BINDMAN'S IN GATESHEAD
I used Bindman's in Gateshead recently for the sale of a family home. Excellent service from start to finish. Claire and her team went out of their way to make the process as smooth as it could be under some very trying circumstances. Highly recommend their services.

I have recently dealt with the Gateshead branch who were completing my purchase transaction. Claire Stanton was the case handler of my file and I cannot express enough how stress free she made this whole transaction feel, we had clear communication, updates were provided when necessary, we were made to feel at ease and everything was taken care of. Staff are very friendly and efficient and I can not recommend them enough. All in all a great experience.

This review relates to the Brandling Street Branch in Gateshead. (NE8 2BA) and relates to a "transaction" which ran from approx March to June 2018. (it has taken me a year to get over it !!!)

Company was recommended by our "selling" estate agent.

Having sold two previous properties over the the previous twenty odd years (using different solicitors I hasten to add), with very little communication and everything just going through as it should, I had no reason to expect the nightmare that I was launching myself into.

They lacked any professional tact and had to be chased continually, on the whole by slow responses if any at all.

One thing springs to mind is that they posted some important papers out to me on I believe the Friday before a Bank Holiday Monday. Having not received them by the Tuesday when I rang, they said they had been initially been delayed because some member of staff had been "off work" (holiday / illness ?) earlier in the week, but not to worry, they would e-mail me a copy ASAP. Why on earth could they not have been e-mailed in the first place !!! .....and I did not realise I was dealing with an individual as opposed to a company. Not wanting to sound sexist, but if the person in question was female and she had gone off on maternity leave would I have to wait months and months ?

In another instance, while ringing them up to chase up something I had e-mailed in but had no response to, I was asked if I had an e-mail address !!!!

When we first "signed up" with them, all papers / plans relative to the property we were selling were given to them. In due course, our buyer requested some information naturally via their solicitor then Bindmans who in turn requested the information from me. I pointed out that the required information was with them from day one, only to be told it was not. I asked (or should I say told) them to look again, which eventually brought the reply that they did not have (or more likely had lost) the relevant document. I insisted they look again, and surprise surprise they had the document.

The above only scratches the surface and I hope you can understand my frustration levels. Obviously, they couldn't as on one occasion I suggested (quietly and not shouting) that they should "get their finger out" only to be told that their was no need to be abusive !!!! God, could I have been abusive.... you bet.

In the middle of all the above going on, we were also purchasing a new property, and our "buying" solicitor (this time recommended by the builder) was absolutely superb and helped us along with dealing with Bindmans (at no extra charge) which was of course well outside their remit. A very professional company and a stark contrast with Bindmans.

I only rate Bindmans with one star as there is no facility to give none or minus stars.

Our property selling agent recommend Claire to us. Claire and her team help us to selling our old property and purchase new property. We mainly communicate through the email. They all replied promptly. Every stage was clearly informed us. Even one people on holiday, it won't affect the whole process, since there always someone work on the case from the team. Overall, we are happy with the service.

After a very positive experience with Bindman and Co I can highly recommend their services when selling a property. Andrew Daverson was professional and easy to contact throughout the whole process and the sale was stress free.

I cannot understand the negative reviews as my experience was excellent. Andrew Daverson kept us informed at every stage of the house selling process and was extremely positive and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this long established company.

Terrible stressful experience from start to finish. never deal with them again

Poor communication. The only time I got a call returned was after I complained to the Estate Agent about the lack of communication and difficulty I was having in speaking with their recommended solicitor. This was almost 2 weeks after submitting an offer for a property that we wanted to purchase. The call was then abrupt and began with, "I heard that you've put in a complaint against us." This was the first and only time that my "case worker" actually spoke with me. Much to be desired from this firm on their communication and people skills - bad way to run a business. Needless to say, I've got a new solicitor.

After deciding to move last year Claire and Callum worked on the sale of my old house and purchase of my new property. The provided excellent support and guidance throughout.
I would have no hesitation recommending Bindman & Co.

After 21 years of living in the same house we decided to sell and downsize with some trepidation, the estate agents recommended Bindman & Co to us and as we had no experience with solicitors since our last move so we trusted their guidance. We could not have chosen a better company.
Claire Stanton and Callum Swain were wonderful, dealing with our conveyance swiftly and professionally, correspondence was dealt with quickly and also any issues that arose were sorted straight away and as quickly as they were able.
We do not intend to move house again, but if ever we had to then we would have no hesitation in using Bindman & Co again.

Having decided to move after over 30 years it was a daunting prospect. Especially after the solicitor we used previously was arrogant and borderline rude to us. Bindman's was recommended to us by our estate agent. I was very pleasantly surprised by their 'can do' attitude. Claire Stanton, our solicitor was very helpful, informative and professional with a good dose of humour added in for good measure. She was ably assisted by Callum who was also very helpful. Calls and emails were answered swiftly and nothing was too much trouble.

If only the other solicitors in the chain had been as good it would have been a less stressful event.

I would certainly recommend them and use them again.

I had Callum Swain and Claire Stanton recently complete a property transaction for us. As we live in Australia but the property is in the UK there are always the difficulties of time difference and keeping emails and communication down to a reasonable manageable level.
Bindman's delivered on time and at the quoted price. We will be using them again in the future. Thanks to Callum and Claire. Highly recommended!

Happy with service received, did need to chase but was very keen for a quick completion. Any contact was responded to very quickly. Would recommend.

I have used Bindmans solicitors twice now and would not use anyone else. I felt at ease with the staff .Andrew Daverson whom dealt with my conveyancing was efficient and never cut corners.I feel this is a very trustworthy company and I would highly recommend them.

I had quite an unusual sale and a double purchase which had to be done within a tight timescale. The "C" Team, Claire, Cheryl and Callum were absolutely tremendous. They were professional and believe me at times their patience was tested by the buyer. They were communicative and they delivered exactly what they said they would. Reading other reviews amazes me as to why clients don't persist in their phone calls and emails to find out who has taken over when a member of staff goes on annual leave which everyone is entitled to, perhaps they don't get back to you immediately because they are busy and one man down. Sometimes estate agents, buyers solicitors, sellers solicitors hold things up and tend to blame others, when in fact the process is complicated and can at times be fraught !
Give these guys a chance......

I would give minus stars if I could, even the estate agents who have been in business for 25 years said that Bindman & Co are the worse solicitors they have ever had the misfortune to work with. Avoid like the plague. I dealt with Louise Yabsley, who also went on Holiday and nothing was done for 2 weeks, what a stressful experience.

I used Bindman & Co Solicitors for my purchase of a buy to let property which I almost lost on several occasions due to their neglect of my case. Claire Stanton was originally dealing with my case, but then went on holiday half way through which I was not made aware of - to make things worse, the Estate Agent informed me that hardly any work had been completed and the seller was going to pull out due to this (This was 6 weeks after my offer was accepted). I could never get through to them on the phone, they never returned phone calls. My case was passed around to multiple Agents at Bindman & Co solicitors who were providing me with conflicting information. The seller threatened to pull out a total of three times, over the course of the 14 weeks it took me to exchange contracts. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
