Unpleasant experience
I am not one to write reviews ...but on this occasion I feel I have to..my husband and I have been to elite koi on numerous occasions and been to events good customers we popped ellite koi on this day too pick up an item..once inside there where customers in shop chatting .to the owner and staff .we chatted as we usally did ...the owmer had got a new shipment of koi we got opportunity see the new koi .. once we in the main shop my husband explained another dealer had the same or similar fish ..he was asked to not discuss in his shop..the owner then proceeded to speak poorly about the other koi dealer and there premises I found this extremely unproffessional and given the fact we were not allowed to talk about another dealer but the owner is speaking badky about the dealer not good ..my husband apologised at talking about another dealer...the conversations carried on..it soon was clear to see that the owner was steering conversation towards a negative way ...anything that was disgushed was meet with negativity and he was clearly goading and provoking a reaction..with my husband .to at one point he said to my husband I am done with you and stormed of...then came back and carried on provoking ...at no point did he say OK let's agree to disagree ...my husband was calm and not in anyway disrespectful.. he proceeded to walk away as he had had enough of the way he had been treated .amd went towards the door and left ..I followed my husband at this point the owner as I was walking out the door put his hand on my back ...this not appropriate it felt very patronising and inappropriate under the circumstances... I got into the car and we drove of...once we had drive of and then parked up I broke down in tears ..I was so upset and hurt by the events that happened...I felt on that day neither i or my husband had done anything wrong...this has been a completely distressing experience it was unexpected and certainly shouldn't have happened...

Stay well clear
Having used elite koi for quite a few months now ..while we was in there on Saturday 7th March 2026.. myself, Chris the owner and a couple of other customers was having a chat , about koi and other subjects, in the topic of koi I happened to mention another koi dealer who had some of the same breed of koi Chris had just had delivered from Japan, well for some reason he took offence and went off on one having a go about mentioning another company in his shop ... so as I had only gone in there to make a purchase, and not for a argument. I let that go and just said I only mention them as part of the conversation we as having.. but that didn't make any difference..as he now seemed to be gunning for me . Which was even noticed by other customers at that time ...so from that min on everything we talked about..he disagreed with my opinion on everything ...he did not even have the professionalism or the mentality
to turn around at any point to say we will agree to disagree,he was just goading and pushing for a argument so it was time to turn away and leave the premises.. so having spent money with this business and even praised them before on occasions, it's a shame to have to write a bad review...but on a professional note I will not recommend a company where there is such a lack of professionalism or where a owner likes to try and make people feel very uncomfortable, and even bring a female customer to tears , with his totally discussing behaviour using passive aggressive techniques to try and push other people's buttons..a very lucky man because a few weeks before, I would not of been so carm myself and the out come would of been totally different ..

Pan net and handle
Ordered a pan net and handle although may have gone a bit overboard on the size of the net!!! Order was dealt with quickly and dispatched in good time. Only negative was the delivery company left the package in an alley at the side of the house luckily my wife found it before any one else! Although this is no reflection on Elite Koi it is out of their hands once it is dispatched. Thank you again.

I was a customer for several months and spent approximately £7,000 during that time. While I was making frequent purchases, interactions with Chris and Tracy were positive. However, after completing the pond rebuild and shifting my focus to family birthdays and Christmas, I noticed a change in their demeanor. They began engaging in private conversations and making suggestive remarks to other customers, which conveyed a negative impression.
We had two fish in the Harvest grow out, but as certain conditions were not met—specifically, having a heated pond during January’s cold weather—we were not provided with the fish and requested a refund. My partner visited the shop to collect the refund on my behalf and encountered unprofessional behavior; there were multiple delays attributed to ‘human’ or ‘technical errors’, and the process became prolonged. During her visit, both owners approached her frequently while she browsed, which made the experience uncomfortable.
To complete the refund for the two transactions, my partner was taken to another room to access a socket for the card machine. As one transaction completed and the second was pending, Chris announced, in front of another customer, that two items had just become available, directing his comment toward my partner. He also questioned her about the store’s stock booklet, despite her not being an employee, which added further discomfort. Given these experiences and the nature of the interactions, I found the conduct of the owners to be concerning. Prospective customers may wish to be aware of these issues, particularly if disagreements arise or if purchases are made elsewhere. Thankfully we have found more friendly and suitable dealers that value their customers, please avoid or at least shop with caution

Refund requested
I was miss sold a grow out event where the owner (Chris) said they would be kept in a dedicated heated pond and fed via an auto feeder, in videos he posted after the grow out started it was obvious that there was no heating element or feeder on the dedicated pond and the water quality looked poor…. On questioning this the owner said he had been let down by a builder, with the availability of drop in heaters and freestanding feeders this shouldn’t not be an issue to a competent dealer that knows about koi and ponds.. since looking around at other local dealers the fish at elite koi and ponds seem small and underfed compared to the same age and sized fish elsewhere yet the prices are higher,
I’ve written this review under the name reviewer as I have heard that he will message and threaten people that leave honest negative reviews….

I took part in a couple of grow out…
I took part in a couple of grow out events which in my opinion were not as advertised. The events were advertised as being in heated ponds and the fish being fed multiple times a day to give the purchased koi the greatest chance to grow and thrive. I found out that the ponds were not heated and did not have auto feeders installed on them. I believe that Elite will blame circumstances outwith their control but let's be honest, it wouldn't have taken much skill to install both a heater and an autofeeder to these ponds! Since moving away from Elite I have found numerous other dealers close by who have provided expert knowledge and koi in excellent condition at much better pricing. My recommendation is to shop around, there is better dealers around.

Avoid the grow out they do ! fish don't get the treatment your sold ! Fish do arrive with parasites tho , management is happy while taking your money soon as stop spending they block you on social media much better koi retailers out there
