Our Limited Warranty

Sunglasses (Non-RX Products)

For any sunglasses (non-prescription) purchased on or after November 3, 2022 that experience a manufacturing defect* in materials or workmanship within two (2) years from date of purchase, we will repair or replace them (with an identical or reasonably equivalent style at our option) at no cost to you. You will need a proof of purchase to submit a warranty claim for manufacturing defects. After two (2) years or for damage to your sunglasses not caused by a manufacturing defect*, we’re happy to service you with a separate Repair and Replacement Program. This limited warranty is non-transferable and may only be exercised by the original purchaser, unless local law in your jurisdiction requires the transferability of this warranty. This limited warranty gives you specific rights. You may have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.

Unsatisfied customer

I received a pair of Costa sunglasses as a gift and have had them for less than two years. Unfortunately, they are already falling apart—the rubber on the arms is coming off, and the nose piece is as well. This is clearly not normal wear and tear.

What’s even more frustrating is that Costa refuses to fix them because I don’t have a receipt. Who gets a receipt when something is a gift, and who keeps a receipt for over a year? For the price you pay, you would expect better quality and customer service.

This experience has been very disappointing and unprofessional in my opinion. When customers spend this kind of money, the company should stand behind their product.

We will not be purchasing from Costa again. There are plenty of other great options out there like Oakley and Ray-Ban that offer both quality products and better customer support.
If I could write you a zero that’s what you would get

They now sell junk

They now sell junk, flimsy sunglasses for more money. My nose piece fell off both pairs in less than 3 years. And they are only used for fishing, not daily usage. I will absolutely never buy another pair. Typical corporate greed ruined a legendary company.

This trash bag company should be ashamed of…

This trash bag company should be ashamed of themselves. I paid over $200 for a pair of sunglasses and after 8 months of moderate and infrequent use (I have a pair of Ray Ban's and Maui Jim's also) the lenses were popping out of the frame.
I sent in a request to pay for a replacement pair and they tried to make me jump through hoops to send them additional photos which I did. Only to have them tell me I didn't provide them the additional photos they needed which I 100% did.

It seemed like their "move" is to make you give up which is the easiest way to decline sending a replacement pair (at a cost). Or else they can just give you a hard no and tell you that they closed your case.

Keep your $200 and know you lost my business forever.

Terrible company

Terrible company, terrible customer service. They don't stand behind their warranty, at all. Buy something else.

Crappy Made product

Bought a new pair of glasses , in less than 2 weeks both lens cracked where the attached to the frame. No damage was done to the glasses . Warranty dept denied the claim, said they no longer carry the product, nore make it and cant parts. They wont refund , but will discount another pair . They quit making because they know it was a faulty product .
To be known, you already looked into it, thats why my crappie review of your crappy product and now your canned response . You dont back your product anymore !

I've been buying Costa shades in…

I've been buying Costa shades in Florida for 10 plus years. In the past, I've had issues with them, whether it be a defect or lens replacement, the customer service was great. Not any longer. I bought a new pair last year, I got a gnarly scratch in the worst spot. I tried to call, I got put to so many automated messages I gave up. I then corresponded through email, they told me they couldn't do anything for me. It is within 1 year of purchase, I sent a copy of my receipt and they denied it. This company's customer service completely sucks now. DO NOT waste your $$$ or time with these rejects

Outstanding sunglasses for outdoor adventures

I recently bought a pair of Costa sunglasses for fishing trips and they’ve been fantastic. The lens clarity is exceptional, especially with the polarised technology – it really cuts through glare on the water. They feel sturdy and well-made, and I can tell they’re built to last. Definitely worth the investment if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

No phone support

I tried to contact costa about purchasing lens for my existing costa frames because my prescription has changed. It’s impossible to talk to anyone.im 59 years old and not very tech savvy .the “chat” method is a total joke

Crap company

I purchased a pair of sunglasses many years ago when the company offered a "lifetime warranty." They needed repair and I contacted the company to make a warranty claim. They would not stand behind their product and offered me a pair for 25% off on a new pair. I asked why they were not standing behind their warranty at which time they became rude and condescending. Save your money and go with a company that actually stands behind their warranty.

Since Costa has been bought out by…

Since Costa has been bought out by Luxottica, their customer service and quality has gone downhill. The old company used to cover any small or large issue. Now they don’t cover Jack. It’s really a shame because my family and I have used Costa for over a decade and to see such a good quality product. Go downhill is really so disheartening. I won’t buy another product for them. I will be sticking with MJ or Smith from now on.

I had a cracked frame and they wanted to give me a discount code instead of a new one. I had an issue with my lens on brand new glasses. They issued me a discount code to buy a different pair without replacing the part. I had an issue with the hinges on a pair and they offered me a discount code to buy a new pair. Instead of fixing the issue of the previous classes they just want to get more money out of you for a new product. And after seeing the quality of their newer products, I would steer clear.

Why am I spening 300$ on glasses that…

Why am I spening 300$ on glasses that nose pads only last barely a year and now to find out can't even replace them or get them fixed cause even costa doesn't even make them or just won't sell to public. Now I gotta spend another 270$ on some bajio sunglasses cause atleast there are cheaper and will atleast fix the problem not like these fools.

Not the same anymore, warranty is worthless

I have worn Costa sunglasses for the past 20 years. I had a couple of warranty related issues in the past that were promptly resolved. I purchased a pair of Coasta sunglasses last year for my wife. One of the legs recently broke and I submitted a warranty claim. I was told it was not warranty because that’s deemed wear and tear, not manufacturing issue. This is a radical departure from what they used to be, I will find a new manufacturer of sunglasses for me and my wife in the future, a wasted $300 for a product that they no longer stand behind.

