Awful company was quoted £70 on the phone and ended up being £312 for a basic lock not sure drilling the lock instead was completely necessary we only locked the keys inside the flat.
I wish I had read these before I booked…
I wish I had read these before I booked them in a panic when my 94 year old mother in law was locked out. They gave misleading price information on the phone, turned up and it wasn’t a simple lock and charged £400. The locksmith was rude and belligerent and aggressive. If we hadn’t been desperate we would have sent him away but he was going to charge a call out fee so we went ahead. I will be making a formal complaint.
This company are liars
This company are liars. They lied to me about price when I called as I specifically asked about charges yet they deliberately omitted basic costs to mislead me. They also did not inform me when I called to book that they would not accept credits cards UNLESS I WAS A COMPANY?? To top it off the engineer was extremely rude to me, answering i should know the prices, I should know i had to pay cash or debit card and other such ridiculous comments. I did not allow them to replace my lock as they cannot be trusted. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (you have been warned!)
scammers
scammers! Tell you can’t open a locked door unless it’s £350. And if you refuse they still try to change you £70 for ‘cancelling’ the service that They didn’t even do. What a load of blls**t. I only paid £39 because the guy was staring to make me uncomfortable and I wanted him to leave me alone
scammers stay away
Was quoted but then the engineer attended and charged 150 pounds from a vulnerable lady - scammers draw away

My lock stuck and I was time pressured to get it fixed so contacted this company (without reading reviews).
Was told I needed a whole new door mechanism. He took the old one away and said he would have to take it to the supplier to see how much a new one would be, but I would be looking at between £280-£380 just for the mechanism. I looked these up online and they average £99 cost price. When I questioned this I did not get a satisfactory answer but said that price would include a guarantee for the work as an explanation for why it would be 3 x the price. I had no real choice but to proceed as he had taken the door mechanism away so the house was completely unsecured.
He fitted the new mechanism but then said he could not guarantee the work unless I replaced the lock too for an additional £69 plus Vat which I refused to do as there was nothing wrong with the actual lock.
Terrible communication from the office who have not provided the paperwork they said they would for my insurance company. Ended up paying £458. Avoid this company at all costs.
I wish I had taken the time to read the reviews and chosen another locksmith.
I will be reporting this company to trading standards.
SCAMMERS!!!! AVOID!!!!
AVOID!!!!! Absolute scum bags! Charged my sister in law who is a single mother with 3 small children £500 to change a euro cylinder lock!!! They didn't give any quotes and once in the house they said it would cost £160 call out of she didn't go ahead. I wish I was there but unfortunately my sister in law was in a bit of a panic and believed them. The door was fitted recently and didn't even cost that much!
!!AVOID SCAMMERS AVOID SCAMMERS!!
absolute crooks
absolute crooks! stay away from this company. They give you a low quote on the phone and then treble in price on arrival! Knowing you have no other choice! They drilled the lock unnecessarily and completely butchered it! Then said itll be £500 to replace it! I told him to leave it and just get us in which still cost £270
AVOID USING THIS COMPANY
AVOID USING THIS COMPANY. SCAMMERS.
We are another victim of this company. After locking myself out of the house, I called the company from a Google search for a local locksmith. He arrived with 30 mins. He said he was unable to pick the lock saying he needed to drill it out. I asked how much it would cost and he said £205 for drilling out and fitting a new cylinder. Once fitted, he handed me the card machine to make payment. I spotted the higher amount of £550 he’d entered and challenged him, but he said that was the bill and I had misunderstood and I had to pay it.
Worried, I called my husband and handed the phone to the engineer. He tried the same advising that he can remove the lock and just charge the £205.
My husband said if he removed the lock he’s not paying anything other the £50 call out charge.
My husband threatened to call the police. He then backed down and offered charge £205 plus VAT which he agreed and paid, including £41 VAT, total payment £246.
Then afterwards we checked the invoice that was in the name of Grant & Co services of Evelyn Gardens 2F London, SW7 3BG. They quoted a registered company number and VAT number. We checked and found that there was no such registered company and the vat number was registered to a Scottish company called Grant Construction Services (FIFE) Limited.
So all in all, they tried to underhandedly charge an extortionate amount for what was 20 minutes work. Then once they backed down, they ended up conning us out of another £41 by fraudulently charging for VAT.
We have now cancelled our credit card and replaced the cylinder with a new one.
Don’t trust scam
On the phone quote us price
Arrived told us different price plus VAT
want to take the door apart and charge us over £400 but told us different on phone
when he been in the been business for 20 years he should know what’s wrong with it by mainly look at it.
Would not trust this guy.

I will be contacting relevant authorities to try and claim this money back. Please AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Shameful that they think that's okay to exploit and elderly lady who just wanted to gain access to her house.

Charged me £670 to get a quick 20 minute lock change in my flat
I'd just been released from Hospital and was desperate to get in so did it a Google search of 'locksmiths near me'..I wasn't really with it and now feel totally stupid and ripped off! I intend to contact Citizens Advice and try and get them closed down.. problem is they change their name..anyway, please, please avoid what I fell for! Geoff
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!
I feel extremely taken advantage of. Although roberto was friendly and arrived on time, as I was watching him try to get into my garage, without any experience from myself I knew it was being done incorrectly but I was in a state and put my trust in him to do a good job anyway. He was being very forceful and drilling all sorts of ways.
I called an alternative locksmith to put a new lock in the day after as I just didn’t have trust in roberto to do a good job. My locksmith had to dismantle the whole locking system to find there are holes in the door, it’s bent and there’s a hole in the mechanism itself.
There is also metal etc all over the garage floor which I was not made aware of and have now driven my car into the garage. I hope I don’t have any punctures when I get it out again!
This is completely unacceptable considering the cost I was charged. £255 to take out a barrel. I was also not made aware of the charge when I called and had I known I would never have proceeded.
At that time I was a vulnerable young lady in a panicked state and I feel completely taken advantage of.
I expect a full refund.
They should be banned
The guy charged me £652 for a simple lock change. I was alone in the flat with the guy and he was standing by the entrance pressurizing me to pay the amount. The company didn’t provide me any quote and neither did the guy. He just started changing my lock without discussing the price. When I tried to contact them they wouldn’t give me a proper answer or reply to my emails. Absolute rip off! SCAMMERS
