I recently completed my Class 1 HGV training with 2 Start Ltd and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to gain their HGV qualifications.

My instructor, Ian, was excellent throughout the entire process. He imparted a huge amount of knowledge and experience, provided constructive feedback in a positive and professional manner, and always took the time to explain areas for improvement clearly. His instruction was thorough, supportive, and tailored to help me develop both my driving skills and confidence behind the wheel. He was a fantastic instructor and a credit to the company.

Phil was equally excellent during the CPC element of the training. He delivered the course professionally and was always happy to discuss any issues or questions I had. He also provided valuable advice and support when Ian and I were reviewing areas of my driving that needed improvement, which I greatly appreciated.

Although I was unfortunately unsuccessful on my practical test, this was entirely due to my own error in judgement and not a reflection of the training I received. I have since rebooked my test for 2nd July with a provider in the North East purely for logistical reasons and not because of anything relating to 2 Start Ltd.

Overall, my experience with 2 Start Ltd was extremely positive. The quality of instruction, professionalism, and support provided by both Ian and Phil was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to obtain their HGV qualifications.

I had multiple conversations over a period of weeks and it was clear the individual I was dealing with didn't know the process I was enquiring about well enough. This is even more disappointing as I am currently leaving the military and this company is down as a trusted training provider. I wouldn't recommend to any military personnel transitioning to civilian employment.

Just completed my 5 day online CPC training course with 2 Start. Mark the instructor was great, very welcoming and knowledgeable.
The course itself is a good tool for new drivers and a great way to refresh and learn new legislation second time round.
Mark kept us all motivated, with plenty of interesting interaction throughout the course.
I would definitely recommend 2 Start as a training provider. keep up the good work Mark. Thank you for a great week Gary Cole

I took my C+E class 1 driver training with Natt Armstrong at 2Start Winchester Depot.
Despite having no previous driving experience in a class 1 truck, Natt made the whole driving process to gain my license in a skilled and professional way throughout.
He’s been operating trucks for many years and his training style was laid back and patient. But showing me knowledge of the road and what to expect on my test in a confident professional manner throughout.
I passed first time, undoubtedly due to Natts training and a bit of natural ability that’s required to get you through.
Highly recommend 2Start for all your HGV and forklift training requirements.

A very poor training experience with 2 Start Training. Booked a Moffet Training course on Friday 22/08/2025 - Private Canidate - Course Fee £660, Paid in full in advance. This Training company is one of a very few in southern England that offers a IN-HOUSE Moffet course. Enquired about the course by phone a couple of weeks prior to booking date, I was interested in a Novice or something similar course, as I have no experience driving a Moffet, but do posses a valid in-date Counterbalance license which I have had for nearly thirty years and has always been refreshed every 3 years. The male customer service person told me I could do a conversion course, in a day for alot less money, I was not that sure as I felt a day would not be enough, but went with his advice. The course time is advertised for 7am - 4pm. But was told to come in for 08:30am. I arrived, parked in there yard and was greeted at reception by two employess, one was my Instructor Mr David Massey, who asked which company I was from, I told him I was a private canidate, he already knew this. I was the only canidate on the course. We started the theroy, which finished at around 11.30am, I passed, then went on the practical which was on the other side of the yard. The first thing I noticed was the seat, the cooler cap was wedged underneath it making the seat dislodged, uncomfortable and defective. I was showed the controls and to turn the machine on, on start up I was told to keep my foot idle on the sea- saw accelerator to keep the machine from cutting out. I was slightly amazed, a little shocked and definitely defective. I got used to it going round the circuit, but still did not feel right, the chicane of three cones was setup, and I drove forward & backwards 3 times with relative ease. Next was using the actul forks to pick up some box uk pallets, sat on top of the model Moffet mount. This did not go too well as I manged to knock another pallet over. But, it was the reaction from the instructer, totally over- reacted, told me to go and have 10mins, again amazed & shocked. This was now coming up to 1pm when Mr Massey came round and basically told we should call it day, oh and the bosses needs that part of the yard at 14.30pm. I did not like what I was being told, we all make mistakes, especially in training. I thought he was completely unprofessional lacking basic skill's of an instructer showing great example with the situation as thee. Then being told the boss needs to use that part of yard in an hour. They tried to make another booking with me before I left, even insisting I pay now to save a space for a booking the following week, I declined and told them I would call back, no no. A quite simply rubbish, shoudy & very unprofessional experience/company. Using defective machines should have been reported to a regulator at the time, I should have refused to drive the machine with a defective seat and accelarator in hindsight.
The mistake in the practical was the iceing on the cake for them, totally over egged the situation and then trying to get me to pay for another course at full price. Be weary!

