The absolute worst website on the planet, booked flights as per normal website. Didn't receive any ticket however email came saying tickets will be issued within 48hrs. Get a phone call the next day saying the tickets could not be issued as they were sold out and that I could go on a wait list. I asked how long the wait list is and was advised upto 60 days.. WTF...
I then looked at other site and found the same flights I booked on this site not only available but cheaper. Unfortunately as I committed to this useless website and proceeded to find other options within their site. I changed my itinerary and they offered me a new itinerary which they promised could be confirmed and ticketed and I stupidly agreed to them yet again.. to date still no tickets and down almost $12,000

I purchased a ticket on their website for $1800 and then they emailed me saying my flight is pending and I need to wait 38 hours
12 hours later they emailed me saying they need another $1300 to secure my booking.
Now I have no money and no ticket and I am a single full time mum

Their website is misleading — they do not have a premises in South Australia. When you call them, they avoid giving a straight answer about it. When I asked about hidden charges, they explained that you pay the advertised fare upfront, and then they take up to 48 hours to “confirm” whether they can actually secure the flight at that price. If not, you’re told to either pay the extra or request a refund. They would not tell me how long a refund actually takes.

Within 48hrs they've removed the Adelaide address from their website, furthermore the Australian ABN has been removed & the .com.au is no longer available, only the.com & UK vat #. They have changed the "visit us @" message from Adelaide to we also entertain your presence in our office located at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, however, no record of them there. Their registered entity of EMEIA Travel Mart LTD is London. They have also removed the cheapflyshop.co.uk. They aren't ATOL or ABTA registered either.

Business Class booking and no access to the Plaza Premium Lounge in Rome. I wonder how it will be in Abu Dabi. Do your homework properly, please! People pay for a service and I even paid more than $ 500 on my return ticket. I believe people should deserve the supervisor title.before acting as such.

Only a personal reference number was provided, with no ticket numbers issued at the time of payment. After completing the booking, I was told there is a 48-hour confirmation window, yet there is still no clear confirmation, no ticket issuance, and no guaranteed timeframe for completion.
Subsequently, I was informed that only one sector is confirmed, while the remaining sector may take 7 days or more—or may not be confirmed at all—without any clear commitment, transparency, or accountability.
This critical information was not disclosed upfront before payment. Instead, conditions and uncertainties were introduced only after money was taken, which is extremely misleading.
The lack of transparency, unclear confirmation process, and shifting timelines raise serious concerns about the reliability of this booking platform. The entire process feels highly questionable and not what you would expect from a legitimate flight booking service.
I strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before using this portal and to ensure full ticket confirmation before making any payment.

It sounds like you’ve run into a "phantom booking" or delayed ticketing issue, which is a common (and frustrating) tactic used by some budget Third-Party Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).
The "Reference Number" is Internal: The first code you received is likely just their own internal database ID, not the airline’s PNR (Passenger Name Record). Until they actually pay the airline for your seat, the airline has no record of you.
Manual Fulfillment: As you suspected, many low-cost sites wait for a "ticketing window" where they try to snag the seat at a lower consolidator rate manually. If the price jumps before they hit "buy," they often cancel your order and refund you.
No luggage included mostly and not very clear while booking (beware of this bait. Its not very clearly mentioned unless you dig for it)
