Monthly payment taken unauthorised. Difficult to find how to get a refund.

Once the trial ends , you will find out monthly subscription which price is really higher for me.

Oh my goodness, why oh why in a moment of weakness did I abandon my own rule of "do not put in your card details online without checking reviews on here first"??
Like a lot of people on here, I took the test, paid a tiny sum (I think 99 pence) for the results and then forgot about it. Their email went into my spam. The next thing I know, we see a charge on our bank statement for £25, I find the email in spam and see they've signed me up to a subscription. All attempts to contact them via email were met with immediate and friendly replies about how frustrated I must feel. Great, right? No, they were all from some flipping robot named David who just repeated various platitudes from a menu. I was unable to cancel on the iphone platform and then eventually managed on desktop but no confirmation that the cancellation worked ever came through. David again shared my frustration, so that's something. I might start emailing David about all of modern life's troubles. He's very sympathetic and apparently wants to do everything he can to help.
If this has happened to you, best thing is to sort it from the banking side. My bank were able to show me how to go into future payments on my banking app and find subscriptions and stop the one to myIQ. I will now make a point of keeping an eye on that subscriptions part of my banking app. And I will hopefully no longer break my own rules about ALWAYS checking reviews before spending even a few pence online.

Would give negative stars if I could. Like many reviews on here, I too paid £1 for the initial test only to have an unauthorised payment for a subscription I never agreed to a few weeks later. Have emailed their help address from the website accordingly as the website won't even let me cancel the subscription properly.

I emailed them and got a generic reply
I've now tried another email
I never got my results or their version of my results
If I hadn't checked my PayPal account this theft of monies from my account would have gone on adinfinitum
Scammers are just sitting their emptying peoples bank accounts I'm a state pensioner so low income

Abofalle! Aufpassen, monatlich werden Beträge im Bereich von 25-30 € abgebucht. Obwohl man definitiv dazu geleitet wird zu denken, dass man eine Einmalige Aktion für einen Euro über PayPal.

Did a 50p IQ test only to have £29.99 taken from my account after 4 days. HOWEVER,I wrote an email to tp@ myiq.com ( found in another thread) and had an apology and a refund

I agreed to £1 for an IQ test, not the reoccurring £29.99 monthly subscription. Contacted my bank, who in turn put me in touch with their fraud team. Going through the process of a complaint with the company.

Update. IQ can't find a subscription with my email ( I use two email addresses, both of which I have confirmed) and now want the credit card number used. I informed IQ I used apple pay as apple pay do not share card details with vendors. But what use are card details for reference if you never had the card details in the first place?

This company is just a scam. I have the original advert on Facebook that I responded to, suggesting filling in an IQ test. There was no mention anywhere of any charge. The form took about 15 minutes to complete. When I clicked the button for my scores, I was surprised that it requested that I pay £1 although it's not a lot of money, I didn't like the way they operated so I closed the page. Over the next few days I received a number of emails from myiq praising the way I'd answered some of the questions in the test and asking me to pay the £1 fee to get my results. Eventually I paid the £1 by PayPal for safety. A few days later I received an email from PayPal saying I had a payment pending to myiq for £24.99 I found that in the email with the results that I had paid the fee for there was a little paragraph at the bottom saying that I had signed up for a subscription with them. There is no mention of a subscription in any of the emails I received before paying the fee. I cancelled the standing order that they set up but PayPal paid the first £24.99 against my wishes and although I have raised a dispute about the payment twice but PayPal have found against me.

Well documented scam I did not sign up but still charged £29.99 it appears that using their “skip” function triggers the payment.
Don’t waste time with their customer support that’s a sham too.
Report to bank/credit card and put a block on further payments.
Got mine returned within 24 hours

Cancellef trial want aware of initially but they still charged 29.99. I asked them to remove before posted to my account

Unauthorised subscription charge taken from bank after paying a one off £0.99 payment for an online is test. Absolute scammers!

Total scam £24.99 taken twice despite it being cancelled a month ago! Then the constant emails back and forth that’s getting me nowhere!

My I.Q is a scam. I paid £1 and the later took £29.99 from my account as subscription fee for something I never subscribed too. I sent a mail to their billing for over 48hrs now and nobody as replied back.
I will appreciate it, if my money can be refunded back.
It has been resolved. My money is fully refunded back on the 2nd February, 2026

A complete scam. Took £24 out of my PayPal account, been trying to get my money back for 4 days. Do not under any circumstances do the IQ test. I have raised a complaint with PayPal and was told to change my password immediately.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! THEY HAVE SCAMMED MY ELDERLY PARENT AND WILL NOT REFUND. SAY THEY CANNOT FIND A SUBSCRIPTION UNDER THE EMAIL ADDRESS!!! BUT HAVE BEEN TAKING MONEY.

Absolute scammers!I took the test and it asked to pay 50p for the results I gave my card details and did not sign up for any subscription now months later i was going through my account charges and have found multiple payments of £10 going inconsistently from my account that I did NOT approve they took £160 before I managed to cancel.

Saw advert on Instagram, paid £1 to take the test as I thought would just be a bit of fun, this was in October 2025, yesterday 31st January 2026 I checked my bank account and I discovered this scam company had been taking £29.99 a month out of my account for 4 months through PayPal, I never signed up for this, I didn't even know I had an account until yesterday. I have emailed the company numerous times for a refund but they are refusing, KEEP AWAY from this company.

Absolutely abysmal support, absolute scam, paid the 50p and saw nothing about subscription, so was charged £29.99, 7 days later. When questioned the support about the £29.99 fee, they say they cannot find my account or email address, yet when I sent the photograph of the cancellation email and the account itself, they still cannot find my account. Really? Something fishy going on!