Had training for banksman easy course Greg was brilliant i am due to start my HGV class 2 on 5th Jan and when he was told this by a colleague of mine went out of his time to talk to me about the course and requirements making me feeling more comfortable for the 5th January am looking forward to it!

I give 5 starts for the trainers at Start training. I just completed my Forklift licence and they make everything easier while stressing important details. Jora is the best. I highly recommend this one for Forklift training in Melbourne.

Full 5 days ADR training with Clint. Well informed course, Excellent instructor.

Worst driving school you could go to because my Instructor was on the phone whilst i was driving the whole time which is illegal and dangerous then one of their employees who replies to reviews started lying saying that the instructor only used the phone in the reception. Lastly the numpty who replied to my review on google started leaking confidetial emails that I sent to them about the course. So to conclude they actually broke the law twice by firstly using a mobile phone whilst the learner is driving, then they lie when they reply to 1 star reviews stating that my instructor only used his phone in the reception just for a licence check when actually it was in the truck too whilst i was driving, then when they broke the law the second time was by posting customers emails publicly when replying to reviews. If 2 start can't handle critism and honest feedback from customers then maybe they shouldn't run the business anymore.

the guys at the southampton depot were great! they made you feel welcome and they were very knowledgeable.

I've done two courses with this company. The first was HGV Class C which I started with zero experience. The instructors got me through at the second attempt. They were professional and patient throughout.
The second course was ADR, which was quite tough to get through in just a week. The instructor was very knowledgeable and approachable. There seemed to be a tight schedule and lots of copying notes from PowerPoint presentations. It was quite difficult to both keep up at times and to listen to what the instructor was saying. He seemed to be on a tight schedule to get through everything. I've been a University student and we used to be given printed out PowerPoint slide notes so we could give the lecturer more attention. I think perhaps this might be a better way. To his credit, he got me through the course so he achieved what he needed to.

Rob was great, precise and well delivered course.
Excellent communication and made me feel very relaxed throughout.

Passed my class C recently first time with 2 Start. Marcus was my instructor. Great service from start to finish. Patient but thorough training process focusing on what needs to be done in order to achieve the pass.

At the beginning of the week, I had never driven an 18T Truck . By Friday I am now qualified to drive that Truck ! Firstly , " Thank you " to 2 Start Ltd - Management for providing a Professional Operation with safe , clean trucks to drive . Secondly a very big " Thank You " to Paul B for his Instruction , Guidance and Encouragement in order for me to complete this challenge. I felt very fortunate to have had the benefit of all his driving Experience ! " Thank you ", also to Greg for his professional guidance through Modular 4 . " Thank you , 2 - Start Ltd for an Excellent Service ".

Would like to thank my instructor Rob C, and the wider team at 2 Start in Worthing for all their help. My employer paid for my course which mean I had to travel 3 hours to Worthing, but I am so glad I did! I Passed my C1 after 3 days training at Worthing, despite having never been to the area. Can not fault 2 Start. Rob was very calm and professional. Gave me a demonstration of what the examiner looks for and then gave great feedback on my driving both during the lesson as well as a debrief after every lesson. The encouragement he gave me despite my nerves and self doubt enabled me to pass first time as I remembered all the helpful tips and instructions he gave me throughout the lessons whilst out on my test. Very grateful to Rob and 2Start, and would highly recommend to anyone!
