I published a book with Xlibris in 2011. The publishing and other services they provided cost me a small fortune and all for no results. Nothing, nada, zip. I don't even know if their services were real. Especially considering that many services I'd paid for were never completed! The only time I hear from Xlibris is when they try to get me to part with more of my hard-earned cash. They're always asking for money! That appears to be their complete business model. If I could give them a score of zero I would! You cannot trust Xlibris. They put me through 12 years of hell with their constant phone calls to elicit money out of me, for services one could not even be sure are real. NOTE: Trust the 1 Star reviews. Don't trust anything with 4 stars and higher.

This company is not a good company for authors. They ask you for more money to help you market your as they say only to set you up for a failed mission and they also do not investigate or deliver sales from customers who are not receiving there orders.

Lies, inaccurate information, bullies, incompetent, little help, Money grabbing. Hidden stuff in contracts that are not explained. Mostly made a fool out of me.

Xlibris staff said they would push on getting this job done before the lucrative holidays, and they did. We got the book published in very little time, a month or 6 weeks. They did a beautiful job on the illustrations. I could not have been happier with them. Whatever they said they were going to do, they did! They got right on it and did it.

I signed with XLIBRIS in the summer 2023. However, there have been one problem after the other. Firstly, my draft was on all online platforms for at least one month before taking down. I was very disappointed and it was very frustrating. I kept calling and sending emails, however it took a while for someone to acknowledge the problem and fix it. I finally received my book order only to find there is nothing about the author in the book. The only 2 persons really helped me out was Ted and Dustin. I’m very disappointed and it’s very disheartening.

Great communication. Artwork was awesome . Everything was finished in a timely manner and the book turned out fantastic!

Xlibris has taken over a year to complete the PR Marketing, Social Media and promotions I paid for. Also, the press release was sub par and aesthetically unappealing. They did not really write the press release. They just cut and pasted answers Igave on the questionnaire.

My initial contact with Xlibris was outstanding. Joseph really helped me get this to the editing phase. Without his help it would never have been published.

The editing and artwork phase was just as amazing.

My only negative for the entire process was the marketing teams persistence in trying to upsell me to a more expensive marketing package despite repeated requests to stop asking me and calling me.

All of my family and friends so far have been loving it.

This company is nothing more than a scam. They are difficult to deal with. The standard of what they send through is very poor. They constantly keep badgering you to sign up for more and more marketing, yet wont explain it to you or refund the money if you decide not to go ahead. I have now seen from other reviews they dont pay their authors their royalties. I have cancelled my order with them but they wont return any calls. They state that Oprah supports they are the best self publisher so i will be writing to Oprah and let her know they are just a scam.

When they say you will have a team that was what they gave me, this was new to me so I really was not sure what I was doing, I just knew how to write. So I did and they took their time with what I did not know. and helped me to understand better what I did know or thought I knew, I did not rush with what I was writing or sign off on anything until I was ready. Not to call any names, from the first person to sign me up to the last person to put my book out there all were a part of my team, I am pleased and you can still reach out to them and I have. So five stars ✨ from me I hope to use Xlibris again thank you.

I am having a great experience being contacted by people who have purchased my first book. I have discovered that I know very little of the publication process and wish I had started to review this process at least six months before the publishing date.

My dealings with Yuki were great but the rest of the company is just money hungry, they don’t listen to you… constantly calling and pushing for you to buy more marketing even after you have said you are not interested or can’t afford it. I found Jake to be really harassing, since sending them an email; Jake has stopped calling me and it is now someone else from marketing. This company is honestly not worth the headache and is just after receiving money more than anything and will tell you whatever they need to in order to get you to agree to purchasing a package. Still waiting on my royalties to be paid out. Whenever I search my book online both soft and hard copy books are “unavailable.” Not impressed it was put on google books which can now be read for free.
I wish I did better research and went through a different company. I’m in the process of looking at publishing a second book and definitely will be doing better research into companies and not using Xlibris again. What a joke.

It’s Tommy, with regards Xlibris deserves 11/11, fast and efficient workers, very professional, friendly service and life savers. Top quality products and fantastic customer service. My favourite experiences involve these publishers.

Things started to fall apart at the end. The folks helping with the set up and publishing were helpful. But once transferred to my "book consultant" I couldn't easily get a call back, was provided incorrect information, and when I asked to change the delivery address, was told the message was received, BUT DIDN'T change the address. I received the books and I am unhappy with the print quality of the photos; it doesn't seem to match what I approved on the galley photos. They asked me to send an email with pictures, which I did. Four days later, no one has contacted me to discuss.

They are petty.

One day, I went on the Google search engine and looked up my book as I wanted to share the link and I noticed all links for people to buy the hard cover book were removed. All links to buy a soft cover were removed. All kindle links were removed. They decided that Instead they were going to transfer the book file to Google and make it public, so everyone can read it for free. I never signed anything giving them permission to do this, but they thought they could do whatever they wanted after they got the money.

Also, any money made off the book sales, they kept it. I think this business is petty. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re bankrupted in a few years. I wouldn’t recommend a petty company to anyone as I thought this was very rude, but the universe saw what they did. Their company is ran from ego rather then fairness and they don’t have integrity if they did my review would be positive not negative.

Stay as far away from this company as humanly possible. Lots of promises that they were unable to deliver, and then if you knew the amount of hassle we went through to get a substandard partial refund, you would be shocked. If you insist on using them, read every tiny piece of fine print with an attorney present, because they'll nail you on everything and won't be able to deliver what they promise in the end. It's been nothing but an incredibly miserable experience. Stay far, far away.

It is important for the agents to be more proactive after processing the orders. In the process of trying to get business there are innumerable calls at the oddest hours and once they get the payment then it takes forever to even get a response and many times we don't . It is dissapointing to say the least specially since the books or services are not cheap at all. I am working on another book and do not think I would choose Xlibris again to publish it for the reasons cited above. The book cost is also very steep whereas the quality is never guaranteed. For my last book which is pictorial it was important to have the paper quality as glossy so the pictures look good and I was given this after requesting very much on the second order. I have reordered another 100 books and have been begging someone to reply to several of my emails guarantying the same but I have yet to receive a single reply from anyone assuring me the saem! I always tag every mail ie the Marketing agent, Author's solution, customer satisfaction etc. but no reply!!!
