I have been with Canary when it was a kickstarter company. I have had issues with their software and firmware upgrades but my recent experience has me wondering why I bother with Canary.
A policeman wanted to see if any of my cameras could I’d a car at a particular time on the day before. After I checked, I saw a vehicle in a video. I called to get a copy of MY Video from MY Camera and they denied it.
I’m trying to get some justice for one of my neighbors, not knowing even if this was a vehicle of the criminal. It was MY video. Their shoty software won’t let me download it so I asked my wife to video my replay of MY video.
Unforgivable plain and simple.

I did not receive the reminder email about my subscription service renewing, on the date it posted to my credit card I cancelled it and asked for a prorated refund for the time not used to which they would not do. All other companies I have used and cancelled a service they would refund the pre payment for the time not used. Now I see why this company had such bad ratings. Very bad company practices if you ask me.

One day about a month ago my canary camera stopped recording. They keep sending me the same email over and over again saying it is my WiFI speed. BS - as it worked for years with the same speed, and I haVe the best and highest speed Verizon FIOS has. Customer Service has done nothing but send the same emails over and over and over again. Useless, and no help whatsoever. It's NOT MY WIFI.
PS: I've had a Canary system for ten years.

FYI. I find the response from Canary hilarious on this email. Once again they fail to share how many times they talked to me and promised a fix.
I had been a Canary subscriber for over 8 years; premium. The Customer Service was always hard to reach but the last straw was after my dog died and I wanted to retrieve my videos to download for safekeeping, I got no help that resolved the issue. I had several email exchanges which were worthless. I finally had a great customer service call and he promised to be back to me in two days with a solution...NOTHING, I had resubscribed premium to get at the videos and after a month of no help, requited my refund..NOTHING. Find a company that will take of you. I had good experience with the camera, terrible customer service.

Canary have made a further detrimental change. The app spontaneously links to advertising and you cannot return to the camera view as the exit button is hidden.
This is fundamentally stupid, as it also means that you're unable to respond to any alerts by checking the camera in a timely way.
This latest change renders the camera useless.
A mindless change that will backfire.
Basically, don't buy these cameras unless you're willing to pay the annual subscription.

these camaras are total trash i bought six for my house in lansdale, not only did they reneg on their free services... THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR EACH DEVICE, then they charged me even when I cancelled and customer service is non existent, i threw the over six hundred dollars worth of equipment in the trash and got ring, way cheaper way better service

I gave it 2 stars because the equipment is satisfactory and performs well. The low rating is due to its customer service, they suck you in with a low monthly rate then increase it without notice. If you try it, set a tickler on your calendar a week out to cancel it or you'll be stuck... like the rest of us! I have a standing order to cancel when this year at full high pricing ends.

Forgot to cancel auto renewal (about 6 hours late) and they refuse to give a refund for the next year of service I have now paid for but will not use. They put the blame fully on their customers…as we should know the exact moment renewals will happen for their service. They insist that a notice was sent, however between all of the promotional emails, etc., I am not locating the notice in my inbox. This company claims that they value their customer, but the rigid cancellation and refund policy, along with sub-par, copy and paste responses reinforce the fact that their customers are just ways to make a quick buck. Please steer clear of this company if you don’t want to be taken advantage of by an unethical organization. Sounds like they are about to go under, anyway, so it may not be an issue too much longer. Transitioning to a competitor’s system with excellent customer service, reviews and ethics.

I bought their cameras etc with the statement that you can look at the previous 24 hours without any subscription but this has since been withdrawn and you have to pay per camera for any recording time. This is not what I signed up for and to have just live monitoring is a waste of time.
The company is difficult to talk to and will take money without authorisation. I had to use my credit card to reclaim my money and ban their transactions as all refunds and never authorised.

I had service for a couple years and all of a sudden they added a second location and billed me three times? Makes no sense. The company only has an AI chatbot to try and resolve. Stay away from this company they steal your money and have no customer service.

Vor genau einem Jahr hatte ich mein Abonnement stornieren müssen, da die Kamera bei mir nicht zu installieren war. Ich habe meine Nerven dabei gelassen und nach 1 Monat mein Geld mühsam zurückerstattet bekommen.
Ich habe den ganzen widerlichen Schriftverkehr aufgehoben, weil ich ahnte, was nun eingetroffen ist.
Sie schrieben mir HEUTE, ich solle darauf achten, dass jetzt demnächst wieder die Rechnung für das Abonnement kommen würde.
Das ist die schlimmste Firma, mit der ich je zu tun hatte.
Ich habe sie an meinen Fall erinnert und werde nur noch anwaltlich reagieren.
Finger weg von dieser Firma.

My Camera stopped working, when I explained they said the camera was faulty so i asked for a refund on the $99.99 subscription that started in September and it is now now only December. They would not give me a refund when it is their system at fault. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND DO NOT USE THEM, LOOK AT THE REViEWS PEOPLE!

Nach der Umstellung hat erstmal alles ohne Probleme mit der neuen Canary App funktioniert. Seit heute habe ich trz monatlicher Zahlung keinen Premiumugriff mehr und soll mir das doppelt so teure premium Abo kaufen. Die letzten Jahre war ich zufrieden und hatte nie Probleme. Dann aus heiterem Himmel das. Jetzt muss ich wohl leider meine Meinung ändern und zugeben, dass hier wohl üble abzocke betrieben wird von der ich die letzten 6 Jahre verschont geblieben bin..

Had constant problems with connectivity and there devices... I have 3 ... the pro the view and the flex ... since doing firmware update recently they no longer work ... now customer services doing trouble shooting with me which has not remedied anything. Looks like I'm going to be another victim.just like others complaints I've read on here... and I've Still paid subscription... how they have even got the front to even charge subscription is beyond me ...

Cowboys. They get you to sign up to the direct debit and will take advantage of the fact that there is an automated system in place. They refuse to provide any refunds. Even if you reach out to them on the day of the debit. Most subscription services offer immediate refund if you cancel the service within 3-4 days of being debited. These guys are cowboys. Steer clear!!!!

Stopped working a couple of months ago and customer service has been useless. Used to be Ok, now is just appalling. Don’t bother.
Their reply is great. I have contacted customer support loads and apart from asking the serial number of the devices, nothing happens.

I didn’t remember my renewal was coming up in August as I have many emails and take care of a disabled sister and an elderly parent. Canary automatically renewed at a premium for an annual fee. I always have paid monthly and that is the way I would like to continue. But on the phone with customer service twice already, they refuse to refund the annual fee And said next year I can do monthly fees. This is not the way I want to continue using Canary. I’ll give you guys one last chance to make this right.

Haven’t used my canary for years. Decided to get it up and running.
I don’t believe premium is a bad thing that’s fine. But I have never seen ads within a reputable app before.
Every time you view the camera and then come out an ad is played and it’s impossible sometimes to actually close it. The triangle they say isn’t there in my phone at least.
This is just a terrible terrible idea which will cause many customers to leave .
Again I have never seen an app like this contains ads. This is forcing people to buy premium because the app is essentially unusable as it is. This leaves a very sour taste in your mouth when you fork out money to buy the camera. I would say this is rather unethical as the app is next to useless now. if someone needs to quickly access the camera due to some type of emergency the ads are going to stop this and this is very bad.
