I was she was in Metel Bank for quite a few years which was quite great for that but recently over three weeks I have had six blocks on my account and they cannot tell me why apart from it’s the system flag in something so each of those times to happen within 24 hours every time I put money into the account it book it 24 hours later the money clears. I try and move it out of the account to buy something pay for something, whatever it blocks it six times.

Mettle is very simple and spam free. The app is very basic but does everything you need and is well designed. I’ve needed to contact Mettle a couple of times and it’s been easy and successful each time. Very good service.

They charge for fraud chargebacks…
They charge for fraud chargebacks (£100) when most other banks don't charge that. It is an optional charge to the customers and they inforce it- other banks waive this fee. Imagine getting scammed and charged £100 for them to investigate and reimburse? Terrible!

I have applied for a mettle account well over two week now. And still no account and still waiting. No feedback only an ai bot to talk to on messenger. Avoid and find an alternative.

Absolute nightmare
Absolute nightmare, I applied for a business account two weeks tomorrow, my credit rating is superb, I've answered all of there questions, still waiting.
So today I applied for business account with Starling, which rates the best business bank on Chatgpt, within three hours it was all done, approved and opened.

Refuses To Do What A Bank Should Do
For most of my time with Mettle I experienced zero issues.
Sadly I’ve now had to contact their support to do a chargeback in relation to an issue where goods have not been rendered.
Legally I am entitled to my money back (a sum of over £200) and as stated on citizens advice website the first step is contact the company who didn’t provide the goods or services (which was done and ignored) then second step is to get your bank to do a chargeback.
I made contact with mettle and they just refused. Told me to contact the company who hadn’t provided the services. Despite the fact I already told them and offered proof of this.
So I reiterated I had done this and informed them of what citizens advice has said to do. I asked if they were going to assist in this as my bank since I am legally entitled to get my money back and mettle refused to help.
As a result all my faith in this bank is gone, what good is your bank if they blatantly don’t care to help or assist in situations like this?
I am now in the process of moving to a different business account with another bank who:
A) doesn’t charge for withdrawals like mettle does
B) offers cash back on purchases unlike
Mettle
C) has actual branches you can visit (despite being run by NatWest and NatWest branch will claim they can’t help mettle customers)
A few years ago mettle was easily 5* but over time they are letting themselves slip hoping a previously good reputation keeps them afloat.

Absolute joke, don't waste your time.
Absolute joke. Had to try day after day as they only take a certain amount of applicants per day. I did this for 3 weeks everyday, finally got through.
Took all my personal information, told me to wait until to 20 days for the application to be processed. Was then asked to provide more information and documents which I did.
My application was rejected with no explanation as to why. If I had known the application was going to be rejected I wouldn't haven't bothered even trying, complete waste of my time and feel used for my personal information.
I personally bank with Natwest which Mettle is a part of so clearly Natwest don't value their customer in anyway as I've been with Natwest all my life.
Shall be moving bank to a bank that want my business.
Don't waste your time.

App is easy to use with fingerprint…
App is easy to use with fingerprint login and clear interface. General experience has so far been very good. Dropped one star because of fees unexpectedly added to their service just after I joined, eg there's now a charge to pay cash into the account.

I love this app. It’s really good. The one criticism I have is that it’s not easy to delete previous items from the invoicing list so would you update things? The old ones remain.
