Please do your homework before doing business with Birch Gold Group! On 1/5/22 I purchased metals with Birch Gold for my Roth and Traditional IRA accounts with them. I was advised by James Collins to purchase mostly fixed mintage coins as the safest investment. When I received my first statement from Equity Trust the value reflected was significantly lower than what I had invested. I called to ask why the value of my account was so low but was assured by Mr. Collins that the value of my accounts were much higher than reflected, as that is only the melt price, and my coins were worth much more than that. In January of 2026, I requested my buyback values and was sick to my stomach when I learned that they won’t even pay spot prices at buyback and the offer was even lower than the values reflected in my Equity Trust account. This raised serious red flags with me and I decided to investigate further. What I learned is that I was overcharged significantly on both accounts at the time of purchase:
Roth: I paid a 94.49% premium, which equates to an overcharge of $30,139. Assuming normal premiums at the time of purchase, I should have been able to purchase an additional 1,102 ounces of silver.
Traditional: I paid a 57.4% premium, which equates to an overcharge of $6,053. Assuming normal premiums at the time of purchase, I should have been able to buy an additional 3oz of gold.
So between the two accounts I overcharged by $36,193, and explains the lower value reflected in my Equity Trust accounts from the outset. Using spot prices as of 1/26/26 and the amount of metals I should have been able to purchase at the time of initial investment, this equals an approximate difference of $141,012 from where I should be to where I am.
Silver: $114.09 x 1102 ounces = $125,712.18
Gold: $5095 x 3 ounces = $15,285
The excessive premiums robbed me of my true earning potential and without the high appreciation in the value of the metals during this time, would have left me way in the negative. Be aware that Birch Gold engages in predatory pricing and is not an upright company to do business with!

We take all concerns seriously, so when we learned about Mike R.’s statements, we contacted him immediately to address. During these discussions with Mike R., it became apparent that he is being influenced by a representative from a competing precious metals retailer acting as an imposter financial advisor. He is being instructed to submit complaints, publish negative reviews, and issue threats in return for a financial gain of $141,000 so then he can move his business to their company. Although Mike R.’s claims originate from information that has been intentionally distorted for financial incentive, we completed a comprehensive account review which confirmed his accusations are fiercely false.
Birch Gold Group’s operations are governed by a code of conduct that avoids unethical practices. Our compliance guidelines, business model, and transaction documentation are specifically designed to prevent the circumstances alleged by Mike R. Following a detailed review of his account, we confirmed that he has not suffered a loss and has realized gains on his investment. Birch Gold Group did not charge Mike R. the 57% or 94% that he is claiming. In fact, he was charged substantially less. The premium he is alleging that Birch Gold Group made goes against our company policy and is contractually impossible. The premium Birch Gold Group made was within the agreement he signed on January 5th, 2022. To confirm, pricing is communicated through a minimum of two independent methods prior to any purchase. A subsequent review of the account confirms that Mike R. completed the voice confirmation and provided his verbal approval.
If Mike R.'s concerns relate to the values reported by his IRA custodian, we are happy to reeducate him. IRA custodians report precious metals at spot price; however, physical precious metals carry value above spot/melt price. Individuals presenting themselves as precious metals experts, like the representative that Mike R. is speaking to, should understand how custodians report values and they have a responsibility to accurately educate investors on this distinction.
We continue to stand behind our practices and our commitment to care for Mike R. and any customer of ours. We encourage consumers to take appropriate precautions when interacting with individuals falsely claiming to be financial representatives of any sort. The above activity is predatory by the Gold Company pushing our customers to act in bad faith and is likely to result in criminal activity being conducted.

