Yes, they are SCAMMERS who have HIJACKED my books and are refusing to relinquish them even though I parted ways with them over a decade ago. They are continuing to "sell" my books at around a $300 mark. Thats the reason why my books arent selling. I have threatened them with legal action, however, they ignored me. I will shortly be taking legal action against them for illegally hijacking my books, and for loss of income. Xlibris response to me is a blatant lie! They are selling my books as NEW on Amazon for around $300+ hence my books dont sell! Their entire response is yet another manipulation tactic and a lie. They have NOT cancelled the sales of my BOOKS! Xlibris=SCAMMERS 100%!

I signed up with X Libris late in 2022, and was bombarded with comments telling me how good the manuscript was, and how everyone was thrilled with it
All good for my ego. and like Mr McFadden's review was bamboozled by the fact that when I called them I spoke to people in the Phillipines, and in Utah USA. I was told they had an office in Chatswood Sydney NSW, but when you called it, it seemed that the call was being relayed to another number. After paying the initial fee, which was on special, I was then offered other services such as marketing, and even told that my book could be turned into a movie. When I asked where the book was to be marketed I was told Europe, USA, Mexico and China. Having been a former law enforcement officer I smelt a rat and told X Libris I wanted my money back and pulled out of the deal. Despite my request I did not get one cent back, and it was a very large amount, far in excess of what I should have been charged in my opinion. I subsequently got another publisher who published my book for a fraction of the price. Overall it was a very costly experience, if I ever write another book, it will be about how NOT to publish a book

I finished my book now trying to get it produced and published. It seems the pricing is a 'bait and switch'. The communication back to me sucks in general. You're 'sign-up' mgr. wont be around when the work starts. You get an off shore person assigned who is never around if you call and responds slowly via email. It is impossible to call them and get anyone on the phone. They work "banker's hours" apparently. I feel that they have a US phone number but all the work is done off shore. This is similar to most if not all "discount" book publishers/ghostwriting companies. If fear they they are just another US front to off shore workers and probably part of the giant foreign run publishing cartel. To the others posting here, I feel your pain.

I could not find any response about royalites of my book : Addiction from start to the end published in 2010 for last 15 year only the first years total royalities less tha $10 dollars and after that nothing but my book is selling by AMAZON and some others but no royalities , no person to be responsible ?
my phone and address given to the xlibris many time and the know my E mail and many time I receive E mail from xlibiris asking me to buy 100 or moreof my boks ?????????????.

On April 1, I got a call from someone at the company telling me that I'd "'missed" two payments. This comes to over $1000. It's odd that my rent, which is 4x the amount of one payment, went through without a problem, as did the rest of my bills. When I tried to contact them via the email on the message, it was sent back. A fraudulent email address! This casts no small amount of doubt on my part as to the company's legitimacy. I have had major second thoughts about my decision to let this company handle my book. I had trouble with them on my first book. I should've learned my lesson. Tip to writers looking at Xlibris to take care of their book: walk away!! I don't trust them. How can something be "miskeyed" when THEY'RE the ones keying it in? This company is a fraud and a scam!!!t Take your work elsewhere, authors!

Xlibris is still offering for sale my novel even though the publisher's agreement expired 9 years ago.
I have not received a dime in royalties in the last 9 years, even though my novel is being sold at a dozen different bookstores.

This xlibris publishing cheat me $10,000 to write a book and marketing. Cannot sell a book but keep cheat author money. They cannot use the $10,000 to buy even one book. sell book is completely poor but (focus cheat author money.) Call them sale is bad. What they do is ask you spent more money to do marketing let them cheat money.

I received a 1099 for books sold but I never received a payment. And when I contacted the company about this I got no response. This tells you everything you need to know about this company.

I was pleased with their promptness and attention and the quality and layout of my book Xlibris published. I am not pleased with their false advertising that claimed that if one referred an author to them whose book they published, they would pay one hundred dollars. I referred an author who was published more than a year ago. After calling at least several times and asking for the money, I haven't received it. The last time I called, a representative said they would get back to me in a few days. That was a few weeks ago and they haven't got back to me.

Had an issue actually receiving my book. It just never showed up. But your company worked with me well and had my copy replaced. I hate to say it, but I had to threaten with a bad review. But I’m also sticking to my promise and said I would give them a five star review if they sent me another. It was sent in a very timely manner with Insurance. Thank you.

