This is my second Hyundai i10. Great little car but the service side of things is abysmal. Both rear seatbelts have jammed and it’s out of warranty. My MOT is due next month but they say they aren’t c... Toon meer

I bought a brand new Hyundai in…
I bought a brand new Hyundai in Croydon. Very much disappointed! I felt grossly cheated with the spefication of the car. I asked for a specific car, and was sold a different specifications. Only found out when I went to collect the car after signing the agreement. I trusted them, but I was completely fooled with my new car. I tried to liaise with them and see if they can honestly accept the fault, instead they brought down the feedback link as soon as I wrote to them. No apology, no remorse from management. I felt completely misled and cheated by that sale: it was very dishonest.
I trusted them to provide the same car specification, instead, they sold me a similar model with different specifications. Management did not even apologise or try to reach a compromise. It was dreadful.
Not a good experience and most concerning was that my feedback link was removed. Appalling!!!!
West Riding Manchester
I can only sing the praises of the Manchester Hyundai group. West Riding Group.
I must 100% mention Elise Rimmer and Ian Brown for their caring , understanding and professionalism .
From start to finish , purchasing my new Kona Hybrid was altogether a beautiful experience and stressfree.
Every option , colour and build, I asked for on my new car, Elise delivered unequivocal.
Thank you West Riding.

Don’t buy Hyundai
Don’t buy Hyundai! Dont buy Hyundai! Dont buy Hyundai!
Very problematic car compare to Europeans car. Every day different problem.for the last two years I was just busy with the problems my Hyundai Tucson has and still not resolved. Having visit the dealership three times and parts change but still same problem.the service from the dealers disaster.no customer service what so ever . Try to book service is ridiculous waiting time and the Hyundai dealership’s team thinks what a big job they are doing by changing oil and filters.
Such a disgrace ! better driving old European car then driving the new good looking pan .avoid avoid avoid
I would give it half star if I could…
I would give it half star if I could ... The show room staff great in Milton Keynes but the customer service / finance dept are truly shocking ... I exchanged my car a month ago with a new company who have paid off the loan I had on the Kona ... I've had been calling weekly to confirm the payment and I'm being told No money has been paid ... I've been doing their job making calls to the new company Ive bought the car from!! Shocking service I've even sent over the payment made email and hyandi finance still have taken over a month to sort it and I'm still getting letters .. not helpful at all just being told to make contact with the new car company which isn't down to me
Poor experience
Poor experience. I was looking to test drive a 288hp all wheel drive plug in hybrid Tucson as part of Motability scheme… I emailed two large dealers and head office no response. Problem is I was told Hyundai stopped doing the car I wanted last September but literature & a garage said no hence why I wanted clarification. Looks like I had a lucky escape
⚠️ Think twice before buying a Hyundai
⚠️ Think twice before buying a Hyundai — the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.
I own a Hyundai Tucson N Line, 72 plate — less than 3 years old. The amber engine warning light came on and the car started hesitating and jumping when accelerating from a standstill.
I contacted my local Hyundai dealership — earliest appointment? JULY. I then called Hyundai Roadside Assistance — told me the car is still driveable so they can't help. I then called Hyundai Customer Care — vague promises to "look into it" with no timeline or commitment.
I ended up having to book and pay for an independent diagnostic myself (£45 out of my own pocket) just to find out what was wrong with my WARRANTED vehicle. Result: faulty EGR valve. A clear mechanical failure on a nearly new car. Repair quote from the independent garage? £1,127. A bill that Hyundai should be covering in full.
Hyundai's 5-year warranty is heavily marketed at the point of sale. What they don't tell you is that when something goes wrong, you'll be met with two-month waiting lists, unhelpful roadside assistance, and a customer care team that offers nothing but empty promises.
I am now pursuing this through the Motor Ombudsman.

Actually minus2 rating POOR CUSTOMER CARE
Actually minus2 rating. Slow, very unhelpful and unbothered. No couryesy car while I wait for a repair because clutch work is a wear and tear. My car is just sitting there because it was a breakdown not a booked job. I have only ever serviced with hyundai. DISSAPOINTING!! I am paying for my rental too!
