Great sunglasses
Great sunglasses, great customer service and GREAT COMPANY. I have purchased two pair of sunglasses and they are amazing! Love the clarity and anti glare (Tuna Alley) lenses. Customer service is very responsive and have resolved a minor question I had before purchasing my first pair. Highly recommend Costa!!

Grand Catalina
I purchased a pair of Grand Catalinas a few months ago and love them, great frame and glass. The main reason for purchasing them was the removable side shields, I lost one to a wave while fishing and there is no way to purchase replacements. I am told by Costa that shipping the glasses in for "repair" is the only way and will take weeks. Great glasses, pretty poor "repair" program.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I placed an order in the evening EST, caught an error in the shipping after purchasing and went to contact support immediately. There is no phone number or email to contact listed on the US site and the chat feature is only available 9:00am-4:30pm EST. I received an email that there would be a delay in shipping which initially was a relief, but come to find out that was false and they had shipped the order overnight. I was on the chat at 9:05am EST, was told there is only an hour of time between when you place an order and Costa can modify the delivery address, but they could cancel it. I then received an email saying the cannot cancel the order because it already shipped so try the post office. Essentially glasses will be delivered to an address that I no longer reside at and I will have paid for them. I will now have to go through the credit card to file a dispute to get any funds back. Terrible experience. Don’t make an order after 4:30pm and expect to get any help the following morning when you can reach someone, you will also be screwed.

I’ve purchased a pair of sunglasses in March and now it’s September the lenses are cracked and the nose rubber protectors have fallen off. I wasted my time filling out a warranty request because they said it was my fault, but when I went to put my glasses on, there was a hairline crack in the right corner of my right lens, and one of the nose pieces fell off and then a few days later, the other one fell off they said it was my fault and I could purchase the products to fix my glasses. I’ve been a loyal customer for years because they always back their product but now I will be changing to a different company from now on for my sunglass Wear.

Not worth the price!
Good sunglasses, but not for the price and no warranty. They will fall apart after a few years. I have the Tuna Ally model, and the rubber separated from the frame. No warranty under new ownership. I also had another pair with the plastic lenses, and the material separated between lenses after just 6 months.
Edit: I did contact the warranty department in 2019 about the lenses - and the sunglasses were replaced quickly and efficiently. The customer service was excellent. No receipt required! Awesome.
I contacted the warranty department this year (2025) to see if they would fix the Tuna Ally after the frames fell apart, and they said they would not accept the warranty claim without "Proof of Purchase". The glasses were a gift and I don't have a receipt. They will not honor the "lifetime warranty" as advertised when the product was originally purchased.
This experience is extremely unfortunate, and appears to reflect the new direction EssilorLuxottica is taking the Costa Del Mar brand. I will never buy sunglasses from this brand or it's affiliates ever again.

Extremely Fragile Frame
After my previous (Bolle) sunglasses had worn out to the point of requiring replacement, lasting me ~10 years and countless wilderness trips from skiing to fishing, to hiking in remote mountain tops, I decided to purchase a pair of Costa glasses on recommendation from someone who had very good experience with their 'Tuna Alley' model they used as a fishing guide. The Reefton Pro model I purchased was quite expensive, and I was hoping they would be at least comparable to the performance and durability of my previous Bolle glasses, however I would have accepted the loss if I were to damage them during a wilderness excursion as there are practical limits to any manufactured product durability.
To their credit the lens is very good, however the frame appears to have all the durability of a bone china teacup. Approximately 6 months of using them for little more than driving or urban usage, never actually taking them into any harsh environment, I dropped them from waist height to the floor at the checkout of a store, which caused the frame to crack in two. 'no problem' I thought, Costa is a very reputable company with a high end product, I am sure they will stand behind their product and take care of their customers. After going through their warranty process I was pretty shocked to discover that they did not consider this issue to be covered under warranty. They offered a discount on a replacement pair, but that really doesn't leave me satisfied as the product clearly does not function as the impression I was given by their marketing and reputation. If sunglasses this fragile are not expected to handle a waist height drop then they should come with a clear warning to better set customer expectation. They were not stepped on or abused or dropped from an extraordinary height, to be clear I would have accepted if the frame had failed from this type of damage, but they simply got dropped from waist height. Reading other reviews online this seems to be a common theme.
The lenses are great, but I would highly recommend anyone that doesn't want to put more care into managing their sunglasses than a new-born infant to avoid this product.

I bought these from sunglass hut due to the warranty offered. Sunglasses snapped the frame while wearing them. Glasses are immaculate in every way. This is not user abuse, and the warranty is to buy another pair at half price off. Like I want to buy another pair.