I invested my entire 401K with this company. I was so excited, because after my gold and silver purchases, gold and silver skyrocketed. After speaking with my new financial advisor and telling him about my investment, he informed me that my assets should be worth around $1.2M. When I asked BIRCH GOLD how much they would pay for my gold and silver they told me $786,000. Because of the premiums they charged me they cost $414.000 of my retirement. What should be the happiest times for me as I plan to retire, has turned into a nightmare. The reason I went with this company is because of the endorsements by Fox News, Ron Paul, Jordan Peterson, Steve Bannan. Why are they endorsing Birch Gold, who is stealing people’s retirement? Now, I find out that the owner of this company, Laith Alsarraf made his money in the adult entertainment business with Cybernet Ventures Inc. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THIEVES!!!!

We have remained in regular contact with Mr. Kearney since the filing of this review. During these discussions, Mr. Kearney indicated that he has been receiving guidance from an individual presenting themselves as a financial advisor who appears to be affiliated with another precious metals retailer. The information being provided suggests encouraging Mr. Kearney to seek an adjustment to the liquidation value of his account and, subsequently, to transfer those funds for purchase elsewhere. While this type of activity is concerning, we have nonetheless continued to review his concerns thoroughly and respond in good faith.
As an example, the United States Mint Website (www.usmint.org) sells 1oz Silver American Eagle Proof coins, which are currently priced at $178 per oz, which is nearly 100% above the current spot price. For this reason, understanding pricing is vital prior to any purchase. For our customers, we confirm pricing to our customers in at least three ways, two of which are relayed prior to a purchase being made, and the last pricing communication is the customer’s receipt. Our pricing is explained in detail in the Shipping and Transaction Agreement and requires signature before the transaction can finalize. We also confirm prices verbally before the transaction completes and we record the pricing with our customer’s acknowledgment before the transaction can complete.
Scammed - Precious Medal IRA
Scam. During a 401k rollover to precious medals IRA the company asserted that I should purchase twin maple coins and florin gold. They used deceptive advertising asserting that I was paying low premiums however upon inspection they lied in there agreement only to discover they were charging between 60-90% premium compared to spot price. They then asserted that these limited addition products would hold their value better than traditional bullion products. However when I asked to sell the products they explained they sell back to their supplier at wholesale thus resulting in a bid below spot. Thus they first lied about the actual premium being paid then lied about the stable value of the overpriced product they sold me. Unless you are looking for “rare” coins do not trust them. Look for companies that advertise their price compared to the real spot price and steer clear of this company at all cost! If you purchased from them look back at the actual cost. All I am saying is completely true so I hope this review from others being scammed by this company. I recommend looking up other reviews and news regarding the gold Ira grift and scams by companies such as this.

In a conversation with Mr. Covey, we learned that he is speaking with a representative at a competing precious metals retailer who is impersonating a financial advisor and is pushing a false narrative. This imposter advised Mr. Covey to file a BBB complaint, write negative reviews, and make threats in order to receive a financial gain of $200,000 and, in turn, to purchase through them. Regardless of this information, it was important to us to do our due diligence and thoroughly review Mr. Covey's concerns, account, and transaction history. The findings concluded that the statements he made in the BBB complaint are grossly false.
Integrity is a core principle at Birch Gold Group and guides every aspect of our business. The structure of our business model, the compliance protocols, and the documentation process required for all transactions make the false allegations raised by Mr. Covey impossible. For example, we communicate pricing through at least two independent methods prior to a customer making a purchase. It is disclosed in the Transaction Agreement that Mr. Covey signed, and it is also confirmed on a recorded line. We reviewed Mr. Covey’s voice confirmation on the recorded line and have verified Mr. Covey understood and consented to the pricing prior to finalizing the purchase. Notably, in his BBB complaint, Mr. Covey acknowledged both the Transaction Agreement, and that pricing was conveyed.
Based on our records, we can confirm that Mr. Covey was not charged the premiums he claims. Rather, the premiums were those he reviewed, signed, and agreed to before finalizing the purchase.
We firmly stand behind our practices and take great pride in our commitment to transparency and customer care. We want all our customers to prosper and urge them to be cautious of imposters masquerading as financial advisors, accountants, and other financial professionals.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!
FRAUD ALERT!! I was extremely overcharged for my gold and silver coins. In March of 2022 I moved my 401k into an IRA with Brich Gold. After speaking with Phillip Patrick, who seemed very informative and upfront with information they proceeded to cheat me. I was overcharged roughly 75% on my silver coins and over 50% on the gold coins. This is over industry standard which is roughly a 20% charge. The market has doubled since I initially invested and three years later after the price of gold doubling and the cost of silver nearly trippling, my account is worth less than my inital investment. If the market didn't go up as well as it did over the last few years I would actually be looking at a substantial loss in my investment, a roughly 30%-40% loss. I brought this issue up immediately after my initial investment my statment was showing a 35% loss, I spoke with a "Jeremy" who became quite irate with me because I was loudly asking why my account was showing 35% less than my initial investment. Jeremy told me that I was wrong, that I just didn't understand how the metal market worked. Long story short I was charged a premium of 61.29% above the spot price of gold when I should have paid only 10%, I was over charged 51.29%. I was charged 96.49% above the spot price of silver. Based on a 20% premium for silver I was overcharged 76.49%. THESE PEOPLE ARE WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHING, PRAYING ON INVESTORS. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE.

