Really, 10 days since I queried the double VAT that Etsy stole (charge) from me and still NO credit, although the agent promised it, still NO response to WHY Etsy stole double VAT from me, and yet I was promised it would take 7 days from 9/8/2022 when I reported it. Now it is taking Etsy ANOTHER 7 days from today. Their service is a JOKE. How do Etsy expect me to open a shop with them if it takes 17days (10 from when I reported it, and another 7 days as per your responses) to sort out something that the agent identified as the problem within 1 minute????????????? Then on top, Etsy suspends my account for querying the double VAT charge.

I sold a product on Etsy for €240 plus €9 shipping, of which I still have €170 left. I almost cried out of anger and inability to act.

They charged me €19 for shipping, even though I did all the shipping myself. Bought a parcel label from Hermes, printed it out, stuck it on and brought it to the parcel station yourself.

They charged me ~40€ marketing fees.

More fees for processing, shipping... more than 70€ in total, I'm just speechless, shocked by this nasty rip-off.

- €10.26 processing fee (when ordering)
- 15.60€ transaction fee (money comes from the buyer)

Today is September 17th, 2022, on September 19th the remaining amount of 172€ will supposedly be transferred to my account, they will probably take ~15€ again for that... in the end it will be 150€ and then I lost 90€.

I've never been ripped off online like I was on Etsy in my entire life.

Upon further investigation, checking the background of the management. It was clear... it's always the same!

I set up a shop and created two listings at the end of April 2022. Right away I realized I could not find my listings or shop when using my shop name and the keywords I used for my listings. Of course I had to chat with someone via the computer and they had to send an email to a different team for me to get an answer. After two days I did not receive a response. Tried again two days later and was told they had to send another e-mail. When I still didn't receive a response I responded to an e-mail I had for a different question customer service previously helped me with and asked for a phone number. I called and that person told me she had to send an email to a team that can't be accessed by phone; I agreed.

I have gotten scammed. Bought a item, and waited the 2 weeks it said it would be delivered. It's been a month already. Contacted the seller and they told me they are waiting on Royale Mail. To this day Royal Mail still says that my order cannot be tracked and I should try again tomorrow, asked the seller for a refund, THREE TIMES! only to find out that they deleted the store page. gg's got scammed. never seeing that money again. Please be careful and stay safe.

And I know some people are going to be like "oh but I'm sure that won't happen to me". I'm one of those people. It happened to me.

etsy ha messo arbitrariamente il mio shop in modalità vacanza, senza dare spiegazioni,nelle opzioni la modalità risulta su off ma la modalità è attiva e il tasto non funziona!! impossibile contattare il supporto o altri contatti che non siano dei modelli di faq che di fatto non aiutano a risolvere i problemi; invito tutti a diffidare di etsy,io ho pagato tutte le tariffe e non ho infranto alcuna regola,mi chiedono di reinserire i miei dati che hanno già, e quando ci provo il sito non va,e senza questi reinserimenti dicono che non possono pagarti... è una truffa! se leggete il contratto c’è una clausolla con l’impegno alla rinuncia di fare cause collettive, quindi credo che sia una truffa,vedo se mi pagano a breve gli introiti, se no cancellerò il negozio.

Have purchased some very unique items from Etsy sellers and have always been very happy with their services!

Etsy makes it impossible to get a refund. The man who sold me a big bottle of green water makes it impossible to get my money back. I paid $200 in good faith and I sent the big bottle of green water back. These people are no better than common thieves.

This pendant is gorgeous. It has a really pretty rainbow flash (hard to get a good picture of!), and I love the black inclusions on one side. It arrive much faster than I expected and was packed well! I am super in love with this necklace!

Bought a little table table with wicker basket on and after some wait it arrived. Quality of it was shocking; cheep wood, nails sticking out, paint was in some places ok in other different colour and human hair still stuck in it. I emailed Lucy the owner asking for a refund. Rudely I was given the address to returned the item. I asked who would cover postage expenses- no reply. I offered reimbursement of some money to me- no reply. Absolutely awful company to deal with. I can't believe I have spent £60 for something I can't even use.