Bilal
I bought a car about a month ago and after a couple of weeks my screen start going on and off and is not good so I took it to service. They said they cannot find anything so they told me if it happens again we need to further investigate I told him the screen is broken is not working. I am a taxi driver and I need the screen because of the rear camera. I’m always on the road they seem to not understand and very poor servicing Enişte not dealing with a good not explaining anything and kind of rude as well so not very happy with Hyundai Oxford service.
Fantastic@Hutchings Hyundai, Pontypridd
Fantastic@Hutchings Hyundai. Its true that there are sales persons who care. Jenna was almost perfect :). We saw Jenna back in January 2026 when we started looking for our new car. had already been to several dealerships but the wife did not like the cars we had looked at. Came to Hutchings@Treforest Ind Est, Pontypridd. Jenna came out made time to chat about what we were looking for due to my wife's disability. Today we returned asked for Jenna who again made time to sit and chat check that we were happy to ordered out new Car and then Jenna made our day by telling us the car in the colour and spec we wanted was available in the UK and we may be able to collect by the end of the month unlike several other dealerships who quoted at least 3mths. Jenna Thank you so much. I wish that all sales people would take a leaf out of your book and put the customer first. Jenna you are a credit to Hutchings Hyundai@Treforest Ind Est. See you soon when we come to pick up our new car.
Customer Sevice is non existent
Customer Sevice is non existent - they've had more than enough opportunity to interject on an ongoing Warranty Claim for:
300+ stone chips on bonnet only
Drivers seat wearing through after 2years
50 plus electronic faults suffered
Cannot ever purchase another Hyundai
Completely ruined the experience of buying a "premium car" (40k)
Depreciation extremely disappointing also (lost 7k per year)
Dealers are poor (recently suffered a 4 hour wait for a pre booked, minor service)- awful customer service
Car is clearly not fit for purpose
Given no option but to go to the Ombudsman
Warranty- waste of time
Goodwill- none
Unacceptable Aftersales Service & Ignored Warranty Claim
Very poor aftersales service from Hyundai Colney Hatch Lane and Robert Tearle, After Sales Manager.
My car has a clear paint defect/warranty issue and I’ve been waiting over 2 months for progress despite inspection reports confirming the claim needs approval and repainting. Calls and messages were ignored, promises of callbacks were not kept, and even Hyundai Customer Service is still waiting for updates from them.
When selling the car everything was easy, but once a problem appeared the support disappeared. Meanwhile, the paint condition keeps getting worse.
(Hyundai IONIQ 6 Electric Car)
This level of communication and customer service seriously damages Hyundai’s reputation.
I purchased a Hyundai HYC2400E Electric…
I purchased a Hyundai HYC2400E Electric Chainsaw 2400W 40cm Cut. Assembled per instructions, ran it for around 30 seconds to ensure it worked then placed in a box until I needed to use it. 6 weeks later came to use it and it is dead. Changed fuse but it remains dead. It hasn’t even cut wood! Customer service are extremely difficult to contact. I have no confidence in the reliability of this product. Waste of money!
Shocking customer service
Shocking customer service. Shane as the cars are decent. Ordered a car at the Richmond SW London branch. Only for it to close down shortly after. And unbeknown to me the order wasn’t placed. I kept receiving emails from them to say my order had been placed but fact was it wasn’t. It was some computer generated nonsense that had me believe the car was coming. I never found out for 8 months. By the time I re ordered the car cost more. Then when I finally received the car the dealership failed as promised to sort my insurance out as per the contract. They failed to include my partner. This was not realised until six months later. All I received was a basic apology. When I had a handover for the new car there was no one available. 8 months later I’m still waiting. I’ve had a fault on a back sensor which has been on re ordered for ages. I’ve been waiting g for six weeks for a call back regarding a faulty infotainment system. Honest buy any other brand of car because this company care little about the customers once they have completed the sale. They clearly don’t care about reviews like this either.