In the several conversations we had with Ms. Bancroft to address her concerns, it came to our attention that she is being coached by a representative at a competing precious metals retailer. They have advised her to file complaints, write reviews, and make threats in exchange for a financial gain of $310,000 so she can then purchase through them. Unfortunately, Ms. Bancroft’s concerns stem from information that has been deliberately manipulated for financial gain. Regardless, we took her concerns seriously and reviewed her account thoroughly and found that her accusations are grossly false.
Every aspect of Birch Gold Group’s operations is guided by integrity and transparency. Our business model, compliance requirements, and the transaction documentation processes prevent the circumstances alleged by Ms. Bancroft from occurring. After performing a thorough investigation into her account, we can confirm that she has not lost money and, in fact, has made gains on her investment. Additionally, we can confirm that the fees Birch Gold Group made is not the 50% to 75% that she is claiming but are in fact much lower and within the range disclosed in our Transaction Agreement that Ms. Bancroft signed. To confirm, Birch Gold Group communicates pricing at least two independent methods prior to a customer making a purchase. For example, we communicate pricing through the Transaction Agreement that Ms. Bancroft signed, and it is also reviewed and confirmed on a recorded line.
If part of Ms. Bancroft’s concerns stem from the values her custodian is reporting, we are happy to reeducate Ms. Bancroft. IRA custodians value metals at spot price, but physical precious metals have a value above spot/melt price. Those claiming to be experts in the precious metals industry, like the imposter Ms. Bancroft is being coached by, are well aware that this is how custodians value metals and have a moral obligation to accurately educate their customers.

New to Gold Investing, Not anymore
Just started my experience with Birch Gold & Equity Trust. I listen to the Radio show Clay Travis & Buck Sexton. They say we're a client of Birch Gold. So I made the call, I was skeptical, heard the pitch, I took 2 months to pull the trigger. I was warned by Birch Gold that my investment would not reflect the market and to stay invested for 5 years to see the true value of my investment. Went online a month later setup my Equity Trust Account. My investment of $87K is $59,398.35 as of 9/30/2025. I expected a decrease due to fees but a $29,601.65. I assumed it would take a little time to recoup the difference. Gold could hit $10K an oz and I would not recoup this. By the way gold was valued at the on 9/1/ 2025 was $3,448.43 an oz. as of today $4,226.54 a diff. of $778.11 an oz. BIG STATEMENT... Markets will fluctuate so be patient. This is not the market but BAD Business. First statement should be this... your money is this and here is the amount after fees is this amount - BIG DIFFERENCE. They would have NO ONE investing if they knew the truth. Shame on the RADIO TALK SHOWS, BIRCH GOLD, & EQUITY TRUST. There should be a law suit...
