This company is diabolical and like the other reviewers, it does not even deserve 1 star (but unfortunately you cannot put zero).
Our school food bins have not been emptied for 4 weeks and every day we chase up we get fobbed off. They have no care for customer service - their phone hold message states that they offer "best customer service"... what a joke! "We over promise, we do not deliver and don't care when we don't" should be their strapline. Its absolutely disgusting they treat their customers like they do

Very fast, responsive and professional people able to help quickly with quieries and issues. Seems very organised and friendly; happy to have moved away from previous, more stressful, suppliers!

We have had B+M waste as our waste supplier for nearly a year now, our manager is Duane Houghton and is always available when we need him and is very proactive in dealing with issues even before they arise.

The team at B&M consistently provide The Cotswold Company with a great service. When we have encountered an issue they have always been quick to respond and resolve which is exactly the level of service we expect as a business. They are competitively priced within the market given the level of service they provide. With the recent legislation with food waste coming into force they have been fantastic in guiding us through what we need to do as a business and have demonstrated how agile they are in terms of getting us to the point of being compliant. As a very satisfied client I would have no issue in recommending B&M Waste to other businesses.

Max attended site last December, advised me that B&M Waste were a far better service than Biffa, so we decided to change, we gave Biffa 6 months notice and Friday was their day to take over, Biffa removed their bins and I'm still waiting for the new bins from the great supplier B&M Waste to be dropped off, its TUESDAY! We are now overrun with waste and have nowhere to put it. B&M Waste service dept do not answer the phone and I cannot get hold of anyone. Do not go with this supplier unless you like stress.

They don’t deserve 1 star !
They collect waste from schools from across the Rochdale area and are renowned for being absolutely useless. Missed our general waste collections for over 3 weeks now. They finally suppled a food waste bin which was late and haven’t collected it once in over 6 weeks! Avoid at all costs!

We took out a two-year contract with B&M Waste Services in May 2023. We wrote to them in February to cancel the contract. We didn't hear back from them, so spoke to them over the phone today. We have now been made aware that we needed to inform them that we wished to cancel in November last year, SIX MONTHS before the contract was due to expire. We are now in a so-called "Rolling Contract" for another TWO YEARS and cannot try and cancel again until November 2026!
MAKE SURE you read the very small print in the contract or they'll get you too! They don't send out reminders or issue new contracts. Since when is a "Rolling Contract" TWO YEARS??!!

I strongly advise caution when engaging with this company. Over an extended period, we have encountered persistent issues including **double-charging for services** and **failure to collect waste** as agreed. Despite repeated attempts to resolve these problems directly with the company, their responses have been misleading and unproductive.

We are now compelled to report these practices to **Trading Standards** due to the company’s refusal to rectify their breaches of contract

This is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with, service shocking, customer service disgraceful.
These clowns really make my pi$$ boil, in 20 years of doing business they hit a new all time low.
Not once have they ever replied to an email, pig ignorant is what it is.

If you want to get tied into a lengthy contract that you are stuck with, even when it no longer suits the needs of your business. And you would like to be charged astronomical termination fee, then go with B&M.

Awful service, waste container never arrived and still continued to take money from our account for 3months even though we never received our waste bin. Terrible customer service who is most definitely not interested and just pass you from pillar to post. Dreadful company and run by thieves. STAY WELL CLEAR (SCAMMERS)

Harrison Holland review

Harrison was very professional and efficient when it came to offering us a waste solution, we are glad he came into our business as he has educated me and my staff for the waste side of things whilst saving us money on our waste!

The representative from the company was extremely proficient and helpful. He was always contactable and this has made the process very easy.

Harrison Holland was appointed our main contact to deal with our waste contract with B&M Waste Services. Harrison is very efficient and understands what we require as a company. Even though they are a large company, the service Harrison and his team offer is very personal and I always look forward to our meetings. Harrison will always try and give us the best deal he can and we know we can trust him to deliver. We are very happy with our service.

Not to be trusted lie after lie incompetence will not empty your bin excuse after excuse but quick to take your money

B&M's customer service is appalling. Nobody answers your emails, every invoice they sent me was wrong so I needed to resolve but took far too much time to actually get a response from somebody - even after escalating to management.
The same thing happened every month until I managed to ditch them - even their final invoice was wrong, so had to go through the whole rigmarole again and try to get a response from someone.
Worst customer service I've ever had from anywhere.
I would avoid this company like the plague!

EDIT - I didn't think things could get worse.....but I received an invoice yesterday for bins being emptied on 10th Feb - my contract was cancelled (thankfully) on the 4th Feb. I can't believe they get everything wrong at every opportunity!
To be fair, someone actually picked up the phone today and spoke to me (that's a first) and assured me I wouldn't hear from B&M again.
Let's see what next month brings........

Avoid

Started a contract in 2023 for 2 years our landlord then provided us bins and the company was informed, received a call after my email, saying we had to pay until 10/2/2025 but that it was logged we would end contract in 2025

We honoured and accepted this “integrity” - paying the contract for 2 years and reached the date we had agreed, they automatically rolled over without prior consent or any notice of that and despite us informing them 2 months after sign up and paying for a service we didn’t use for 2 years.

As a small independent business this is damaging and operating costs we had not planned after 10/2/25.

Now been told no log of the cancellation of course, it was via telephone although they have been sent the email where I informed them.

A formal complaint made and now with the managers and as yet waiting outcome?!

We have been told we have to accept the rollover contract by B&M and for us to terminate now would be 40% of the annual charge, baring in mind contract ended 10/2/25 and this call was 11/02/25 so not really as if they can’t cancel with 2 years notice!!

No rollover ever discussed or agreed, no notice of automated contract (which of course there wouldn’t be via telephone), no log of the cancellation but they understand it’s frustrating? NO NO they don’t!

Would not recommend and mortified I have had to leave a star to leave the review!

Avoid this company at all cost, customer service is the worst and managements dealing with the errors are shocking...

Consistent collection errors... they cannot seem to get right even after 4 years..

We cannot wait until the contract ends and we can leave this debacle of a company behind ..

There are better family run businesses out there so please look around before thinking of this company.

Where do you start with a company like this if you are a business thinking of using these believe me do not bother they are by far the worst company we have ever encountered. Staff is absolutely daft as a brush and not an absolute clue of what there doing there charging us for 3 lifts when the bin wasn’t even on our premises then and than charging another 2 lifts on our GW bin and it’s still full from the start of January but supposedly they’ve emptied it 3x. If your are using this company I’d check your invoices and after reading all the other negative reviews we will now be moving over to Biffa. DO NOT USE THESE JOKERS WOULDNT TRUST THEM TO RUN A BATH

If i could go less than 1 star then I would. From initial sign up this company are a joke to deal with. From the start they didnt carry out what they promised. Was told it would be a seamless transfer from start to finish. Never informed my current supplier that they was taking over then delivered me a new bin. Never returned calls despite numerous messages left then to rub salt into the wounds stole my current suppliers bin when we was closed and up until now still havent returned it or even bothered to call to let me know whats going on despite numerous phone calls to the office. Avoid these clowns at all cost
