Awful

They are not honest about your discounts and tell you you’re gonna get your discount if you use so much kilowatts they lie they’re not honest at all and they do not treat their customer they have been screwing me around for over three months now. When this contracts up, I will not be renewing with them.

Frontier and CenterPoint is the worst…

Frontier and CenterPoint is the worst U.S. electric utility in the country. Most outages in the the entire country with days out downtime and outages. Complete embarrassment of a company. Without power all of today 3rd time losing power this month!

Run! Don't walk from this unethical price scamming company!!!

This is the most unethical and scam ridden company in the dereg power industry. They have a record number of complaint to the Texas Power Commission, I had to audit every bill as they had over charged me per the meter readings, and now they are harassing me for a balance that is their mistake which they even admitted! Run away, don't walk, run from this screwed up organization!

If you want to be robbed, this is the one for you!
This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with an energy company. I just moved & thankfully was able to switch over to a much better, responsible, & actually accommodating company. I went from paying $200+ for under 700 square feet to paying under $100 for 1000 square feet.
I previously lived in a 1 bed 1 bath apartment, (as I mentioned) less than 700 square feet. With this company, I have consistently paid more than $200 each month, which is ridiculous. That is more than my parents’ bill & they live in a 3 bed 2 bath house in the same area. I moved out in March & they charged me $276.70. I was only in the apartment from the 1st-15th. I had my service canceled on the 16th. So how is the bill that high?? Absolutely horrible & I would recommend literally any other company than Frontier. Their customer service is terrible & failed to address my concerns. I was redirected 6-7 times, probably because the agents I spoke to couldn’t come up with an explanation either. When I called to schedule my service to be canceled, I was suddenly offered a “cheaper” rate. Why does it take me canceling to get a better rate? 0/10 experience, I would rather not have electricity than use frontier again.

Price gouging!

Price gouging!
When I received my latest electric bill they had more than doubled the rate they charged me through the contract I signed with them. They claim they sent out a letter in February that the contract was expiring and that I would be charged more if I didn't renew. I did not receive any correspondence from them since last year.
Once I saw the bill and called them they transferred me around 3 times and no one would correct the bill. Then they had the audacity to ask if I wanted to renew my contract with them.
You would think they would make things right, if not for ethical/moral reasons, than to keep making money off me for a whole year more rather than price gouging me for one month.

my contact with reliant is over and price go up then i look for cheapest I found this scam company charge 11.6 per kw my first month bill came up $892 the worst I never paid more than $350 with my last contact they charge me over 3000 kw in one month that cracy i never use that much I should read the review before make decision .AVOIDE This company

I tried to enroll online

I tried to enroll online. It said you could use driver's license or social security number for credit check. It didn't state that if you use your driver's license they don't run a credit report and they demand a $275 deposit!! It won't let you back up to change it to social security number.

I called them and the man, who had such a strong accent that I had troubles understanding him, just started setting me up all over again with an account. So, I was on the phone for 40 minutes listening to the whole contract I had already read. I gave him my name and social security number. He asked if I wanted to add anyone. I said my husband.

After he ran my social security number he said it was requesting a $175 deposit (even though we have excellent credit). He told me not to worry because he was forwarding my app to the credit department and telling them my credit was good and he was sure it was going to be alright. I asked if he ran my credit and he said yes, but sometimes it comes back funny. Huh? I have excellent credit!!

He said he'd call me in 48 hours to let me know. I had wanted my service changed tomorrow, but wasn't playing that game! I said I wanted to change the start date until after the 48 hours. He said he'd have to transfer me to customer service to change the date. Yay. More fun.

Customer service told me my account wasn't in my name!! The first guy put it in my husband's name even though I called, gave my social security number, and added my husband as additional person! I do it this way so I can handle our affairs, but this second guy tells me he needs to speak to my husband for changes! This is exactly why I needed it in my name! He said he couldn't fix it without it taking another 40 minutes of my time going through their whole spill again!

I told him to just cancel it!! I did not at all trust that they weren't going to demand a deposit anyway which I've never had to give since being a teen-ager! After reading all the bad reviews, I think I dodged a bullet. God works in mysterious ways for our good!

This Frontier Electric company is a fraudulent company that manufactures fake kw of electricity the customer has used. Before I moved to a different electric company, I always checked a whole year of how much kw I used monthly so that I can purchase a plan that works for me. I live in a small place, 944sq ft condo, I put the heat at 67 and cool at 78. I am very conscious of how much energy I used. I cook once a week as I don't mind eating the same thing for a week. I do not own a tv or computer, just a phone. My 2nd bill came for 587.21, they are thieves! They are claiming that I used over 2000 kw. Made up numbers! I have proof from a whole previous year how I do not used over 1000 kw a month. My electric meter was checked on 2023 and is working fine. This company is falsifying the electricity watts usage to rob the customers. Don't used them! Checked the BBB reviews with similar cases!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Their rates are ridiculous in comparison to other competitors. Charged me over $150 for less than one month's time in a unit NOBODY LIVED IN AND EVERYTHING WAS UNPLUGGED! I tried being reasonable and getting on a call with them several times to negotiate meeting in the middle and they refused. I asked to hear the "recorded" sales call where the outrageous rates were supposedly confirmed prior to me buying and they wouldn't allow me to- I wonder why that would be? This company is full of scammers GO ANYWHERE ELSE!

