OK, too expensive & tricky integrations
The system is ok, however the integration with shopify is pretty poor. With trade gecko (our previous system) you could upload a product as soon as it was created from the product page to any channel. With Cin7 core it is very long winded and tricky to do.
On top of this the prices have gone through the roof since cin7 took over Dear systems. So much so that for a small business like ours it is too expensive.
Unfortunately it means we are looking to migrate away.

We are considering a new system due to extreme price increases
The majority of the functionality is useful in Cin7 Core, however since Cin7 took over Dear Systems the pricing structure has become completely unsustainable for our small business. The so called "improvements for efficiency and functionality" have not improved from our perspective to justify this increase. Unfortunately the billing is in USD as well, and this on top of their pricing structure has resulted in an increase of over $2000AUD per year. We are considering a new system.

If you cancel this software you cannot do it in the dashboard. You need to schedule a call with someone first.
I scheduled the call and then emailed them that I don't need to take a call since I was cancelling for sure. I had literally not used the software anymore for a few months already.
They did not respond. Instead, I got billed again for my next month.
I contacted multiple emails, such as their accounting department and support about my cancellation.
Eventually, support responded but said they couldn't help me if I had not initiated the cancellation, and if I requested the cancellation, it should already have been cancelled.
I expect a refund for the last month I was billed and my subscription to be terminated immediately as I have sent numerous requests for it!
We have been using Cin7 Core…
We have been using Cin7 Core (previously Dear) for many years. Before Cin7 took over, Dear was a great system with all the features we needed at a competitive price.
Now, every single year we are seeing huge price increases, which I can only attribute to Cin7 greed. Despite the year on year increase in subscription, support and service has gotten worse (if it exists at all these days!)
Here's the past three years alone:
October 2023 - Increase of 12%
October 2023 - Increase of 13.5%
October 2022 - Increase of 17%
I expect some price increases, but no other piece of software we use (and we use A LOT) increases their price so regularly or so drastically. (And with very little warning at that)
I contacted "support" and I quote, "We make every effort to ensure you only go through one price increase per calendar year. "
Clearly the price will go up every single year. If you are considering this system, ensure this isn't a problem for you as you WILL see decent sized price increases (and very little to show for it) year on year.
Also, as we are billed in USD, this then doubles when converted to our local currency making it a very expensive piece of software indeed. Unfortunately the cost of training staff and learning a new system is prohibitive, else we would have long moved systems.
The product overall is great, but grossly overpriced.

Big Price, Poor Service and Quality
Since Dear was acquired by Cin7 prices have steadily increased and customer service has decreased.
Before the Cin7 acquisition customer service was prompt and helpful. Good luck now if you ever run into an issue!
For a business our size the main draw of Dear was the competitive price - $50USD a month when we started using it in 2015 with modest, reasonable, increases up until 2021 - when Cin7 arrived and the price doubled.
Now in 2024 they have over tripled our subscription price from where it was in 2023.
The product works well most of the time but I can no longer recommend it.

Cin7 is excellent for inventory & production management
Cin7 has been a huge unlock for our inventory and production management. We had been using QBE for all-things inventory and as anyone else who used it could share, it works but can be a bit lacking. Cin7 is a great solution when you need to upgrade.
Our Ops team has taken full ownership of the system (we did get them a bunch of training!) and uses it daily for procurement, production (copacked), and order fulfillment. Moving our data into Cin7 has facilitated COGS tracking at a lot-code level. Additionally, it's been a great control to have a system just for finance (QBO) and a system just for ops (Cin7).
We've integrated it to QBO and to Amazon, which drastically reduces the number of transactions we have to manually get involved with.
There are a couple modules that we don't use (they have a Production module geared towards self-manufacturing that we haven't utilized.
I reiterate - the biggest win for us has really been giving Ops an entire system that they "own". PO's are managed more timely and order tracking and revenue management is a lot easier.
We've utilized Cin7 support a few times on automating some functions and I've found them responsive.
CIN7 Core Program Checked the majority of our needs at a fairly reasonable price.
The Cin7 Core program checked most all of our boxes regarding an inventory program. Once the software is setup it is very user friendly. It links well with both Quickbooks and Xero. Each I have used with the program. It also allowed for our external programs to connect seamlessly for the most part. We are excited to see what the future holds with regards to our inventory management with the help of CIN7.

Cin7 are going through a lot of changes. The costs have gone up consistently. The most recent had very poor communication. We received 1 single email to mention our price was almost doubling next month. When questioned we were told that price was wrong and someone would check. We did not hear back. Then when chased there was some sort of discount put on. We as a company have no idea what costs were are facing as an OpEx with this software moving forward. We need clear pricing so we can budget and make informed decisions.

Used to have great customer support. Since it was taken over the only support you will get is from a bot that is no help whatsoever.
You need to employ some humans before everyone starts moving to other software.
