Be very very careful about acquiring the services of this publisher. You have been warned.

The red flag review comments noted here and from others are true. This publisher will bleed you for money and then run to the hills.

They won’t keep getting away with it for much longer

The truth is, my experience with Xlibris so far not been great, good perhaps, but there are a few things I wish was done differently. FOR EXAMPLE, encouraging me to spend money on exposures that in my book would have been better spent on getting my book in book stores. How effective can be getting the book to international markets when it is only publish in English? I published 2 books before and I never thought that the font would be a problem. I am still waiting to see the book to know if I will be satisfies with the print font. The FONt size of a book can be a deciding factor on hpw many books are sold.

This company seems only to be interested in making money, having signed a contract with Xlibris they then wanted me to sign a second contract for more money, but not refund the first contract, which I hadn't used.
When asked Xlibris to refund, Exlibris declined.
The bank blocked Xlibris from charging my account from further payments, however, was not able refund the first payment due to the signed contract.
I was advised to contact the ACCC, which I will do.
Xlibris is not a company I would advise anyone to publish with.

As a green, beginning author I was more than happy when Xlibris wanted to publish my first two books HAMLET IN BALTIMORE and ALEX AND THE AMAZING CATVENTURES.
I never even heard of BBB or Trustpilot reviews and ratings. (lowest ratings) I was given a "Discounted price" but was told I also MUST purchase various additional items like subscription to a magazine which features review of books etc.
Xlibiris promised to do publish the a manuscripts that i submitted that and my own illustrations by Michael Wittman. I waited for the proofread copy which was done by a number of people (did the first editors quit?)
Hamlet was published and a number friends and family members purchased it .Then I started receiving =emails from the readers. They all loved the book but complained about the number of major grammatical errors.
English is my 4th language so I expected that Xlibris will, during proofreading and editing make the necessary corrections
I paid Xlibris again for reprinting and was sent a number of costly propositions for advertising but no royalties. The company claimed that no copies were sold. ALL IN ALL I SPENT about $20,000. Even when I sent the a printout of the sales sheet from Amazon there were no royalties paid. I had to contact other companies to correct and reprint my books. That was my retirement money.

The greatest value I received in publishing my three books with Xlibris, resulted from the great contributions made by the staff of Xlibris.
1. The very reasonable pricing for the three combined books.
2. Convincing me to breakdown my rather large and complicated book into three more manageable books.
3. The patience with all the additional editing that this change in format required.
4. The willingness of the staff of Xlibris to assist in the marketing of the books for a vary reasonable fee.
5. The quality of the final production of the books.

The service is great, the book looks great though you forgot to fix simple grammatical errors.
But I don't trust the marketers, they talk a lot with great speech but they do nothing. they charge exorbitant Facebook ads, amazon ads blah blah blah but they sip beer and tell you that you had 1000 impressions, 10 clicks and no sale after pocketing thousands

Horrible company at paying royalty and editing material. I published a book with them called Reasonable Doubt by Fisha Nekongo. I give no recommendation for any new author to publish with Xlibris.

Had it just been the production services for my book I'd purchased, I'd have given Xlibris six stars. They did a fabulous job of quickly designing a perfect cover from a painting I'd sent to them. Unfortunately, Xlibris has more than missed the mark on all other services for which I'd paid very high prices. Giving them three stars here was generous of me.
It has been several months since I fully paid for the audio version, three independent reviews of my book and press release services. I haven't gotten as much as an update on where things are with even starting any of those agreed upon projects. I have badgered Xlibris several times about all of these, without an adequate response, i.e., actually moving forward and producing the things they'd promised to produce in connection to my book.
My recommendation to anyone looking to self-publish is to purchase only the packaging and formatting services from Xlibris, and look elsewhere for everything else.

They sell publishing packages in a very sweet and promising manner. I have waited for 2 years after submitting my whole script to them. I never saw any work done by them in two years. When I said I want to quit, they shared the same Word file I shared with them a long time back. Though I was always getting marketing calls from their company for further buying the packages. Finally, I told them to terminate the contract with me then they said ok but after that, they are not taking care of refunds or any call or any communication. People are trusting them. Xlibris is a fraud company, Social justice should take action against this company. I do not know what should I do to take my script and money back

This is my second published work with this company. I really appreciate them walking me through everything concerning making sure I corrected any mistakes, choosing the right cover photo, and helping with the editing. I really appreciate the time everyone took with me to see my project come to fruition.

Xlibris I paid $9000. For publishing editing & marketing they sold all around the world into 30 agencies including every amazon store around the world UK 🇬🇧 AmericA 🇺🇸 Canada 🇨🇦 Germany 🇩🇪 Australia 🇦🇺 & other amazon countries. My book Dynamics Allegiance Development ( Steppingstones Of Reason ) is inn every state library here inn Australia 🇦🇺 although since publishing inn 2021 June these Xlibris people after I’ve seen 💯 s of etags sold promising 💯 % royalties on etag & 10% royalties from every book sale’s they gave me nothing & told me they only sold one book. How infuriating how humiliating how do these Xlibris keep going with staking the internet with false information ℹ️ & taking for granted with lies & false promises this company should be sued for damages & shut down. Never ever ever trust or think about using Xlibris for publishing your great work

The books are beautiful, but they’re charged too much for a copy

It was very difficult to talk with anyone with any expertise. They want you to sign up and give them money and then you are given an agent to work with who seems to know nothing about publishing. Each stage is handled by a different person, and if it gets bogged down or needs an explanation, you end up NOT talking to the person you need. I ended up cancelling the book with them and got only half my money back. Unless you have a very simple book with not images, do not go with this company

The company is prompt in delivering as promised. The production is fast and satisfying. My problem is in the marketing of the products. They want you to pay off the agreed amount for the marketing of the books, rather than taking the marketing fee from the money derived from the book sells. They know if the book does well, it's a win win situation for all. Above all, I like their service.