Glasses fell apart, warrantee fraud
Glasses fell into the two year warrantee. The frames became delaminated and broke at the thinest part of the frame. I sent in proof of purchase and all requested photos (twice), their response was that it was not covered under the warrantee. When I called they gave me some guy in india and promptly sent me to a survey and hung up on me.
Be Aware that these glasses are assembled in Florida with chinese frames. For close to $300 I expect better. Do not buy these...cheaply made and warantee is a fraud. Smith glasses are quality glasses made in Italy! USA is having a hard time getting out of its own way!
As you can see from the “canned “ response… they really don’t give a s**t… if they did they would respond to the denied claim they have on file…. Do Not Buy Costa sunglasses if you want an actual warranty or customer support

My husband loves these glasses, but NO MORE !
My husband loves these glasses , but they always fall apart. The bridge of the nose and down the sides. We send them in and they do replace them , but with rebuilt glasses and the same issue appears every time. This last time we sent in the photos and the replacement was rejected. They did give a 50% off a purchase and I have ordered the same glasses for him, but this will be the last time for me . I just bought him the silver frame pair the other day too, that will be the last of the Mohicans !

Cheap materials, awful warranty
I have had two pairs of Costas that I attempted to warranty in the last year. One the rubber support molding literally degraded off of and another I was wiping the lense to clean it and the lense broke out of the frame. Both were classified as out of warranty, although one was less that 9 months old. Both were 300 dollar pairs of sunglasses. They also changed to a two year warranty and clearly dont even stand behind that. I have worn Costas for 15 years now, but no longer. I will spend my money elsewhere rather than buy the cheaply made garbage.

Purchased a pair of Reeftons for my son. The side frame pulled out of the molded frame. They will not warranty them. This is definitely a manufacturers issue and is ridiculous they would not cover. 4th pair and will no longer buy them. The warranty is not hat they say.

This has got to be the worst warranty
This has got to be the worst warranty you can get for sunglasses. I purchased a pair of the Rincon sunglasses with glass lens in March of 2025 and then the glass broke on them 5 months later. Went to their website to request service for it and they said it was out of warrant already and would not stand behind their flaws. Its not right that I should have to spend more on something that costs a lot already.

Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware: The revered warranty of this company has been updated in recent years. I purchased a pair of Reefton Pros less than a year ago, last week the frame snapped under what I would consider normal use circumstances. Costa's new warranty program will not cover anything outside of a very vague "manufacturing defect". I have purchased at least 10 pairs of Costa's in my life, and never had any issues. These will be the last pair though, if anyone can recommend an alternative with a better warranty program I would appreciate it!
UPDATE after response from Costa: Your 50% off coupon was not a solution. I just picked up a pair of Bajio Sunglasses and they are great! They gave me a discount and the shop I purchased them from is offering to fix my costas free of cost. Anyone that is looking for an alternative must check them out! They offer the warranty you used to expect from Costa and the lens are much better!

Ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses from their website. Lens had a chip in it and some damage on the frame - lens was likely chipped inserting into frame during manufacturing. Opened a service request on the day they arrived. Service request immediately closed telling me to go to the dealer. I bought them from their website!?

No product support
The only reason I ordered another pair was because they wouldn't repair any of my old pair even if I paid to have them repaired. I have a pair that are 12 years old and another that is 7 years old and both have been great but need repair. Hopefully, parts are made available for the new pair.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience ! Sunglasses stay in my truck blacked out tint , put them on one day and the frame fell apart . Tried to warranty them they refused to warranty saying its not a defect . The frames always break very cheap product do not waste your money buy Oakley or something obviously better Quality. And I did call and had it looked into still refused to warranty the defective glasses . The sun dried out the frames and they fell apart , that's cheap product .

Great lenses and frames
Great lenses and frames. BEWARE of their replacement lenses. I ordered two replacements and one of them was very cloudy - makes me think there's no quality inspection process.
Also their customer service through emails is terrible. Their email system does not recognize reply emails - but it seems you can only send new emails, as every old email thread gets bounced back. Annoying if you ever have a question or problem later on.

Costa no longer stands behind there…
Costa no longer stands behind there products and does not honor the lifetime warranty like they have in the past.
I have been a loyal Costa Del Mar customer for well over a decade, I have well over 10 pair. My favorite frames are the Tuna Alley's l. I've had several issues with the rubber pieces coming off and have sent these in for repair in the past. This issue has occurred on multiple pair of sunglasses so it's clearly related to defective material or workmanship. The glasses I purchased were purchased when they had the lifetime warranty. Apparently Costa changed the warranty and repair process in 2022 and only provide a 2 year warranty. Costa no longer stand behind their products and will not honor the lifetime warranty.
I recently bought another pair of Costa Tuna Alley's so I could send my other 2 pair in for repair but Costa will not repair these even though they have in the past. All Costa want's to do is give a 50% off coupon instead of repairing the glasses. Again, I have numerous pair for different activities, driving, fishing, and I'm not giving to give them even more of my money when they no longer stand behind there products.
I was the biggest Costa fan until they stopped standing behind there products. I will be returning the glasses I most recently purchased.
