minutes of submitting my issues to the portal, I was on a zoom call with ublockout. He was able to walk me through the steps very easily to resolve the matter.

From the first time we looked at the website we have been excited to use these shades. Our first order in October 2024 was such a success we decided to update the entire house slowly. I remember the first time I closed the shade and just how 100% blockout looked. We have ordered, received and installed 3 more times for a total of 6 out of eight windows. All 4 experiences have been awesome. As we learned how to measure better each time (3 or 4 times before ordering) this process works. We have not had to contact Customer Service for any of our shades but we have been contacted by your company to make sure we are happy with our choices. We are excited to order our last two shades in the next few months and fully expect to have the same experience. Thank you for this product.

Wonderful product if you want TRUE blackout! Easy to assemble, but I didn’t read the instructions well and messed up the string, but chat support was immediate and very helpful … got it resolved quickly and works like a charm!! Awesome company. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I are now retired and enjoy a bit of sleep-in time in the morning. My former job required a 4 AM wakeup 5 days a week. We adjusted our sleep pattern ever so slightly on the weekends.

Our bedroom faces east so trying to get a new pattern of waking up just a little later was problematic.

Our new Ublockout shade is the perfect solution to prevent ole Mr. Sun from disturbing the new routine! The installation was a snap.

I had a small issue with setting up the SmartHub pairing with our smart speakers and tech guy Cristian was ready to remedy with telephone assistance.

Best. Product. Ever. I've tried so many so-called "blackout" curtains, shades, and whatnot. Saying that sellers exaggerate when they promise a "blackout" experience is an understatement. Their material might be blocking out all light, but their product never does. They ALWAYS fail to block the light coming from all four sides of their average product. All sellers except one: Josh Boorman from UBlockout. His product is legit and it actually works EXACTLY as advertised. Easy to install (great, short videos and super clear instructions), great material, minimalistic design and most importantly, it blocks all light from the entire window! After buying the first one, I bought two more for my kids bedrooms. My toddler stopped waking up at 5 am, finally. My newborn is SO EASY to put to bed once I lower the shade. I can create night on command. I've never recommended a product this much. Really a unicorn product. I would give 10 stars if I could. THANK YOU!

We started with two uBlockout shades for our master bedroom in a new house. My wife is really light sensitive, and I need to sleep during the day for work sometimes. I saw an ad and was a little skeptical at first. But we gave it a shot. I’m so glad we did. Total blackout from the windows. We had tried blackout curtains, other “blackout” shades before. But these ones are custom built to fit perfectly in each individual window. Total blackout. We liked them so much, we made the investment to buy them for our kid’s bedrooms and the guest bedroom. Totally worth the expense. And they make it super easy to install with easy videos and written instructions. I’ll continue to tell friends and family about uBlockout!