We are from working class of Virginia, As a 17 years business account as a seller and buyer for last 30 days can not contact Etsy support via tel or email. Why You at Etsy you have betrayed long time patrons of Etsy. I have to say CEO: Josh Silverman You are not doing good job and you must go. Shame on you. I am from APIS GLOBAL account user name. Jeg bestilte for 2 måneder siden nogle billeder på Etzy, jeg synes bare ikke det kan passe at jeg har gået 2 måneder uden information om mit køb. Jeg ved ikke nu om jeg overhovedet får min pakke. Jeg har prøvet at skrive til dem, men intet svar. Dårlig service!

Is there any support at all? Issues with sellers are not getting resolved

I like Etsy most of the time. But they allow too long of waiting periods between the time you can order and the time you can complain or make a case if your order is not going right. I've ordered a lot from them and especially if you order something they can email you they take their time with confirmation emails. Not very professional and I'm not pleased at the way it's been going with them.

Har fået alle de ting jeg bestilte undtagen en fra italien, men her fik jeg heldigvis pengene tilbage fra sælgeren hurtigt.
Det er fedt at man f.eks kan vælge at støtte sine med europæere ved at købe fra dem istedet for kinesiske produkter. Jeg har fundet mange ting på siden der ville koste en formue i DK der alt sammen er produceret i Kina og går i stykker efter få ganges brug. Fandt nogle økser fra øst europa ( har glemt hvilket land præcis), men manden der producerede dem var metal ekspert og det er kvalitets økser. Super skarpe og de holder skarpheden efter mange ganges brug mens de skærer igennem træ som smør.
Derudover er der mange spændende ting produceret af privat personer så de er unikke og umulige at finde herhjemme hvor tingene er mere masse produceret.
Jeg var lidt i tvivl da jeg selv købte for første gang,,,, en sølv halskæde af gyldenbørste fra Estland,,,,, men den kom og jeg talte flere gange med damen der lavede den og hun var flink samt hjælpsom, hvilket er den behandling jeg synes jeg har fået fra samtlige jeg har snakket med på siden. Tror også privat personer med egen forretning sætter en større ære i tilfredse kunder da deres virksomhed er afhængige af det I modsætning til de større kæder vi er vandt i DK med ubehøvlet behandling samt lavt sortiment til alt for høje priser.

Sadly, I thought Etsy was a reputable source to buy from. Not so! I purchased a ring from a seller in India which had a good rating. The ring I received looked like a toy ring! Awful. All attempts to contact the seller resulted in no responses, and trying to go through Etsy to get a return is horrible! I would not recommend buying through Etsy, as they absolutely do not NOT protect buyers! EBay is much better at protecting buyers!

Still stealing frim my bank account when i dont have any business with them and they dont have a phone. Im filling a report FTC.

Have only used as a buyer and never had a problem until my last order and discovered how abhorantly bad customer support is! I ordered a product from a seller using my c.c., the seller messaged me saying she couldn't accept my payment unless I used PayPal and would have to refund me. I thought this unusual and just decided to have the seller refund me. Seller waited 2 days and shipped the package anyway then sent me a message saying she had to ship it because she didn't have the money in her acct. to pay the fees associated with refunding me so she had no choice but to ship it!? Huh? I contacted her about this and she told me she would go to the post office the next day to stop shipment and then refund me. The product sat at the post office for 5 days awaiting shipment. During this time seller didn't contact or refund me. I opened a case with support to get my refund explaining in detail the exact situation and knowing there was a record of the entire transaction and messages between myself and the seller. I somehow lost my case because she shipped the product she offered to refund me for? I didn't cancel my order I simply wanted to be refunded per the sellers offer to do so. Support didn't look into any of this and appeared to have not read any of the message exchange between myself and the seller. Until this incident and now going on trustpilot and discovering how problematic etsys support is. I'll not be using the site again and recommend others not as well!
