The fix for a botch is a botch!!!
Received a guitar kit which had a split in the neck. Not the best start.
Eventually got in contact with somebody who provided £25 refund and free grain filler to fix the neck. Being qualified in guitar maintenance gave me the ability to complete the fix.
Unfortunately, I have no idea what this product is like because it still hasn’t arrived after more than 2 weeks. Apparently it’s stuck in customs!!!
Considering this is a fix for a guitar kit issue that was also a less than smooth transaction, you’d have thought they would make sure they got it right but……….!!!!!
Definitely not a pleasurable experience in any way and probably won’t be back

Edit update
After another two weeks waiting for the grain filler so I can repair the neck, it is still stuck in customs and although I was promised an update on what is happening, non was received and I cannot repair my guitar neck unless of course I buy my own grain filler.
This is a totally unsatisfactory service and I won’t be buying from this company again. I cannot believe that the uk warehouse has not been replenished with stock and they cannot supply me from that.
One very frustrated customer!

Regarding the initial issue, the split in the neck was acknowledged, and we worked together to find a solution that would allow you to proceed without delay. A partial refund was issued, along with complimentary grain filler, based on your confirmation that you were qualified to carry out the repair yourself. This solution was proposed and agreed upon in good faith to minimise disruption to your build.
Unfortunately, the shipment of the grain filler was delayed in customs, which is regrettable and understandably frustrating. While we monitor and follow up on these cases, customs processing and release timelines are ultimately outside of our direct control. We fully recognise that this delay prevented you from progressing with your repair as planned, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Regarding UK stock availability, certain materials are stored in limited quantities due to regulations and logistics constraints, which can occasionally impact immediate local dispatch. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and your feedback highlights an area we continue to work on improving.
We are truly sorry that this situation has led to disappointment and a loss of confidence. Our intention has always been to support builders—especially experienced ones—by offering practical solutions, transparent communication, and technical support throughout the process.
Thank you again for your honest feedback. While we regret that this order did not reflect the level of service we strive for, we do appreciate the opportunity to learn from it and improve.
Mixed performance
Too early to say about the kit but it seems to be all there. Frustrating that the instructions don’t really deal with the Ricky copy I bought and keeps banging on about other guitars (the photos seem to relate to a tele?
Delivery was chaotic, why do suppliers split packages then say they’ve completed the delivery?
The body has a recess behind the bridge with no explanation as to what is supposed to happen to it. Different finish (it’s not as good as the body generally) or is there something missing.
Email responses take too long and nobody picks up the phone.
It’s interesting that Guitar Fabrik only as for reviews if you’ve had a good experience, really!

The recess behind the bridge is a standard feature of this body design and is intentional—it is not a missing part, and any finish difference in that area is normal as it is not visible once the hardware is installed.
Regarding response times, we always aim to reply promptly, but without an order number or contact details, it can be difficult to identify the correct build.
Finally, review invitations are sent automatically to all customers, regardless of their experience. Feedback—positive or critical—helps us improve.

So exciting
After 6 months, it's done ! Was it easy? No, but so exciting. Step by step, I took the time. It's not perfect, but I learned a lot. I'm proud of the result, and ready for a new kit.

Je n'ai pas pu acheter les teintes que j'avais choisi au départ, pourtant la non disponibilité n'était stipulé, et j'ai du prendre d'autres teintes par défaut qui ne sont pas à la hauteur de mes attentes.

I ordered the Iceman Bass Kit
I ordered the Iceman Bass Kit. Within 10 days it was at my door. From the UK to Michigan, USA. Awesome in itself. It was easy to put together. After a few tweeks, it will be show ready. Good job guys.

Needs work.
There are a couple of flaws in the kit I purchased. The neck shape at the heel isn't symmetrical. There is also a small dent in the body on the top edge of the top horn.

Il kit arriva in una scatola di cartone che non è proprio il massimo, se fosse caduta durante il trasporto si sarebbe potuto rompere qualcosa.
Il body ha una parte non ben sagomata, il pickguard è troppo grande e non si adatta al corpo, le meccaniche non tengono a lungo l'accordatura.
Qualità dei legni ottima ,pick up, ponte e ferma corde non sono niente male.
Il prezzo del kit è troppo elevato visto i problemi riscontrati.
A meno che i prezzi non scendano intorno ai 100/120 euro non consiglio l'acquisto di questi kit.

Purtroppo, non avendo ricevuto riscontro alla nostra richiesta di dettagli dell’ordine tramite Trustpilot, e non trovando alcun ordine associato al nome indicato nei nostri sistemi, non ci è stato possibile verificare il caso né intervenire in modo concreto.
Per quanto riguarda le sue osservazioni: la qualità dei legni è uno dei punti centrali dei nostri kit, così come l’elettronica di base, pensata come una piattaforma solida per eventuali upgrades. Alcuni componenti, come le meccaniche o il pickguard, possono richiedere piccoli aggiustamenti durante l’assemblaggio, come avviene comunemente nei kit DIY.
Siamo sinceramente dispiaciuti che il rapport qualité/prix non abbia soddisfatto le sue aspettative. Quando viene segnalato un problema reale, lo prendiamo sempre seriamente e lavoriamo per trovare una soluzione con il cliente.

Friendly + professional + good quality
I have build a few guitars and wanted to build a bass guitar. The kit quality from The Guitar Fabric is outstanding. I really enjoy working with the ash wood body. The Canadian maple neck was just finished with oil and looks beautiful. The hardware is decent quality and there is no need for soldering. Overall a very good package and I will definitely recommend them. Thanks for all your help.
