I wanted to visit Costa Rica as an eco-tourist in the summer of 2015. I spoke no Spanish, and I did not want that to cause big problems while on vacation. Costa Rica Expeditions was recommended to me, and I contacted them to ease the way. I told them where I wanted to visit, and asked that (a) they take care of all transportation, from when I flew in to San Jose till I flew out some days later, also (b) that they recommend lodging accommodations, and (c) other activities that might interest me, such as hikes and zip-lining.The trip they planned and oversaw for me went flawlessly. CRE even contacted my hotels the day before I was to move on to the next location, asking the hotel to remind me I was to be picked up by CRE personnel the next day at a specified time for the next bit of travel. I was thoroughly pleased with my experiences with CRE and had no complaints at all.

We booked every bit of our trip with Costa Rica Expeditions. Everything went perfectly -- the transports were, in particular, helpful to have worked out beforehand. For those who aren't do it yourself'ers, these guys are a good choice.

Costa Rica Expeditions is an excellent tour company. They custom built a trip for myself, daughter and granddaughter. From the moment we got off the plane to the moment we boarded they were right there. The accommodations were great, the transfers always comfortable, and the guides excellent. It was a pleasure and when we go back to Costa Rica I will only go with this company.

They completely customized our itinerary to include exactly what we wanted and the 2 places we stayed, Tortuga Lodge and Si Como No, were both wonderful although they were very different experiences. We had all the convenience of a tour group arranged program, without a huge group of people or forced stops at tourist attractions that don't appeal to us. The transfer between locations was smooth and we got a drive through southern Costa RIca that was just great without being on a tour bus or large van. Additionally the night we spent in San Jose upon our arrival was lovely, a small boutique hotel within walking distance of a Starbucks. Who could ask for anything more than a quiet place to relax after a long trip through multiple airports?

We thought it was excellent. We stayed in great lodges and had great adventures.

Everything was as promised. No bumps in the road. Had a fantastic time!

We had a great trip with prompt service and great guides / drivers. Everyone was kind courteous and went the extra mile. Accommodations were all great and the meals were also very good. We got to see the central, west and east coasts and all connections to places were arranged and on time. The Tortugero Lodge was great!

While our experience was several years ago, we would highly recommend Costa Rica Expeditions. They made our trip a wonderful experience. Their lodges were first rate and all staff members at the lodges and drivers who drove us were helpful, friendly and professional. We plan to visit again in the near future and would think of using no other tour company. I, my parents (80 & 76 years old at the time), and my brother and sister-in-law took a 10 day ecotourism trip with Costa Rica Expeditions. My parents had been to Costa Rica once, a few years before. We expected it to be fun, but it way beyond fun. It was PERFECT! They helped us plan it (requiring much patience on their part) and gave us the best ever guide and driver. We felt like we were very respected members of their family.

These guys are top notch and first rate. They are well organized, knowledge and fun to be with. They really know the area, the plant life and the wildlife in Costa Rica. We had a great time on our trip that they put together for us.