Absolute scam artists. Overpriced packages meet terrible service. Once you buy a publishing package they hard sell you things like marketing and book Fair packages that are complete rip offs. Marketing packages like all their packages contain a laundry list of worthless inclusions. Marketing packages do zero marketing where it matters (ie: on Amazon) and there is no disclosure of how much ad spend is included. The book videos are terrible and most have fewer than 25 actual views. When you stop buying their add ons, they drop you like a rock and you have to fight to even get your published book finished. Xlibris are part of a group all owned by the same US company, so all equally terrible and almost predatory in their actions. For thousands less you can self publish without the rip off. Also, they own your book, you don't. Read the small print.

I found my 1st experience with the Xlibris teams easy to work with. They give you an experience of 'can do' and they delivered exactly what they offered. While the costs may be a concern, they allowed payment plans for each service I agreed too. They entered and listed my book at an international fair, and a multitude of online bookstores. I have gained so much knowledge on how to approach bookstores, pricing and so much more. Everyone has been exceptional. You can pick which services you want and those you don't want. One of team was extremely pushy, which was something I don't want to experience again, but it did in fact give me physical international exposure, for which I'm grateful. Their Author Learning centre is informative and accessible. My teams were helpful, and patient and were fast to return my edits, publish and print the book with delivery.
I would recommend them.

Here they go again while 3 months ago xlibris had only one star isn’t it strange how xlibris have hands on the internet putting up good reviews taking down the bad reviews changing their star ratings. Ripping off the authors keeping their royalties selling there’s inspiration selling them short. I had so much information of sales good reports all taken down they call me all the time for 4 years asking for the other 4 x 500 page books but they get nothing ever again from me. Dynamics Allegiance Development. Google it the second hand copies tell tales of sales. A 21st edition volume is a very big one. Sold into the campuses around the USA 21st edition. Into biography & biographies rich & famous Discipline subjects radio & television fluent English government reference works & reference work encyclopaedia & 21st edition series. Sold at $74-$110 a copy states good reading. Into all libraries state wide library USA libraries congressional libraries. I have all the proof of sales I wonder who keeps my 10% royalties I thought 90% was very fair giving the fact the marketing was excellent. Also they put my title under another author from the UK with the same first & last name. How infuriating they are. I will sue them for copyright infringement conspiracy to defraud title embezzlement etc I’ll get the million dollars they owe me. These people are the sickness of America. They say they have headcounter inn Australia but just another lie they lie threw there teeth

I am as green as grass when it comes to the process of what happens after submission, but all the people I was involved with were very helpful and answered all my questions, either by phone or e-mail. I have ended up with a product I am very proud of.

Ordered 3 books. Never delivered. Wouldn't resend or refund.
Customer service was terrible. Update they made it right and sent out my books.

I have self-published two large books on the history of psychiatry using the services of Xlibris. For each book, a coordinator gently guided me through the complexities of publishing.
After many proof reads, corrections and more corrections, the books went to the printers. The quality of presentation and materials was beyond what I expected.
I agreed to a marketing package which was extensive but did not result in a great number of sales. There was no guarantee that people would buy my books which only appealed to a niche market.
I suggest self-publishers research the cost benefit of different marketing strategies before making a decision. It is wise to get a professional to proof read the first printed draft. It will save time and expense in the long run.
It is better economics, If possible, to sell your book directly or by consignment. Xlibris will give suggestions on how best to be your own salesperson. Dont expect to start to make a profit unless you can sell over a 1000 copies. Personal satisfaction knowing someone has appreciated your book makes it worth while.
The services of Xlibris were consistent, responsive and professional.

The journey of publishing was fun and amazing. I did think the package I purchased, was the wrong one recommended. As half of the services have not been valuable to be from that process.

The second book going now is a much better process. Feels more trustworthy

I have had contact with Xlibris over many years through publishing of my books. Reprinting of books is costly and I feared that I could not afford to order any books at present. However, the Xlibris representative found a special deal that enabled me to order a smaller than normal number of copies. I appreciate the work done by the representative to enable this. He turned what felt like a negative phone call into a positive one as he worked calmly to achieve his goal without pressuring me.

The people, the people, the people ... or with a more beautiful word in Maori ... Tangata, tangata, tangata... made all the difference. They are real, they are professional, they are kind, they are capable of tuning in to another human being, their customer. They really know their job, and they make you feeling, you are in good hands ... and still part of the process.
Like when you were a child and your bigger brother took your hand, walking through the forest at night.

I had great experience with Xlibris , i successfully published my Two Books and excellent staff