Drive it for two month's with an unknown defect
I have a Hyundai Tucson from new. I do like the car, and it’s now done just 40K and 4 years old, so still under warranty. As you would expect I usually have to wait a couple of weeks for a service, which is acceptable. But now the engine management light has come on, as they sometimes do. So think OK, lets call Brayley’s, (The Hyundai dealer in St Albans),which has serviced it from new. I wait for ages for an answer, to be told by a not very helpful man, who didn’t seem happy saying “we cant look at it until mid July”. Thats 10 week away. So it is the start of May and they want to resolve an issue with a car that is under warranty in mid July.
I ask if the car is OK to drive, he agrees that we don’t know what is wrong, but says it’s only an amber advisory. So I’m told by this Hyundai dealer that the car is still OK to drive for over 2 months with an engine management light on, not knowing what is wrong or what additional damage or issues it may cause to my car, or even if it’s still safe. Maybe he should speak to his certified MOT tester or a technician about that.
I can’t say I’m particularly happy with Hyundai customer service at this dealer,So I wrote to Hyundai to see if that is what they would advise and the concern about the wait. Their reply was “we are not mechanically trained so can’t comment” and that their retailers are “all independent and we don’t manage their operations”. I think that says it all.
I’m not sure what sort of service you would expect, but I would expect someone who sells a car with a 5 yr warranty, should actually take some responsibility for their product!
Warning to potential Hyundai EV buyers
Warning to potential Hyundai EV buyers. My Ioniq6 is currently laid up at Hyundai Dunfermline following treacherous sympotoms prior to breakdown.
The dealer had to be forced to take the car as they are already crippled with recovered cars.
My car is not even due to be looked at for 3 months, thats before a timescale for repairs or part delays.
Hyundai have no fleet cars to give you, you will be lumbered with a small, budget hire car for months whilst paying for your ioniq6, ioniq5 etc.
I only know of one other ioniq6 in the town I live and they, all of a sudden have a 25 plate 2008e in their drive, same as me. Not proof, but id state my life on them having the same issue.
If my car has the ICCU failure, Hyundai do not have a reliable fix, plenty of cars suffering multiple failures.
I agree that all cars have common faults, big and small. The problem here is that Hyundais assist network seem to be falling apart and cannot help customers to a reasonable degree.
Steer well clear, wish I had.
Hanley Hyundai
I had been browsing for a new car and knew I wanted a Hyundai, so I decided to visit Hanley Hyundai without booking an appointment. As soon as I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Mark, who approached me in the waiting area and asked how he could help.
Mark was incredibly helpful from the start, taking the time to answer all my questions and guide me through the available options. Thanks to his support, I was able to choose a car that perfectly matched what I was looking for and also for the specifications I wanted. He also did the part exchange assessment for my previous car on the same day, and I was very pleased with the valuation offered.
Throughout the entire process, Mark was friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any queries I had. The new car was ready within a week, exactly as promised, and it was presented in excellent condition—clean both inside and out.
One suggestion I would add is that it would be helpful to clearly explain before picking up a new car is that there may be any additional costs that you can buy such as optional extras or service plans. This would be especially useful for customers who are working within a set budget. The transfer on the day for the car was smooth, organised and stress free with Mark explaining everything.
Thank you, Mark, for making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable!
Awful customer service.
Awful customer service.
I tried to join their Hyundai Charge service, sometime last year.
The card didn't work, so I called them and they told me there was a £10 activation fee. I was not prepared to do that, and told the lady to just cancel it and she confirmed she would.
Despite this, they have forwarded that £9.98 debt to a debt collection agency named Debtist.
They have given me a deadline etc of when to pay the now £63.33 after some made up fees, for a service I cancelled the same day.
I'm in the UK, and I know my legal rights. Within the UK you cancel services and get refunds within a 14 day cooling off period if you order / subscribe via telephone or internet, as per the customer rights act.
Despite multiple calls to Hyundai, they insist they're looking in to it, in the meantime the final date to pay the bill to Debtsist is today. Theres no way to call Debtist as they don't even have a UK contact number.
I tried to open the pay portal last week and today and it doesn't even load, it just says "Loading Details"...
Not only is there customer service awful, there dealers are too.
Myhyundai app is once again not…
Myhyundai app is once again not working. Hyundai replaced bluelink (that worked) with app myhyundai that is in opinion is badly designed.
