I had a very poor experience with HFE’s Pilates teacher training and would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

The so-called “training” was completely inadequate. The entire face-to-face element amounted to a single weekend, which is nowhere near enough to properly prepare someone to teach Pilates safely or confidently. There was no real depth, support, or meaningful instruction.

The instructors were rude, disengaged, and appeared uninterested in teaching. Much of the time was spent talking about themselves and how much money they earn, rather than focusing on students or delivering quality education. It felt unprofessional and dismissive. My 1-1 tutor Dawn made little to no contact with me and when she eventually answered my calls/messages they were no longer than 5 minutes.

Things became even worse when I experienced a serious family illness and had to step back temporarily. Despite the fact that they could clearly see I hadn’t logged into the platform for weeks, I was told I could not pause my studies or even pause payments while I wasn’t working. There was no compassion, flexibility, or basic human understanding shown at all.

In my opinion, this organisation feels more focused on taking money than on providing genuine training or student support. From my experience, this qualification is not taken seriously, and reputable studios are well aware of HFE’s reputation.

Overall, I feel completely let down and regret enrolling. Save your money and choose a proper, well-respected training programme that actually prepares you for a career and treats students with professionalism and respect.

I initially left a negative one star review because my tutor left HFE during my course and I didn't get any support for a while. However, I had a call from Sarah a few days ago - she was really friendly and helpful. The online platform is good and the books/learning materials offered are high quality. My only gripe with some of the online questions is that some of the scenarios are a bit subjective - I've found the platform a bit tricky to use at times. Now that I have a tutor assigned to me, I'm hoping that I'll be able to navigate some of these questions a bit easier.

From enquiry to certification, HFE surpassed all my expectation. They speak in plain English, pricing is transparent and consistent (no flash sales or pressure). The website and learning system are SO GOOD it is really easy to see your tasks, % of course complete etc so you can manage your learning really well. I did the Aqua L2 in about a month under my own steam. I’ll definitely be booking Yoga and/or Pilates in the new year - THANK YOU!!!

I am extremely disappointed with HFE. I purchased the Pilates course and feel I was completely mis-sold this product. Before signing up, I explicitly told the sales representative that my English skills were weak and that I understood better than I could speak. I asked if this would be a problem. They assured me it was "fine" and pushed me to buy.

That was a lie. For a Pilates instructor, verbal cueing is essential, and my level of English was not sufficient. They knew this but cared more about their commission than my success. On top of that, the tutor support was very weak, and I felt abandoned. I paid off my installments a year ago, but I have nothing to show for it but wasted money. If English is not your first language, stay away from HFE. They will say anything to get your money.

I adore refomer but I was lucky to get an assessor I adored just as much. AJ was knowledgeable, kind, encouraging and really made the whole experience just lovely!

Danielle Sharrock is an amazing tutor and made the HFE Pilates course a fantastic learning experience. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and explains everything clearly, creating a confident and encouraging environment The course itself is well structured, practical, and every tutor is so knowledgeable. The best part were the zoom calls weekends were I met so many good people throughout the course and we had so much fun learning Pilates all together.
Definitely recommend. And I’m definitely coming back soon for more courses. :)

I have used many different learning platforms over the last few years to gain my fitness qualifications but I can honestly say this was the most professional and well put together of them all. The content and delivery, especially from Dawn was great. Highly recommend!

I have just completed my level 2 Gym instructor course and my support tutor, Sarah, was just brilliant. She helped me with navigating course content and explaining the fundamentals of planning a gym programme. I am so grateful for her support. As I live in a very remote community, it was also great to be able to learn online. A fab experience and thank you again to Sarah!

I studied for the Level 3 personal trainer online course. The online learning videos, slides and course text books were easy to navigate and to a high standard.

My support tutor Sarah, was friendly, knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging and was easy to reach either by phone or email.

Case studies were supported with user friendly guides and tutorials and marked promptly.

For my final practical assessment, I did this in person in London and I highly recommend this method. Fraser, the tutor was very welcoming and offered excellent guidance and feedback.

I would highly recommend HFE.

I've trained for years from a personal perspective and this year i decided to challenge myself and take a formal qualification so I could help pass on that experience and give other people the same enjoyment I get out of being in the gym. I work full-time so having the ability to undertake the course online really suited my schedule. The course content was great, and even better, a hard copy of the required reading material needed to help get you through the various modules sent to me in the post. It would be remiss of me not to mention the excellent support I received from my tutor Sarah. If I needed a call to discuss something, she was there. If I emailed a query, she responded. When I was freaking out over something stupid, she calmed me down. The support from her was fantastic. Thanks Sarah, your help over the last few months has been the best. Seriously folks, if this is something you are interested in, use this company. You won't regret it.

I did my diploma in personal training and a diploma in exercise referral with HFE and absolutely loved it! Sarah was my support tutor and she was brilliant. Everyone at the company is so helpful and supportive throughout my time with them. I would highly recommend and will definitely be looking at future courses with them.
