Maui Jim Sunglasses redo
I had an older pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses that the prescription was getting older. I really like the frames so I shipping them to Lensabl for new lenses. I just got them today and the progressive lenses and auto tint are very goid. I have another newer pair of glasses and these are as good or better than them. Im very impressed with the lenses and the price. Almost 200 dollars less than Lenscrafters !! I very satisfied with Lensabl !!
WHERE'S THE CUSTOMER SERVICE
Here's the text from my last email to Lensabl, to which they never responded: "What you are saying to me (the customer) that I should have first looked at every FAQ to find out if Lensabl.com can make my lenses smaller, and then because I didn't do that you made my lenses much larger than in my order instructions, instead of emailing me (the customer) that you cannot make the lenses smaller and are refunding my payment ($227.09) minus shipping charges. Do I have this right? Please advise.
In response to Lensabl's response, if you expect your customers to read your convoluted FAQ, which are numerous, why don't you say so instead of sending a terrible product?

I gave it a 3 but that is a 1, a 3 and a 5.
5 order: everything went perfectly and I got my glasses back quickly and just right.
3 order: they cut the first lenses for a pair of Bose Sunglasses wrong - they didn't fit the glasses (they made the lenses to fit a pair of Bose Tenors but didn't have my frames) so they had to redo them. Second try were fine.
1 order: still in the middle of this mess. Sent them some expensive Oliver Peoples sunglasses for progressive prescription. First lenses failed QC. Second, they say did but the delay meant that they wouldn't get to us before we went to our house in Italy for the summer. They identified a way to ship them to me in Italy but that was a week ago and they still haven't shipped. Every excuse under the sun but it is driving me crazy (the glasses are for my wife) and drove me to post this review.
Prepare to be in the dark about your order...
This was our first time using Lensabl, and our experience wasn't the best. It took 3 attempts for the lab to get the lenses right.
The first problem was a quality control issue, so we never saw the final outcome. On the second attempt, looking through the lenses gave my dad a headache, and one of the lenses wasn't mounted flush to the frame, and looked like it could pop out. The third attempt came out perfect.
Julie, in Customer Service, was fabulous. Helpful, efficient and did her best to make sure we were happy. The problem was, we shouldn't have needed Julie.
Lensabl has an order tracking system on their website, which supposedly tells you what stage your glasses are in as it goes through the process. Unfortunately, they seem to stop using it if an order goes through the process more than once. So not only did it take a really long time to receive the correct order, we had to keep contacting Lensabl ourselves for updates, hence our new best friend, Julie.
I like the idea of Lensabl, but they still have a few kinks to work out with their processing and communication departments. To their credit, I will say they were one of the few companies out there that will make prescription sunglasses for a curved sports frame that we purchased from another store. Apparently that's a rare thing these days, so kudos to Lensabl for offering that convenience.
This fiasco was the absolute worst…beyond belief!
This fiasco was the absolute worst customer service in my lengthy life. Not exaggerating here, and am particular but not an excessively demanding complainer and almost never negatively review. I try to understand service problems, but this was the Nightmare from Hell. Read good reviews in NYT article and sent my nearly-new expensive European frames. Reviewers said 'they shipped my glasses in less than a week!' Well it took them to ship my simple average order, which I make all the time with Eyebuydirect....TWO MONTHS of 30+ messages (they DO NOT accept calls). In nearly a month they made the scrip WRONG! Made the scrip BACKWARDS! You would think they would expedite the redo, but it took another month of NON-RESPONSES from their incompetents. I have all the emails showing their gross incompetence! This is beyond any experience of inexcusable lack of customer service. Even the redo was not satisfactory as they FAILED to put the Transition coating I PAID extra for! I gave up, as their incompetence was so untrustworthy that I had already suffered two months with an old pair of lenses that I kept the incomplete glasses

The worst- never heard back when glasses were wrong. Had to go through credit card for refund.
I ordered 2 pair lens
I ordered 2 pair lens. Neither were useable. $400 wasted. Horrible Company, Total Rip Off Don't take a chance!!!
I love my new sunglasses but the online status UI was horrible
I love my new glasses. Well done on the my lenses. The reason I could not give 5 stars because I could not see the status of my glasses-it felt like I sent my glasses into the abyss and I did not know if they were coming back. I understand a quality process/length of time and I am definitely ok with that but the online status UI was horrible.
The experience was great but more work required now
The experience was great, the lens replacement and lenses are amazing my issue is, the frames were stretched and now the glasses are loose. They weren't loose when I sent them, so the process had to stretch them out a little. I will now have to spin my wheels looking for a shop in Vegas willing to attempt to correct this issue. Everything else was pretty great. Thanks

It was easy to place my order. I was able to call and change my payment method without issue. My glass arrived and the prescription is perfect.

The original lenses I purchased had the focal point too high. They made new replacements without any hassle which kind of surprised me. Their lenses are high quality with great prices and service

Not great communication on when to expect the order back, receipt etc. Took days to get response. But the glasses were good once received
Overcharge on credit card
Company response was quick with sending out the glasses, however my credit card was charged $10 more than what was quoted and what was reflected on the Invoice. There has been no explanation why the charge was $10 more than the quote and invoice.
The frames and the glasses are great
The frames and the glasses are great. There was some miscommunication with the order and shipping information. It was not clear if my prescription uploaded correctly and I never received a shipping confirmation and had to reach out to confirm both of these things. For that reason only 4 stars.
Order got stalled
Order got stalled (taking a long time) and the site never got off "6 days to shipping," so I emailed for an update at day 6. Rep said it was going to ship in 1-2 days. Website continued to say 6 days. It didn't ship in 1-2 days so I emailed again. In another 2 days after that it finally shipped. I felt like I was just being placated.

It took more than 6 weeks to receive my glasses which was significantly more than the stated turn around time. There was also no communication about the delay. I had to reach out to customer service and even then didn’t receive an update. Only a “we’ll look into it.” I love the glasses and the lenses are well made. Just need more accurate turn around times and better communication.