Frontier Utilities - I do not recommend

I set up an account with Frontier and was told no deposit. They then canceled my account and and set me up with a new account to charge me more and a $350 deposit. My credit is excellent so I am not sure why the deposit was added.

You're dirt to them when your contract runs our

When my contract of 12 cents ran out, frontier charged me 22 cents for month to month. When checked power to serve this month, a Frontier 3-month contract was eight and a half cents! I called and wanted that rate, or even there 12 cent rate. But those are for new customers only. The lowest they would give an existing customer was like 17 cents.. Adios pinche perros.

There is no 0.5 star otherwise I would have given 0.5.

These guys are cheating, don't trust them, I am suffering a lot. Customer service also very very very bad, they are very rude and when we ask questions and explanation, they said that it's their policy and we are like this only.

I enrolled from choose Texas power. the advertisement was 14.1C per KWTS but they are charging 19.9 in addition to that other charges like center point charges, delivery charges etc.

Main cheating happening at calculation level and paying $100 credit. For example if I consume 1000 kwts then they will have to pay me $100 credit every month but they are not letting me to consume.

Ex:

1. If I target to consume 1000 kwts for 30 days they will generate bill for 26 days so my bill stop at 920 kwts and I will not get $100 credit.

2. If I target to consume 1000 kwts for 26 days then they will calculate bill for 35 days so consumption will reach to 1300 kwts and bill will increase like anything.

So both the ways we are loosing our money, So their plan is not to pay $100 credit to customers.

So please be carful, don't fall into their tricks.

$100 credit is not true, it's all cheating.

I called customer care and asked how can you generate bill for 26 days then they said it's their policy and it's their wish. I asked no where you mention this rule then they said it's our policy if you wish to continue then continue otherwise leave by paying early termination fees.

So friends Please think how this is fair ?

My "smart" meter said I used 100KW of power. It is literally impossible for my 900sqft house to use that much power. I don't have anything that is even possible to draw that much power. never, my highest is 60kw in Texas summer at over 110deg. Liars. Liars. Liars.

Harassment over unpaid bill prior to due date

I received FOUR phone calls in THREE days about payment of my final bill that wasn’t due for another 13 days. I assume I would have continued to receive a phone call every day until payment was made until I contacted customer service and told them to stop. I was out of the country on a cruise ship. I told the customer service agent I was out of the country which he acknowledged. He then asked if I wished to take care of the bill over the phone, I said I did not and that it would be paid prior to the due date. He then complained of the connection and I said yes as I told you, I am out of the country on a cruise ship. He then tried to continue the conversation until I hung up on him. I subsequently received 3 more phone calls before I emailed customer service to complain. I have never in my life been harassed about a bill prior to its due date until Frontier Utilities. I also noticed in an email I received from them (reminding me I had a bill due at a future date) that my bill is already with the “collections department”. I’m not sure if every bill is always with the “collections department” as opposed to accounts receivable but I will be monitoring my credit closely as this company seems extremely slimy in the collection department. If you want someone’s bill paid 13 days before it’s due, make the due date earlier. Do not use frontier utilities unless you want to deal with this type of billing department.

Do not use this company

I had a 1 yr contract with frontier and for the first year everything was great and then 5 days before my contract was due to expire I called them to renew for another year and I was told I could not which made no sense to me cause I know you can within 14 days.So i call back a few weeks latter and they get me a new year contract at a higher rate and when I asked why it was so much higher when I had a family member who signed up just afew days before at a lower rate and was told that rate is only for new customers and I got to pay a higher rate now which I did not like but I went ahead and got another year contract because the first year was so good..THEN i get my bill and it is 3 times what it should be so I call them up to find out why and they tell me my bill is higher because I was not under contract with them,but I said wait a sec I tried to renew my contract and yall would not let me yall said it HAD to expire before I could get a new contract ..I then spend the next 2 days talking to different people and asking them to review the audio log of my call trying to renew my contract..So the next day they get back to me and they said the reviewed it {they said anyways} and everything is fine because I signed up for a new contract.but that's not it at all, my issue is them charging me 3x as much for a month because I was not under contract because they would not let me renew said contract. and these guys just strait up lie to you..you will be talking to them and they will just make things up on the fly..listen do some research on them before you use this company. Tons of people all say the same thing...soon as that first year contract is up they scam you..they send your bill out just afew days before it is due so by the time you get your bill your already late and got to pay a late fee etc etc the customer service is the worst I have ever had in a utility company ever..I can not stress this enough

...DO NOT...use this company they WILL lie to you they will scam you ..this company legit really does scam people it is unreal for a utility company to act like they are those phone scams you hear about on the news
