The internal system they use in adjacent with the CITB test centre is an absolute joke , pure shambles to say the least . Nothing works , test id details , registration number , certificate numbers ,... Toon meer

Truly the worst company I've ever dealt…

Truly the worst company I've ever dealt with, they are so unhelpful it so frustrating and then when you frustrated the just terminate the call.

The problem is these are the only company you can get CSCS cards through and they know this so why would they need to be polite and professional.

Very poor

Very poor. The online application is not that straightforward and does not give very good guidance on what you need. Once my app was in, I had a confirmation email then nothing else. I contacted them after a delay of several weeks. I contacted them via a contact link on their website. Then I after two days get a reply saying I had to give further details - why didn't they ask for this information in the first place? Another wait of several days. Then they email me saying they have not only not processed my application bu have lost the records and I have to reapply again! Pathetic

Can I not give a zero star rating?
The curtain and blind installation trade is now not covered by the scheme but CSCS 'customer service' can not advise us on how to gain a card to present on site even though our operatives have paid for and passed the Health, Safety & Environmental test.
Each time we email CSCS 'customer service' a different person replies back with 'our partner card scheme' offer a card for our profession - they do not. Because 'Curtain Walling' and 'Installer of Windows and Doors' has the words 'Curtain' and 'Window' in the title, they presume that extends to our trade - it does not.
No matter how many times we remind them of such we receive the same robotic reply from the 'customer services' team.
We've gone round and round in circles for so long now I'm starting to feel a little dizzy. The 'customer services' team, I'm sure, are lovely individuals but their knowledge and feedback on our particular predicament is appalling and non-informative.

At this stage we cannot see the benefit of taking the CITB test for the rest of our operatives if we cannot have a card to back that up on a commercial build.

Abysmal

Abysmal, husband needs to renew his card, this is the third renewal so they should have all his details but they have moved to a new system and appear to be unable to bring forward documentation from the old one, now being asked to upload our documents, given he did his training in the 80s we cant find the paperwork but they wont accept his current card as proof that the paperwork has already been received by them years ago and now lost, you speak to a different person every time, they cant transfer you to the person you spoke to 10 minutes before so have to go through the whole thing again, everyone gives you information, there are no managers and complaints via the website are not answered..... if I could give a minus I would

Unfortunately a service that requires review

Unfortunately, quality control and training for customer facing employees needs to be monitored and adjusted accordingly. I came back from working in the middle east after 17 years and asked CSCS customer service which NEBOSH to do in order to get a CSCS card for my line of work. I was told the wrong information, and after completing the general NEBOSH, CSCS operatives test and then the CSCS Managers And Professionals test was informed i wasnt eligble for a card as its not a NEBOSH in construction which is what is required now! Thinking nothing more of it, i infomred the representative i was told by CSCS that was what i needed, i didnt register a complaint, until a safety manager for a major construction company informed me that i would be entitled to a card of some sorts. I procceded to register a complaint, and all i can say is thank god that my Iinitial and prevoius calls was recorded. As part of their investigation it was accepted i was given the wrong information and was given a red trainee card for 5 years. Subsequently i have completed a NEBOSH in construction, which is what i should of been told to do, and have now found out i need to resit the MAPS as it has run out. So another personal outlay in order to get the desired card i need in order to do my job on site. This seems to be a money making enterprise and nothing to do with making sure workers are aware of hazards on site.

This is nothing more than legalised theft

This is nothing more than legalised theft. A tier of useless employment is created, financed off the backs of real workers, that is in turn taxed by government. Stealth taxes. Trade papers count for nothing, they are ignored, and everyone must be judged by a lackey who cannot do the job himself. A pathetic "h&s" test is also mandatory, and is an insult to anyone with any form of intelligence. This extortion racket is absolutely no proof of a competent tradesman, and accidents caused through idiocy, will happen whether the perpetrator has a cscs card or not. A dumper driver killed a site worker a few days ago, both had all the relevant cards, a lot of good it did either of them, meanwhile the "h&s executive" will prepare their next post mortem. This extortion racket is actually losing the construction trade competent tradesmen, as some are calling it a day, and finding employment elsewhere, as they are unwilling to have their hard earned money "stolen" from them, to finance pen pushers, and pay stealth taxes. Safety is the responsibilty of the building firms, that can be dealt with adequately through their inductions.

It's nothing but a mere government…

It's nothing but a mere government money making scam. The worst is the health and safety course. It's a pile of nonsense where they insult your intelligence and if anybody gets a question wrong, they are called back in to change it meaning you can't fail, which defeats the whole purpose. The tutor taking the course had also never worked in construction in his life and was actually ex-police. You don't see me telling PC Plod how to properly arrest someone.

As for the touch screen itself, I did it 5 years ago before renewing it yesterday. Nothing had changed from 5 years that was significant enough to warrant having to sit the test again.

Overall it cost me £160 for the course, £32 for the touch screen test and now it will cost an additional £36 to buy a card that probably costs less than a quid to manufacture. This is without mentioning the 2 days pay that I lost and the £30 I spent on travel due to there being no centres within a 30 mile radius of where I live. That's literally nearly £400 lost in order to simply continue working in an industry that is rotten to the core and where you're underpaid?

How much money do they actually think us labourers are on? Then in a few years you will need some other form of certification to continue working.

This country is a joke and they will come up with all types of nonsense to excuse them stealing as much of your money as they can.

Horrendous

In principle the idea of having competent workers on site is great.
The service to obtain this is a nightmare.
I wanted to renew a skills card and contacted cscs via online hit.
The call is transferred overseas, with limited English speaking staff, who sit in the noisiest office imaginable. So I spent 20 mins shouting and repeating basic info down the phone, to establish my needs.
I'm a technician I the water industry (commissioning) but ended up with a pipe fitters card as it was the closest match to trade.
I feel I have done the necessary to allow me on site, but the test was basic and most covered in site induction, which are completed often.
Good money maker for the providers, and another expense trades people after endure.

Mad customer service

After standing 15 mints behind the line and been asked many times about personal details, the customer service AMY ROSE, laughed at me without making excuse for why she kept me behind the line and then lough at me, we foreigner will lough at you when time come by.
