Due to these ratings, I was afraid to order, plus I was also concerned about customs charges. I took a chance and emailed customer services with my concerns and was given a prompt and friendly response. I am glad I ignored the Trust Pilot ratings, my package was sent from America in less than 2 weeks (they're AMERICAN BASED) and arrived to me safely with everything, no customs charges (they actually offered to pay if I was charged!) , all my products were good quality. I am beyond happy with my purchase and the customer service is really polite and helpful. If you're hesitant I'd say take the chance, they've got a fantastic range of cosmetic products for dark skinned women than what is sold here in the UK and want to make a second order already!

I've been waiting a month for my package! The tracking information dropped off about 20 days ago and when I enquired I was fobbed off. I've been chasing for over 2 weeks and they still won't do anything! When it shipped a month ago it said 8-12 days and any normal company would have taken this up with the courier by now or sent a replacement. I will never use this website again. Consider yourself warned!

To the people moaning that they were deceived by the company being based in the US, how do you not see that? The information is right there on the shipping information page. How did you place an order without looking at the shipping information?!

Anyhoooo....this shop is great! It sells many of the US drugstore brands that I love and miss here in the UK, and now I can order them cheaply, without paying crazy shipping costs thru a third party shipper, or hassling US based friends to ship stuff to me. Pretty speedy delivery, and all arrived in perfect condition.

I was nearly put off purchasing from this supplier by some of the negative reviews but I took a chance and placed a small order. I was very happy with the transaction. I bought a Kong Leo toy for my dog which was less than half the price I could buy it on Amazon and was delivered within 7 days.

True the shop is in the USA but I found this information was not hidden and I was able to take this information into consideration when placing my order.

After reading reviews about customs charges, I did some research and discovered that items over a value of £15 are liable to VAT/Customs charges and that if customs decide to levy a charge, Royal Mail will charge a whopping £8 handling fee to collect the money for Customs & Excise. This however is not the sellers fault and should be taken into consideration by the buyer when placing order as should delivery times from the US.

On this occasion, I kept my order below the £15 threshold and had no problems with Customs or Royal Mail. Though I would be happy to spend more if the sums add up and I can still save money by using this shop.

Based on my experience I can recommend this supplier.

After reading some of the reviews on here, I was a bit worried ordering from Vitamin Grocer but went ahead anyway and I am sooooo glad I did! I didn't have any issues at all. I ordered via the website, received a confirmation email of my order, received an email when it had been dispatched and received it in approx 10 days regardless of the fact they're in the US. I did not get any custom charges either. I may have just been a lucky one but I see no issue with this company...my order of foundation and powder came in pristine condition and packaging. I will not only recommend to my friends and family but definitely use again! And did I add shipping was FREE for orders over £20!

I wouldn't mind if it was made abundantly clear on the front page, as well as in really huge letters on every page of the ordering process.

Ridiculous shipping times *and* unexpected customs charges do not make for happy customers or repeat business...

I was slightly concerned about ordering from this site due to some bad reviews .
I ordered anyway and was very surprised with the easy transaction, excellent communication, quick delivery and quality of the products purchased.
Would definitely use again.

I recently bought a toothpaste from the UK website of Vitamingrocer, which failed to inform me of the fact that the product contains lead. When I complained, they simply tried to brush me off with the claim that US law doesn't require them to do so. Which clearly shows that they have no understanding of what kind of customers they are dealing with in the health market. Such people are not satisfied with the shabby protection these laws provide; they want to be informed of all the ingredients of the products they buy, because they want to make informed decisions. Otherwise they would just go to the next hypermarket and buy the cheapest toothpaste without the hassle of overseas shipping, premium prices, etc.

In spite of not providing me with the information I would have wanted to have before purchasing the product, customer service felt empowered to argue with me and educate me about the law in a rather patronising fashion, which means they're treating their customers with the same contempt at corporations like J*****n &J*****n and the like.

After waiting 12 -days for my order I thought I'd better check where it is and logged onto my account with Vitamin Grocer UK only to find out its a US based company pretending to be a UK company at which point I felt betrayed.
This is extremely poor practice and totally un-ethical, this should be made very clear when making a purchase which it is not, its hidden in the small print
Automatically you think when a company calls itself Vitamin Grocer UK and has a UK URL, you think you are dealing with a UK based operation, this is not the case.
And the real issue is UK customs charging VAT on declared value and Royal Mail taking their cut of £8- handling fee, for which they dont even deliver to your house just leave a card saying you owe money, they want the cash up front after you've driven all the way to the sorting office.
Dont get me wrong but after paying all this money for delivery & packaging the least somebody could do is deliver it to you, I think all this should be borne by the US company, which would stop this practice of appearing to be cheaper than UK prices, thereby leading you into thinking you are getting a really good deal only to find out that thats not the case, it makes small orders very, very expensive and time consuming, I may aswell have gone down to Boots and stopped all this mucking about.
Trading Standards if your reading this you need to step in and STOP this practice as in my mind this would be treated as False Advertising if it was a UK company involved.
I am very disappointed to say the least and hope that the rest of the UK realises if it appears to be to good a deal then it probably is.

I ordered on the 15th April and received my goods on the 23rd (2 bank holidays in between to). So fast free shipping from the USA.

I ordered dog toys I couldn't find here so another good reason to shop here.

It does state in the terms and shipping details they ship from the USA I didn't read until after I placed my order.

Received an email saying mybitems had been shipped and tracking info, but once the parcel leaves the USA tracking is not updated.

In will order again as they dog toys are great and unusual.

Customer service staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and they really did look after me.

As other reviewers I did order from them under the assumption that they are UK based and I would receive my order in a few days. Only after the order is placed, you find out that they are based in the US and ship from there. It has been over 2 weeks since my order and I am yet to receive anything. I believe the biggest issue with this company is that their website misleads the buyers by making it look like they are UK based. This is done on purpose and is highly unethical. I will never buy anything from them again.

Do you deliver prazipro to uk as just orderd and thought it was uk based so if im going to recieve it thats great if not what to do

Got what i asked for and could monitor delivery time.

I have purchased goods from this company on a number of occasions and have always received a fast , efficient service(10-14 business days) . There are a number of products that they sell which are not available in the UK, so I rely on being able to order them from Vitamin Grocer and they have not let me down. I would recommend them.

I was pleased with the product availability of the items I ordered from this company. I have been using Surya henna cream over the past three or four years, but I have had difficulty in getting this product at a reasonable price in the past. Vitamin Grocer UK also offered free postage of orders over £20, making the items more cost effective. I did have to wait a little longer for my goods as they came from the USA. I did share my concerns with this company that I was a little worried that although my items had been dispatched some 10 days or so I still hadn't received my goods. Vitamin Grocer UK responded within 24 hours and were very helpful and reassuring and asked me to keep them informed of further problems. I will be using this company again and would recommend this company to others.

too long of a list, cant be bothered with vitamin grocer. they do not inform you about anything, like when they dispatch your items

Because of the .co.uk URL i thought this was a UK site. As it happens it is based in the US which isn't instantly clear until you look at the "contact us" section. The saving grace was that eventually my items arrived. I would order again but i'd make sure that i didn't need the item within a week, Delivery took 14 days.