I bought lifetime Costa sunglasses…

I bought lifetime Costa sunglasses approximately 20 years ago. About 3 years ago I sent them to Costa to be repaired or replaced because the rubber inserts on the frame were in bad shape. They sent me new sunglasses which were a newer model. Well now my new pair of sunglasses also are in need of rubber replacement however, Costa no longer has parts for my sunglasses. Since Costa no longer has a lifetime policy they tell me they will offer a 50% discount for my next purchase. Really! I mentioned these were a replacement for the original pair of Costa, there response was to provide the original receipt from 20 years ago. I let them know they have a record of my return 3 years ago. They often offer 50% or more off during sales. My advise is to buy from another company with better warranty service and honest practices.

Sunglass frame breaks …

I have been a Costa Sunglass customer for about 5 years now but I will not be purchasing anymore based on the lack of durability of their frames. I have had two pair of their sunglasses break right in the middle of the bridge when just putting the glasses on. Since their warranty program doesn’t cover but a few years now this means shell out another couple of hundred dollars for a new pair. Nope not going to spend anymore of my money of replacements.

Costa customer service review

I bought my Costa sunglasses on 7/9/24. About a month ago, my plastic frame broke on one side. About two days ago, the plastic on the other side broke and the frame was only being held together by the rubber strip. I submitted a warranty claim yesterday with pictures which was denied. These sunglasses are valued at $315, however I spent a little less through ID.ME as I received a first responder discount. I think most people would expect that a $315 pair of sunglasses would last at least 2 years. After my claim was denied, I attempted to contact Costa’s customer service which was extremely difficult because they only would allow me to chat with their AI assistant. After calling the number and having to lie and say that I was not calling from a mobile device (I was), I was put on hold for about 15 minutes. After that, someone named Ian answered and I explained my issue. I then gave him my service request number from my warranty claim and all he would tell me was that the warranty team had already made their decision. I explained that I was always extremely careful with my sunglasses and that I would expect that since they were valued at such a high price, that they would hold their value and not break so easily. He rudely said that the breaking from both frames was my fault and not the fault of the company. I then asked to speak to his manager and he said that the matter did not require a manager and that there was nothing else that needed to be done. I asked for a manager again and he told me that he wouldn’t allow me to speak to one. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON COSTA! They will not cover your warranty claim!

You can't buy replacement lenses . I got sent an email that I can edit my review. Why would I do that if nothing has changed. And it asks for a order number. I'm pretty sure it's AI that's replying to these emails because it goes nowhere.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

What I wrote to their "customer service":
Hello,

Not that it matters to your company, but I'm going to have my say on this anyway. I purchased a pair of your Costa Reefton sunglasses with glass lenses at full price (around $300) from a store in Southern Utah less than two years ago. The frame ended up snapping at the top near the nose bridge, so I followed the warranty procedure, the claim was denied to being covered under warranty, but I was offered to buy another pair at approximately half price, so I did just that. Only a few months later, that second pair, the frame had snapped AGAIN in the same spot. I went ahead and filed the claim procedure again only to have it denied again, and presented an offer to purchase at around half price again.

Why would anyone in their right mind throw money at a product and company with such little regard for their customers? Your corporate firewall (automated AI, etc) from customer communication is offensive, and your company has demonstrated abysmal integrity with regard to a proclaimed warranty. This experience prompted me to an Internet search on your reviews, which first took me to the BBB site. Although Costa/Luxottica is not a member, there are still around 60 complaints similar to my own experience regarding the NON-honoring of warranty. Then I went to the Costa Facebook page where every company post looks like a cringe corporate commercial ad, and under each one, indications of a number of comments, but when attempting to view those comments, they have been blocked from view by your social media team. I can only imagine why. Upon searching Costa sunglasses on Facebook, there are many a good rant posted by previous customers about your company's dishonoring warranty and how product quality has diminished since the original owners have sold.

I may be only one person, but I will do all I can to help others avoid the mistake of purchasing your product. I am nearly a level 7 Google reviewer geek, and now this also motivates me to jump on other relevant apps and sites to discredit your company's proclaimed warranty. Do not bother to attempt to have me provide details, dates, case numbers and receipts of my transactions with Costa, you've already wasted enough of my time and money.

The ONLY way to make this right is to honor your supposed warranty of your product. Look it up yourself if you care, it's the same email I'm using to write this final correspondence.

To the person reading this - have a great day, and I hope your employment experience far exceeds that of your customers!

from good quality glasses to horrible customer service

I have been buying costa sunglasses for quite some time. I will never buy another pair. Their customer service has gone down the toilet . Their warranty process is over complicated for customers. They send you the wrong pair of sunglasses and do not seem to care they made a mistake that cost you. David L Rook

Bad warranty claim

I want to start by saying that I have enjoyed your products since I was a kid. I have sensitive eyes, so I iave worn them from junior high into my late 30. I always purchased the zanes, and that was my go to for about 10 years and maybe 3 pairs or so. I recently found out you quit making them so I tediously scoured the new products to find the right ones, and I thought I landed on the perfect ones with the fantail series. With my narrow face they fit perfect and hugged to me. At some point something came loose on the ear piece and when it opens around my head it is loose, and when I jog or do any activities, they fall down to the end of my nose. I sent Ina. Request and was immediately told yall couldn't help. It is a crummy feeling when you feel like you have supported a company for over 20 years, to have them say sorry we can't help, because I was trying a new series. I won't lie if I can't get some kid of resolution, I plan to find a new company to move forward with.