My samsung phone keeps coming up myhyundai needs updating but keeps failing to update and know longer works. My ipad update work so can use this. Please bring back bluelink it worked and myhyundai seems more about trying to sell more products not functional use for hyundai car users
I tried to book my car in for a service…
I tried to book my car in for a service for over a week. The service team are not picking up the phones. I then went through the buy a car option and was told I can’t be transferred however they would email the manager and service team I get a response that day. Still nothing. This is more disappointing as I’m a mobility customer.
I10 Sat/nav failure at 11K miles
To whom it may concern; Some time ago my wife wanted a practical new small car. We studied what was available and decided on a Hyundai I10, but she wanted one with all the “bells and whistles” of sat/nav, DAB, sunroof, heated seats, A/C,heated steering wheel, metallic paint, alloy wheels and full infotainment. We found that the I10 “Premium” met this specificationperfectly. We looked around and found one, an ex-demonstrator which, although pre-registered on an 18 plate for 11 months, had only 40 miles on the clock, so we bought it as to all intents and purposes it was brand new.It was, and is, a superb vehicle in the small mini car range. It is well built, solid and as it is the 1200cc version, just about has the legs for the odd longer journey if required. We were often congratulating ourselves on making the right choice of car and that our research had paid off…. that was until one day in the recent past when we went out in it and the sat/nav, instead of showing us an accurate map of surroundings of the car, began to intermittently start showing large volume of water where there was none.I looked up what to do on the Hyundai info pages and it recommended downloading a map update, so I bought the necessary USB, downloaded an update from the Hyundai update website, and attempted to upload it to the cars sat/nav. This failed, it would not upload. Numerous attempts were made, including a number of fresh downloads from the website, cleaning the SD cards connections, trying a new SD card etc. all avenues were explored (no sat/nav pun intended)This was becoming very frustrating, so I booked it in with Marshall Hyundai Hereford, explaining the situation and they said they would try to update it at no charge. Great. Took the vehicle to Marshalls and waited for over three hours, only to be told that they could not get it to work either. I asked if they could repair it and they said no repair was possible and a new unit would be required at a cost of over £4000. I politely made my displeasure known. To add insult to injury Marshalls informed me that the car had been given a “free” vehicle health check and it required a new “clip” on the steering rack. I was not shown where the clip was, and I was not given the “old”one. On the invoice the clip was costed at 50pence. THE COST FOR FITTING IT WAS £90.00.You may call me cynical but it is difficult not to suspect that the cost of fitting the “clip” was actually just a way to recover payment for the time taken trying to fix the sat/nav that had been stated as being free!!!I was now totally frustrated and angry so I looked further on the internet to see what could be done. On many Hyundai forums the recommendation was that if all else fails, disconnect the battery for 15 minutesto initiate a “hard reset”. I did this and the unit has now lost all sound, although the display says that it is playing and all controls are working. So;· The sat/nav has failed on a car that has done only 11000 miles· It cannot be repaired, or recovered, by a Hyundai dealership· The only “fix” is to purchase a new one at about the same price that the car is worth· Having read up on this it would appear to be a known fault that SHOULD HAVE BEEN subject to a recall· After a “hard reset” there is now no sound from any of the unit’s systems, radio/USB/phone etc. although the digital display shows that the unit and its controls are functioning normally· My wife is now stuck with a car that she probably could not sell as it has no sat/nav and no infotainment…the price of the vehicle, with such built-in things inoperable, will be drastically reduced· In addition: I was charged £90 for some sort of mystical clip that cost 50p but takes over an hour to fit· I find this all to be a blatant disregard of the customer, a total failure of customer service and proof of the modern corporate rip-off culture This is not good enough. This remains a great vehicle BUT I do not expect a major component to fail so early in its life expectancy. I, and most reasonable people, would expect such a significant system to remain functional for as long as any other critical system such as the Engine ControlComputer or the ABS system.Furthermore, when a system component fails it MUST be repairable. The fault with this car is unacceptable and I expect proper customer service which would include repair at least, and replacement if needs be.Such a great car…I really expected better! This note will be sent to Hyundai UK, Marshall Hyundai Hereford
