Having a business bank, never occurred to me, I only set my business up last year but I learnt very quickly that there were costs involved until I found Mettle. The reason I set this up is because it’s matched with free agent and gives me free invoicing and free banking. I love that this automatically takes 20% for my tax which I can use if i need to, it’s easy to reconcile money in and out and works on Apple Pay, I can now have my business money separate and I also gain interest. Now I don’t know how I coped without having a business bank account. Highly recommend and if you aren’t using free agent and mettle together then why not ?

23 days for opening business account…
23 days for opening business account only to be declined? is this a joke? I opened my second business with another bank and was all complete within 6 hours and was able to use the card. What a complete joke. Would never recommend this to anyone. Literally for my other account with another bank I provided the EXACT same information (two similar companies i just started) so absolutely no reason to even decline.

Charges introduced for depositing cash
Really disappointed that Mettle now charge £2.75 to deposit cash, they also charge to withdraw cash, I originally opened the account as they claimed to support small business and sole traders....not any more !,
I raised a complaint but it made no difference, all I had was we understand, clearly they don't, Natwest Group reports profits of £6.2 billion but they claim the charges will now allow them to provide a better service.
So unless you are happy for the small margins you work to as a small business or sole trader, being reduced even more....stay clear of Mettle, I have been with them for 1 year now, but will be leaving ASAP
